My Dogs Try Backyard Tree Apples For The First Time This Year!

Fall is finally rolling into Northern Michigan, and that means apple season has officially returned to our backyard! In today's vlog, the temperatures are starting to drop, but the breeze is knocking down thousands of acorns that we have to clean up so the dogs do not eat them. Kira and Eleanor decided to inspect the yard work, which turned into a fun backyard apple taste test. Our apple trees took a beating from previous ice storms, but the surviving branches are loaded down with fruit. Since our huskies can be super picky, Jamie usually has to take bites out of fresh apples before they will even touch them, but today I took on apple bite duty myself! We fence the trees off so the dogs stay safe, but we plan to pick the rest soon to freeze dry them into homemade dog treats, while Greg takes the fallen bruised apples out to feed his farm chickens.

Meanwhile, Jamie is out working hard in the direct sun on the house roof, saving us thousands on our big DIY home renovation before the fall rain and winter snow arrive. I also take a minute to address why we have not taken the RV out camping lately, sharing an update on our upcoming events like the Novi Pet Expo, the new calendar, and how we are slowly healing after losing Memphis. Between Kira barking at an overturned trash can that blew over in the wind, Eleanor begging for walks with her famous loud husky howls, and Kira nearly snatching an entire slice of birthday party pizza from a neighbor kid during our evening stroll, it was a full day of fun memories. Life is short, make memories with your dogs!
