Today started with a crazy backyard mission to save our Siberian Huskies from eating a million acorns! Northern Michigan is beautiful right now but the squirrels are dropping acorns absolutely everywhere. While trying to clear the yard so Kira and Eleanor stay safe, Eleanor almost stepped on a crazy looking spiky bug. We looked it up and found out it was an American dagger moth caterpillar which can actually cause nasty rashes. I quickly relocated the little guy to the other side of the fence to keep the dogs completely safe!
After our bug rescue I headed over to the commercial building we are renovating in Alpena to show you guys some huge updates. Jamie has been working so incredibly hard on this house project. We completely gutted the bizarre bathroom setup and are rearranging the entire floor plan to actually add a closet and make sense of the space. It is taking a lot of work and we are waiting on the power company to replace the box, but getting this place ready and livable for Jamie's dad to move in is going to be so worth it.
Back at home we are trying to change up the dog feeding schedule and let me tell you these Siberian Huskies are not having it! They are so used to their old routine that we kept with Memphis, but we are slowly pushing dinner time back and they are super impatient. We finished off the beautiful day with a family dinner out at my parents house, a walk where the dogs spotted their favorite neighborhood cat, and unboxing some super fun Disney Doorables. We got some cool doubles that we will give to Greg for his D and D games, and I finally found the exact Nightmare Before Christmas figure I wanted!
