as far as making the World Series goes because the Yankees don't have great
offense but they need just enough to really get there to the World Series and
frankly they're gonna need Judge to do that but we do have multiple more updates to go over
real quick make sure to go ahead and subscribe if you are part of that 66%
that is not yet subscribed we got videos coming out every single day breaking
down all the latest New York Yankees news and let's jump into that news
because guys the Yankees have made multiple multiple moves today as we all
know there was an injury to Trent Grisham and his hamstring which obviously does
change from the Knicks Grish has been the team's leadoff hitter pretty much
all season exclusively and though his season has been up and down and
honestly a little bit more down Grish has not lost his role and there was
really no expectation on him losing his role despite Spencer Jones getting
better and better and really trending in the right direction while Grish is in
his final year of the Yankees almost certainly so guys with all this in mind
obviously the Yankees are in a very very interesting position as far as the rest
of this season goes with Grisham who's now down for a stretch of time it was
revealed by the Yankees that prior to today's game the Yankees made the
following roster moves as they placed Trent Grisham on the 10-day injured list
with a right hamstring strain it's important to note that is not
retroactive so he will be gone for at least 10 days well they also were called
outfielder Jason Dominguez from Triple-A and that is a surprising one right there
if you guys have followed the channel for a while you you would know that I'm
a huge Jason Dominguez guy I still believe Dominguez is a great player I
think he's got a lot of potential in the MLB and I think the biggest problem
that Dominguez has had throughout his career is an inconsistent role I mean
the guy came in as a center fielder got thrown into left field didn't play
consistently Trent Grisham's immersion and explosion that he had onto the scene
last year becoming an elite player obviously not an elite player but a very
good player overall did obviously hinder Dominguez who would have been sharing
the outfield with well Aaron Judge and Cody Bellinger who are two of the best
players in the team so because of that it's really messed with Dominguez he
hasn't really gotten a consistent spot in the MLB ever with the Yankees and
there's a lot of thought that he likely is going to get traded sooner rather
than later the Martian who was once viewed as Mike Trout has not lived up
to that whatsoever he had a great beginning to his career but struggled
and I'm honestly surprised he got called back up I would have expected a veteran
but the Yankees called Dominguez in and he's not gonna play a ton but he is
going to play it's a zero war this season in 200 at bats with a 230 batting
average he's not the slugger that we thought he was going to be but with an
OPS of 650 which is not good it's 100 below average frankly it is it gives you
some reason to believe considering the 270 on base percentage is not very good
overall the question is can Jason Dominguez perform when he gets put into
situations and again he's not gonna play a ton he'll play don't get me wrong but
they're gonna use a few different guys I imagine Spencer Jones will be out in
centerfield like he has been a little bit since then the Yankees see Jones is
true centerfielder they want to use mid centerfield and there is a I would say a
98% chance that Jones will be the team's centerfielder next year
Chris hits free agency they're not gonna resign him and then on top of that judge
might still be in right field for another year or so and then outside of
that we'll see Ballinger in left field as Ballinger has been incredible one of the
best feeling left fielders in baseball arguably the MLB's best fielding lefty
so or left fielder I should say so overall there is some thought there and
Dominguez has definitely had some good moments but the numbers don't really
jump out I mean his value has been pretty much below average everywhere the
only thing that he's above average at is well I mean his arm strength is up there
the best in the league the man's a phenomenal athlete one of the best players
in the team and overall the base running value is pretty much average but outside
of that he hasn't gotten on baseball enough and he hasn't been making the
contact and having the power that we hoped he would have so that has lead
blood to some cause for concern as also the fielding has not been great and he's
someone who came in as a very good fielder and hitter and just an overall
five to a player who has not been that at all if we're being completely honest
but Grish goes down and honestly it is interesting it's an interesting time
because the emergence of Spencer Jones especially because when we look at
Grish over his last 15 games he's got a 115 batting average just not good the
OPS is a 443 the man has been trending in the wrong direction for some time now
on top of that we know he's not a long-term piece of the Yankee so it's
gonna be interesting to see what happens with him going forwards I feel like I'm
trashing Trent Grisham so often on this channel and that's not what I'm here to
do and I've mentioned this a bunch of times whenever I've talked about Grish's
poor season this year I love Trent Grisham I think he's awesome I think he
actually is a very very very useful MLB player who I don't want to say is in
over his head that's not the right way to put it especially because he's been
one of the most clutch players in the league over the last two seasons when
you look at the numbers but he's just someone who it feels like he has a
bigger role than he should and I'm so partial towards having a great contact
hitter be your leadoff hitter that seeing Grish there it feels like he's
being put in a situation that doesn't make sense for him but now he's down and
we're gonna see Jones jump in there we'll see Dominguez get some at-bats
we'll obviously see eventually Aaron Judge return and we do have to talk
about that as well because again there's a lot that goes into this right now
sleeper Yankees did talk about as well since Aaron Judge went down they've been
29th in batting average 27th and on baseball slugging and 25th in runs but
they are first in ERA their pitching has been great but they do need their
superstar hitter back and we do have an update on that
Brian Hoke revealed that considering Aaron Judge needs to face live pitching
and won't do that before the Yankees return I'm unofficially circling
September 11th versus the Mets as a target date Judge was asked about that
and Judge talked a lot about his injury saying I'm mad at how long it has taken
it is what it is I wish I was it was real two months ago but we're at this
point now and we're getting close I can't wait to be back out there and
obviously Yankee fans cannot wait it's always been gone for a while and he said
if I'm playing or not playing it's going to be special it's going to be a
big day that really impacted not only a lot of New Yorkers 9-11 but the whole
world around our country I don't know about playing or not playing but I'm
definitely gonna be there soaking it all in the way he says it I mean he's not
gonna go out there and say he's gonna play he's not gonna lie to Yankee fans
and again he's the captain of the team he's the captain of any team in New York
you kind of take the Derek Jeter molds considering the man is the cap Jalen
JB but um judge is obviously gonna keep it close to the vest he's gonna stay
buttoned up as he always is it's just in the job description of being a captain
me we see the same thing again with Jalen Bronson so like it happens and
frankly when we look at Aaron judge I think he's gonna play it's too perfect
it's almost like if and obviously we're hoping it goes well when Aaron Rogers
ran out onto the field on 9-11 holding the flag the American flag in his first
game with the Jets and obviously that was one of the most comical moments not
comical comical but funny in the sense of like only the Jets kind of way I can
say that I'm a Jets fan but like where of course he goes down with the injury
and then you know we we know the history of that but like overall with this it
feels like it's kind of a perfect storm for Aaron judge to come back it's
against the Mets the Mets aren't particularly good even though they're
playing a little bit better now and on one of the biggest days in New York
history it just makes sense to bring judge back out there haven't played DH
especially we'll see Dominguez up there it gives Dominguez a chance to get out
into the outfield it gives Ballinger and Spencer Jones just to stay out there
which is obviously important and then on top of that as well we obviously see
Aaron judge kind of get slowly ramped up a little bit before the playoffs start
in just a couple weeks when judge is gonna have to be great there's no other
way around if judge isn't good the Yankees aren't gonna win the World Series
there's no if-ands or buts about that so a lot to look at going forward for the
Yankees and I do think we are going to see this team make some moves very soon
like subsequently as well but as we know they made some moves today I like
them I think judge is gonna return in around five six days as well it makes
sense so hopefully we'll see judge back hopefully I'll be able to be the Aaron
judge that we all know love and need him to be this season guys make sure to go
ahead and like this video subscribe turn on post notifications we got videos
coming out every single day have a great day guys and go Yankees
