All right, well, let's take a quick look at the forecast meteorologist John Dawson joining us. Those are a lots of bright colors behind you
That's this is all from Edward. So this is kind of that review. We know this happened. Okay, just this we scared me
I know right just five days ago
We've really been adding up all these numbers and just kind of that quick reminder because I know a lot of people in Houston
We're surprised that didn't get very much rain
But when you're talking about a tropical system a reminder just to say from Houston to Beaumont
That's not that far away and to have this much rain
You have to be expected that if this were to happen in the Houston area
It would have been a lot different story as far as the number of people impacted and the impacts on it overall
So that's relatively a close a call here for the city of Houston with a tropical system like that
With over 20 inches of rain that fell in that very short amount of time
But as we talked about earlier nothing happening in the Atlantic right now
That's the good news over the Pacific still very active
Marie is a hurricane gonna be with us for a little bit longer that moisture is actually going to be
Affecting the southwest u.s. Not really going to make a landfall or anything. Karina is a tropical storm
It's going to continue to weaken
although it does want to look like it's trying to head toward the Hawaiian Islands and Lowell is going to be over on the
West side of the Hawaiian Islands not making again a direct impact
But probably gonna have those hurricane watches come up for those Western Islands because of its close proximity
It's a strong storm right now and really kind of a pretty looking storm if you get a close look at it
But again, it's gonna track close enough that we'll see the watches issued most likely
But it shouldn't have a direct landfall sort of indirect impacts overall
I do want to kind of get back to the u.s.
Get past our seven-day for the continental u.s.
And get past the seven-day forecast in that extended outlook when we kind of get into the second week of September here
We will be looking for
Probably warmer than average temperatures overall, but we probably will be a little bit drier again as well
So we've been having a little rain lately
But we'll be at least average or maybe slightly below average as far as that rainfall is concerned
Most of us have been seeing this today some cloudy to moat to partly cloudy skies
We've seen a little bit of sunshine warming things up somewhat
This is our Galleria camera where it's about 89 degrees again the feels like temperature still a bit warmer
So you get out there and move around very much you sort of pick up on that right away
And we are still looking at a fairly active radar this storms that are over on the east
Sorry, the western edge of Harris County. That's gonna start to continue just head towards Sealy
Maybe the folks on the west side of Katy need to be ready for a few showers and thunderstorms as those continue to move
Generally to the south at this point in time will slowly decrease the rain chances to about 30%
We'll head those steady for the majority of the workweek
