That is correct. Good morning.
Good morning, Bob. We are on storm watch and
latest storm system set to arrive later today.
And we're going to time it all out for you.
Meantime, enjoy what we've got going on right now.
It's calm, it's quiet, and we've got mostly
clear conditions and a few clouds.
But eventually the storm, once it arrives, here are the impacts.
We're anticipating rainfall through tomorrow.
And how much rain are we anticipating on getting?
about a range of three-quarters of an inch,
an inch to even two inches mainly,
and for foothills and mountain communities
vulnerable to the upslope flow,
1.5 to even three inches is possible.
And we add thunderstorms.
This is a very unstable air mass,
and it could lead to about even a 30% to 40% chance
that a thunderstorm could develop over your area,
and that could lead to heavier downpours.
It can create the possibility of mudslides and debris flow.
We have a flood watch that will be in place
for the Santa Monica Mountains later this afternoon
and will stay in place through tomorrow afternoon.
Winds will be gusting about 25 miles per hour,
a little stronger than the snow.
It's going to be really high.
Snow impacts.
The snow level is right around 8,000 feet.
And we're looking at a lot of moisture
and already bringing up some moisture just offshore
and expected to arrive across areas of Southern California later today.
And here's the timing out of the futurecast as it stands currently.
Light to moderate rain seeping into Ventura County first,
and Oxnard will see some of the earlier onslaught
of this latest storm system.
And then out towards Santa Monica Mountains,
Malibu could see some of that rain activity
as early as perhaps even 9, 10,
but to this one right around 11 o'clock.
And as we move it forward through the afternoon,
L.A. County will be impacted.
Orange County may get a light shower or two
but the heavier stuff for Orange County will arrive
later this afternoon and into the IE we go
and we're not done yet overnight we'll get more
rainfall roadways will continue to be slick
and here comes another round pushing out towards the
IE and into our mountain communities
for your Thursday afternoon slowly drying up perhaps just
lingering moisture for late Thursday
and into early Friday and then we clear up really nice
for the weekend.
