903. Making a MKM Roller Basket Texture Flat Jar with Hsin-Chuen Lin

Trying to use the MKM router. This kind of texture could be nice for making a basket. I'm also going to put this inside to make a support and then roll against it so it could be a bit wider. Okay it looks good and I've sucked the bottom a little bit so that the paper is a little bit softer so it doesn't create a lot of a texture which is sometimes hard to get rid of it. Okay make sure you push all the way down and then in the middle and then I'm going to cut harder so that the cylinder is fitting tight. The wall is fitting tight on the inside supporting. The tube is made of PVC. You can use any kind of solid copper tube or PVC tube. All we want is the support on the inside so squeeze that from the bottom and push it up. All right so that's good and then I'm going to use the rib to make sure the surface is nice. I'm going to roll the vertical way so I don't want to put the clay on the top and the bottom portion is too much. So I will trim out so that the middle section is a little bit wider. It's easier for me to print the texture deeper on the middle section so I remove a bit of clay from the bottom portion so that it's not in the way. I have a bit of clay from the top and then I've been putting this in the bucket of water so the wood has been soaking in the water for a while. Then I'm going to put a roll against it so first push that maybe a bit of a support on the inner tube and then a roll in the wheel and rotate it slowly. At the joint I kind of release it so it goes all the way around it and the water method is very good for your rotor without getting clay in the way. Also using this kind of my design handle it's a lot easier because it's less friction so we can roll more freely. All right and then just remove the inner tube and carefully pull out the newspaper. Compress the rim a bit so it's a little bit thicker. For the inner corner I will use one of my compressing stick to push that so the corner will be smoother before I stretch it out. I am going to use a sponge to rehydrate or lubricate the inside of the wall. Remember when you are stretching you're going to stretch a whole lot and leave your wall slightly thicker. Let's stretch it out slowly.
