So today is not just your average wake up, no, no, it is extra special and also extra sad, at least for, you know, those of us who are so fortunate to work with Carl these years.
Yeah, but we are celebrating you today, Carl, as it is your final day here with Fox 6.
He's been with us for 10 years.
Yeah, it's been quite a run.
Can you believe that?
No, honestly, I have a whole list here.
I was like writing down memories and moments and I ran out of paper.
So there you go.
That's what you want, a full page.
Yes, indeed.
So as folks at home know, Carl has been known for so many things on this show, smiling, laughter, but I think like amazing stories are really kind of your thing here.
So you've kept people informed and you help viewers start their day here on Wake Up as well.
So we have some friends and community members who wanted to share some well wishes for you.
Oh boy.
This is just the first batch of many.
So let's let's start, shall we?
Carl, I can't believe you're leaving us.
I can't imagine Fox 6 without you.
Who is going to win all the Emmys around here now?
You're a great writer.
You're a great journalist.
Overall, though, you are a really, really good friend.
Yeah.
Do you think this means we'll be invited to his hot tub?
Yeah, we've never been invited to his hot tub.
I don't know.
We'll see.
We're going to miss you, Carl.
All right, Carl.
We're going to miss you so much.
Hey, Carl, it goes without saying we are going to miss our Friday morning visits with you.
We are so grateful for the time that we've had with you, though.
And watching you grow over the past so many years at Fox 6 has been such a joy to watch, too.
Watching him grow.
Did you say he needed to grow?
No.
Always a true professional.
Here's to one of the most quick-witted people on the planet.
We're going to miss you, buddy.
Hope you have the best time in your next adventure.
Hey, Carl.
Governor Tony Evers here.
I hear you're leaving Fox 6 after 10 great years.
And I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for your good work and good luck.
You'll do great wherever your next chapter takes you.
Take care.
Can you believe it?
Okay, that's pretty cool.
The governor, apparently in his kitchen, said goodbye to you.
Wow.
How does that make you feel?
Pretty amazed.
I'll be honest, I did not know he was aware of my existence, despite the fact that we've covered him for eight years.
And actually, I specifically remember being in a classroom here in Milwaukee right after he announced he was running for governor many, many years ago.
So, that's amazing.
Thank you, Governor Evers.
And, wow.
When I saw him on the roster, I'm not going to lie.
I was like, okay, Ted Perry, we love him.
And I was like, Governor Evers?
What?
I am so excited for the last Milwaukee mutts with our FM 106 friends.
And then, apparently, I need to throw a hot tub party for Ben and Ashley, as well.
We'll see you there.
It's not an HR violation after today because we're not co-workers, so.
Get your swimsuits out.
Wow.
Ben, where's the speedo?
We're just getting started.
We're ten minutes in here.
Let's go.
