World Series: Nomad in Milwaukee to host watch parties

To what we're talking about, we're talking about the Brewers and the Nomad. We had so much fun with Nomad during the World Cup, and guess what? They are back for more for the World Series. We are joined by Drew Doyster. Drew, thanks for joining us here on Fox 6 Now. How's it going? Oh, it's going great. Just getting excited. I'm so excited. Okay, so tell me what Nomad has planned for the World Series. Yeah, so we're going to keep our big screen out there. We had been using kind of the Jumbotron screen out on what we call Brady Beach, which is outside of kind of the Nomad there. We closed down on Warren Ave in the summer, and we had that screen going for all the World Cup games. And I remember having a meeting with some of the team, and we were talking about maybe we'll just leave the screen up and something cool could happen, like the Brewers would, you know, make the postseason. And here we are. And here we are. um and you know what it doesn't matter what kind of weather we get i think people are just going to be so excited and you want to be with people you want to be with other fans for this yeah absolutely the environment and the energy has just been uh amazing we've seen people from all over come come out to watch and uh we expect that these world series games will be even bigger so walk me through the details so games one and two we know are right here at home so what time should people show up you know what's going on uh we generally uh we'll have stuff going on we'll have some music uh i know there'll be djs and stuff uh for when the game's not being played uh we'll have food uh we kind of got famous for our tacos this summer really good tacos out there we'll also be doing burgers and brats but uh we generally recommend people come at least an hour before the games that is amazing so how many people are you expecting Or how many people is capacity, I should say? Yeah, well, it's an outside event, so we don't actually have necessarily a capacity. We do kind of close it off, but we can probably accommodate a few thousand people between the inside and the outside, you know, provided the weather is good. But, yeah, I think each game has gotten a little bigger, a little busier. So, yeah, get there early. Start partaking in the festivities. So as an establishment and going through this whole series, both series, does that change your business plan? Do you start ordering more? Do you look to hire more people? Like what effect has it had on business for you? Yeah, absolutely. We actually were probably a bit fortunate to have gone through the World Cup, which was, you know, pretty much chaos, but in a good way. So we kind of learned the ropes a little bit. And we are able, we usually bring in some extra people during the summer. But, yeah, we have we load up on the orders. You know, we make sure that we do everything we can to be prepared. But, yeah, it's it's always a little bit crazy, but it's a lot of fun. I expect that you also are going to find some folks from Florida who are going to just be in town and maybe they only have tickets for game one or vice versa. I think that the word has gotten out that Nomad is definitely a place. if you want to like that vibe you want Milwaukee you want the sports you want it all you head down to the Nomad yeah absolutely it's been like i said it was really it was really uh exciting to be a part of the World Cup because we got to see people from kind of all over the world uh coming coming out to uh to represent their country and and now we've you know been fortunate enough to host uh you know Milwaukee um and Wisconsin be able to host these World Series games so we're We've already been finding people from all over the country with some kind of connection either to Milwaukee or just baseball fanatics in town. So, yeah, it's very exciting. Drew, I have to ask you, does Nomad have bumper stickers? We do have some stickers, but not bumper stickers. That would be such a wonderful marketing thing. We could get our people on that right away. I think you should get your people on it because I think Nomad has that name, you know, that infamy, you know, that you guys could definitely do that. And as people, you know, are visitors, they could go home with a Nomad sticker. It's like, where's the Nomad? Oh, it's in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This is a great idea. Any predictions for the series? What do you think? How many games? Well, I definitely think that, you know, getting through the Dodgers was kind of, you know, everyone had some doubts, I think, or at least, you know, was nervous to play the Dodgers. So sweeping them, I think, was like almost winning a World Series in a way. I think we'll I think we'll get through pretty cleanly. We might lose one, but I think we'll do it in five.
