A uniquely Japanese method for making *onsen tamago* (hot spring eggs)

What exactly is an authentic onsen tamago (hot spring egg)?
I tested out easy methods using a pot and a rice cooker.
I also introduce a homemade shiro-dashi (white dashi) sauce
that pairs perfectly with these eggs and takes just 5 minutes to make.
