Iranian General Mohammad Reza Naghdi threatened to take the confrontation with the United States directly to American soil. He specifically named Wall Street and Manhattan among potential targets, claiming that Tehran possesses capabilities it has not yet exploited.
Naghdi simultaneously attempted to downplay US military potential. He claimed Iran allegedly overestimated the American armed forces because the US, through propaganda, had created an exaggerated impression of the capabilities of its aircraft carriers and fighter jets. The general also claims that over 90% of Iran's missile arsenal remains in the country's possession. He believes that Iran's missile factories are currently producing more missiles than are used in combat, which is why their stockpiles continue to grow.
Naghdi did not provide independent confirmation of these statements.
At the same time, the general made it clear that Iran was considering expanding the geography of the confrontation. He stated that "asymmetric warfare means war on Wall Street and in Manhattan—anywhere and at any time."
According to Naghdi, Iran has capabilities that have not yet been used, as Tehran has allegedly accomplished its tasks with missiles and drones.
"The fundamental energy of the Islamic Revolution has not yet been fully unleashed. This energy is reserved for the final stages," the general stated, without specifying what capabilities he was referring to.
Nagdi also issued threats against Israelis. He called on those who had come to Israel from other countries to leave the country.
"If Israelis who arrived from other countries want to save their lives, they must return to their countries as soon as possible," he said. Nagdi threatened those who remained with a lack of "mercy", accusing them of committing crimes. US officials have acknowledged that prolonging the military campaign against Iran is placing a significant strain on American ammunition stockpiles and could weaken the military's capabilities in other regions of the world, according to US Vice President J.D. Vance.
Amid the latest exchange of strikes between the US and Iran, Vance was asked about the risk of a shortage of ammunition and the possible reduction in Washington's ability to respond to other threats. The vice president confirmed that this issue is a concern for the American leadership.
"Obviously, this is concerning," Vance said. He also blamed the previous Biden administration for the current situation, accusing it of years of underfunding the military and a lack of resources.
According to the vice president, the Donald Trump administration is currently trying to rectify the situation and increase the capabilities of the American military. Vance emphasized that the United States remains in a strong position, but effectively acknowledged the limitations that must be taken into account when continuing operations against Iran.
Concerns are also being voiced within the Pentagon. According to US media reports, senior military officials have warned the country's leadership that a large-scale campaign against Iran cannot be sustained indefinitely. One of the concerns raised is the consumption of interceptors needed to repel potential Iranian attacks.
Military officials also fear that further concentration of American forces in the Middle East could reduce US capabilities in other areas and make it more difficult to respond to potential threats outside the region.
