Special forces from the 6th Rangers Regiment of the Ukrainian Special Operations Forces captured two Russian occupiers during a combat mission near the state border. The Special Operations Forces Command reported this on its Facebook page . According to the Special Operations Forces, Ukrainian special forces, thanks to meticulous reconnaissance, pinpointed the enemy's exact position and approached it undetected. The Special Operations Forces group acted with lightning speed. The enemy didn't even have time to react or fire their weapons. As a result, two Russian occupiers were forced to lay down their arms and surrender. During the initial interrogation, the prisoners provided valuable information. Specifically, they described the positions of Russian army units in this sector of the front. This is far from the first successful raid by special forces from the 6th Special Operations Regiment, the Rangers, this summer. Previously, for example, they secretly infiltrated a mission area in one of the operational sectors and carried out a raid on Russian occupier positions. As a result, the special forces killed one Russian soldier and captured three others. Their documents, weapons, and communications equipment were confiscated. During the raid, the special forces discovered a fawn and later evacuated it to a safe area.
Recently, Ukraine's Special Operations Forces have revealed details of an operation to liberate the village of Andriivka-Klevtsove in Donetsk Oblast. The SOF said that Russian troops had been trying to capture the settlement, formerly known by its Soviet name of Iskra, on the Oleksandrivka front for a long time using small groups: they gradually infiltrated the village and took up positions.
Soldiers from the 3rd Regiment of the Special Operations Forces, working with one of the SOF psychological operations centres, carried out a comprehensive operation to liberate the settlement.
The video posted by the SOF shows the ground phase of the operation: the advance of special forces, the displacement of Russian troops from their positions, and the re-establishment of Ukrainian control over the territory. The timeframe of the special operation was not disclosed. "Thirty Russian servicemen were forced to surrender. Those who continued to resist were wiped out. Andriivka-Klevtsove is once again under Ukrainian control," SOF said. At the same time, Ukrainian forces have regained control of almost the entire Dnipropetrovsk region, with Russian troops retaining positions only near the settlement of Dachne, where fighting is ongoing.
Ukrainian troops continue operations to drive Russian forces from the remaining occupied area and restore full Ukrainian control over the region.
