As a result of the attack by Ukrainian troops on the Russian airfield Primorsko-Akhtarsk in the Krasnodar Territory, the storage points of kamikaze drones were attacked. The damage was inflicted on the infrastructure of the combat airfield.
The station can simultaneously track the movement of up to 300 targets; the antenna rotation speed is 6-12 revolutions per minute. The resolution is 600 m or eight degrees in the case of two targets with the same EPR. The antenna is automatically folded and unfolded, mounted on the chassis of a KAMAZ-5360 truck. The radar crew consists of three people; the station consumes up to 30 kW of electricity. Recall that on the night of August 22, explosions were heard in the Samara and Saratov regions of russia, and Russians complained about a drone attack. After the explosions, smoke was visible over several objects important to the aggressor state.
As reported, the day before, Ukraine struck the Perm oil refinery and the “Marynivka” military airfield. Ukrainian troops also struck the “Akhtubinsk” airfield in the Russian Federation again: a Su-34E heavy fighter was damaged there. Yevgeny Diky, a veteran of the Russian-Ukrainian war, former company commander of the Aidar Battalion, and director of the National Antarctic Scientific Center said that in one or two months, Russia's Rostov Oblast and Krasnodar Krai will be under the same tight fire control as Crimea is now. When asked whether drone-based fire control over enemy territory could be gradually expanded, he noted that there is even special terminology for this.
"In Russian-language sources, this is called 'opening the sky.' This is the first stage before establishing fire control. That is, first, the sky is 'opened,' that is, the air defenses are systematically disabled—until the air defenses are completely destroyed, but this rarely happens… The main thing is that the air defenses are so neutralized that they are no longer capable of effectively repelling large waves of incoming targets," Diky said. Yes, says the expert, the first stage is the suppression of enemy air defenses, and the second is taking the sky, a certain territory, under fire control. "The Azov region, the area of the so-called 'Novorossiya' highway, is already under our absolute fire control. Crimea is practically... And now it's our turn: Krasnodar Krai, the former and perhaps someday future Ukrainian Kuban, adjacent Adygea, and the Rostov Region adjacent to our occupied territories. Gradually, layer by layer, a fire control zone is being built up," Diky noted. He added that "we can bet on how long it will take for the Rostov Region and Krasnodar Krai to be under the same tight fire control as Crimea is now."
"My guess is between one and two months, give or take," the expert said.
