In southern Ukraine, the Ukrainian Armed Forces continue to conduct continuous strikes with medium-range drones against Russian road logistics. Since May 2026, more than 3,000 trucks and other vehicles have been hit on key roads. Highway R-280 remains one of the main attack vectors. Reputable OSINT expert Clement Molin writes about this in his blog . Day after day, the same videos emerge from the occupied areas of southern Ukraine. Large convoys of trucks, many protected by vehicle-mounted air defense systems, move at full speed along key roads. They transport goods, fuel, and military equipment, but are constantly under attack from Ukrainian drones. Russian drivers publish videos daily demonstrating how dangerous driving in southern Ukraine has become. However, trucks aren't the only target. Ukraine is doing everything possible to make road travel increasingly dangerous and difficult. Numerous bridges have been hit, some of them destroyed. In particular, the bridge near Chongar. The use of pontoon bridges makes every truck an easy target. Currently, most trucks traveling along the Rostov-Crimea highway, known as the land corridor to Crimea, travel in convoys and are under cover. Typically, convoys consist of three to five trucks and two to three air defense vehicles. Drivers post similar videos online every day. Supplying Crimea is becoming a real nightmare, and the onset of winter and worsening road conditions will only worsen the situation. Firstly, there will be fewer shelters among the trees. Secondly, off-road travel will be difficult. I continue to collect statistics on medium-range drone strikes against logistics not only in southern Ukraine, but also in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. At least 770 trucks and other vehicles were hit in September. This figure only includes vehicles captured in videos released by the Ukrainian side, filmed more than 20 kilometers from the front line. Videos appearing online almost daily clearly demonstrate how Ukraine is targeting supply routes and convoys on key roads. Ukrainian forces are using both medium-range drones—Hornet, Darts, RAM 2X, B2, Chaklun, and others—and long-range FPV drones. The Ukrainian Ronin group from the 65th Mechanized Brigade constantly attacks Russian supply routes in the Zaporizhia region, near Tokmak and Vasylivka. The troops use long-range FPV drones, including those controlled via fiber optic cable. These drones provide high-quality video transmission. Ukraine has several priority target categories: air defense crews and mobile groups, fuel tankers, and large military and civilian trucks. Russia is increasingly using interceptor drones to destroy Ukrainian medium-range drones. The Russian military group "Rubicon" claims to have destroyed 7,000 drones since the beginning of the year, including 1,800 in September. This data should be treated with caution: representatives of the center often lie in their calculations. Despite numerous statements made several months ago, Ukraine's medium-range drone strike campaign hasn't ceased or slowed down. It's simply no longer making headlines amid the intensification of Russian long-range strikes against Ukraine. However, over time, the effectiveness and consequences of Ukrainian attacks on Russian logistics are becoming increasingly visible.
