On the night of August 26, drones attacked the Wildberries marketplace's key logistics center in Kotovsk, Tambov Oblast, Russia. The explosion caused a fire. According to Tambov Oblast Governor Yevgeny Pervyshov a Wildberries logistics center in Kotovsk, Tambov Oblast, caught fire after a drone crashed. The fire covered more than 100,000 square meters, and one company employee was injured. Due to the risk of carbon monoxide and combustion product poisoning, Kotovsk Mayor Alexei Plakhotnikov urged residents to stay home, close windows, refrain from active travel within the city for the next two days, and to use delivery services. Monitoring services began reporting drone threats around midnight, and restrictions were imposed at Tambov Airport. Subsequently, local residents reported hearing at least 10 explosions, which resulted in a fire in one area. According to monitoring channels, the Wildberries facility in Kotovsk is one of the marketplace's key logistics facilities in Central Russia. It began operations in 2025 and, once fully operational, was expected to accommodate up to 54 million units of goods. The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that from 8:00 PM Moscow time on August 25 to 7:00 AM Moscow time on August 26, air defense alert forces intercepted and destroyed 426 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones over the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Oryol, Kaluga, Tula, Lipetsk, Voronezh, Tambov, Ryazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd, Rostov regions, the Moscow region, Krasnodar Krai, and Crimea.
