The Boston Bruins have been disrespected so far this offseason as their rankings going
from everything as the prospects to the front office has been near the bottom and this is
frankly getting out of hand.
We're going to be breaking down these latest reports, these articles, going over where
things currently stand according to The Athletic and put them into question and into reality
as to where the Boston Bruins actually stand with all of this.
But before we do get into all of the crazy articles we have here in today's video, folks,
be sure to drop a sub here on the channel if you want to stay up to date with everything
going on with the Boston Bruins.
The offseason is slowly coming to an end and more news is starting to pick up every single
day and we're now at the point where we can say it is almost hockey season, so if you
want to stay up to date with all of your Boston Bruins news, be sure to drop a sub here on
the channel.
We have a lot coming.
You will not want to miss it, but I want to get straight into this and when we go ahead
and look at this article, and I have a couple different ones here, but it all really says
the same thing about what the people at The Athletic, the public, think about the Boston
Bruins.
And this part I'm going to start off with projecting the 2020 or 2030, excuse me, 2031
NHL standings, which teams will be competing for the Stanley Cup.
And I want to start this one out because obviously this is years away.
This is something that can easily change with one trade, but right now, given the projected
lineup and how things look, the Boston Bruins sit at 27.
Now this makes no sense to me and I will tell you why in just a moment.
Before we do though, folks, we do have a word from the sponsor of this video, Anson Belton
Buckle.
You know what ruins a great outfit really fast?
An old beat up belt that doesn't fit right.
Most guys are still wearing the belts, stretched out holes that either pin to your waist or
snag and just throw off your whole look.
That's why I'm excited to have Anson Belt and Buckle as a sponsor of today's video.
Instead of holes, Anson uses the micro adjustable track system with quarter inch increments
so your belt fits perfectly every single time.
Once you experience that kind of fit and comfort, trust me, you will never want to wear a regular
belt again.
I've been wearing mine nonstop and honestly, it's the best I've ever worn.
Once you try it, trust me, you'll never go back to old belts.
If you're wondering why you should trust them, this company that has a proudly family owned
and operated has earned over 40,000 five star reviews with a lifetime guarantee.
They stand behind in every product they make and once you get one, you will see why.

Now, this Bruins team has been in a retool for the past two seasons and I'm still counting
them as they're in that.
They played great last year, 100 points, I think shocked a lot of people but you see
this here from the athletics.
The Bruins have an average at best roster and firm system and trying to win while rebuilding
on the fly is something that usually backfires more often than leading to a contending team.
Now, I think this is a bit different because when we look at a team like the Bruins who
are retooling, they realistically should not have been in that situation.
They have some of the best players in the NHL, have some very highly touted prospects,
although they don't have many, they're in a bit of a different scenario where they're
lucky to have what they have compared to a team like the Calgary Flames who may be
retooling, not exactly having what it would take to find a competitive team out of that
as quick of a turnaround as the Bruins have had and although the Atlantic is going to
get better and all these things play into a factor, 27th is just genuinely ridiculous
in my opinion.
When you have, you know, what's going to be coming up in James Higgins, Dean Letourneau,
Will Sellers, you know, so many more younger names but currently on this Bruins team, J.J.
Paterka, Charlie McAvoy will still be here, although older, same goes for David Pashnok,
Geeky will still be here, Frazier Minton will be extended.
A lot of your best players last year will still be on this team in 2030, 2031, it's
only four seasons away, it's not like it's, you know, ten years away.
27th is ridiculous but I think when we look at how all of this plays into a factor, when
looking at the average age of NHL teams, the Bruins find themselves at ranked 11th, 11th
youngest, 12th youngest, excuse me, 27 years old, 27.44 is the average age and considering
that the Boston Bruins have, you know, some prospects and obviously it is going to be
getting better because of the sheer amount of picks we have, Bruins rank 20th in NHL
pipeline and I gotta say, I'm not mad with this because it's true, you know, they don't
have the deepest prospect pool right now, they did a couple years ago but it was completely
fumbled and I think every Bruins fan knows that for sure but when looking at the list
of prospects here, I mean, James Higgins, Frazier Minton, Dan Sockmills, Dean Lartineau,
I'm gonna skip over Matt Butcher for now but Will Zeller, William Moore, you know, Cooper
Simpson even, going down through this list, they have some very solid prospects that are
only going to be getting better as the years go by, you know, none of these guys right
away will make an immediate impact in the NHL, I think even James Higgins, when we look
at him, will still be, you know, not slow to start the season but will be getting into
a rhythm and all of that within the next 4 years will happen, you know, I think the Bruins
realize now and, you know, I say I think but I hope the Bruins realize now, Cam Neely,
Don Sweeney, that they at least need to get something right when it comes to a prospect
transition to professional hockey, whether it's the AHL or whether it's the NHL, we cannot
have another, and it hurts to say this, another Fabian Lansdell, another Georgie Merkulatov,
the fact that it's more than one player and then you saw the other day as well, some just
left as they were not signed, it's absurd how often this has happened for the Bruins
over recent years and, I mean, given this list, although it's 20th right now, I do think
over the next couple of seasons, you know, maybe, you know, let's just call it 20, 30,
20, 31 season, you're going to see a lot of these names actually make a big impact but
on top of that, you know, the prospect pool is only going to be getting better, you have
4 first round picks over the next 3 years and whether or not the player is drafted and
will make the team, whether the pick is traded, whether the pick is made and then that player
is traded for, you know, another big name, those are all options that will help this
team get better by 2030 and 2031 and I know that's, you know, it's one year that we're
talking about here but next year, the year after, the year after, you want to see this
team get continually better and right now, you know, I don't think they're as bad as
people say but the front office has made a lot of people, you know, kind of worried
about what the future holds and with that being said as well, the Bruins ranked 23rd
in confidence in the front office and when we look at the public to fan base voting,
I think it's fair, you know, obviously, I, a lot of people are hard on Don Sweeney, certainly
right on the occasion but overall, it seems like the public trust more in the cap man,
in the trading, in the free agency more than Bruins fans themselves do and I think trading
is by far the best trade for the Bruins, for Don Sweeney, he's done a very good job at
it and the team has done a good job at it over the past couple of seasons, most notably
getting rid of Brandon Carlisle for Frasier Mitten, I mean, you know, just a phenomenal
deal there as well as a bunch of other ones but this goes to show where the voting is
and how people think that this team, although in a very good spot, maybe in a, you know,
a little interesting spot when it comes to 2030, 2031, you know, four years down the
line.
Now, this athletic article had fans comment on the team and here are two that I want to
pull up because it really shows the contrast between Bruins fans thoughts, this is one
of them, the Bruins won't become a true Stanley Cup team contender until they can start drafting
and developing forwards and I want to point this out before we do continue on with that,
they have quite a few forwards in the prospect list right now and of course, the big thing
is we'll see how they develop but the top six of them are all forwards and that's a
good thing to show here but right now, once again, free agency and trade acquisition have
been enough to keep them competitive but it's not enough to push them into the next tier
of teams so, you know, I completely agree with that and obviously development, I want
to be proven wrong but it has not been good so hopefully that's going to happen with this
next group of players that are making their way in but it also goes with this, a lot of
people do think, you know, pretty tough of Don Sweeney, he's not really on the, you know,
the favorite side of a lot of people and you see this, another one here, a lot of Bruins
fans seem to blindly trash Don Sweeney but the fact that this team has been a contender
for a big chunk of his tenure and as soon as they weren't, he pulled off what looked
like a successful retool at least thus far, you know, it's, you got to give him credit
where credit is due, it's been a good start and although, you know, people are saying
the retool is over, I guess, I don't think it's necessarily over but you're certainly
trending more towards being a legit team even after a 100 point season, then you are still
fully in the retool so, folks, give me your thoughts on that and this is what we have
here, kind of the author of this article, his final thoughts, Sweeney and the Bruins
organization at large feel a bit underrated for their ability to stay competitive for
so long across the eras, they made some mistakes along the way like signing Elias Pettersson
but the J.J. Pitarka trade feels like a good bet and Brandon Carlo's deal was obviously
a masterclass so, you know, even though, like I said, Don Sweeney is not the most favored
GM among Bruins fans, you got to give credit where credit is due and so far, he has not
done the worst but he certainly has not done the best, I mean, obviously, Don Sweeney is
not the one necessarily making all the decisions when it comes to prospects so keep that in
mind as well but, folks, let me know what you think about this, obviously, the NHL is
disrespecting the Bruins pretty badly and I think it comes from a lot of, you know,
credible reporters so give me your thoughts on that down below but that is all I have
here in this video, if you did enjoy, give it a like, hit the sub button as well, I'm
signing out, thank you for watching, hope you have a great day.
