Bruins Make the Moves Everyone Was Waiting For...
1 Video View·Oct 20, 2026
Boston Bruins have been making some major decisions,
and with more changes on the horizon,
this is not the end of the decision-making for Marco Sturm,
as this team opens and continues
this winning streak,
but has a lot of things to still think about as this team continues
to get hot.
Folks, we will have to break down here today,
as we saw in yesterday's game that Zadorov
not play be a healthy scratch with Pavel Zacha out due
to injury a lot has changed but this team
is ready for whatever is to come we're gonna
be breaking everything down here in this video
before we do get into it folks if you haven't already
be sure to drop a sub up here on the channel
we have a lot of content coming you will not want to miss it
and on this win streak so far the
Bruins have made quite a few moves not exactly what
a lot of teams do but Marco Sturm has been
doing everything possible to make sure this team
is in the best position and that means more is
coming and we're gonna have it right here on the channel
so be sure to hit that subscribe button
but folks we need to get into it because
when we go ahead and look at the lineup and the scratch
report from yesterday this was I think the biggest thing
to take note of Nikita Zadorov was a
healthy scratch now not necessarily because of his play
and by play I mean offensive defensive
abilities but it was because of his discipline
his penalty taking has been a very bad and that's
what you see here Marco Sturm referenced Zdorov's penalties
as the reason for this decision to make
him a healthy scratch now this is really just
a warning I wouldn't take anything into this about
you know game after game after game seeing him
a healthy scratch this is simply saying hey we need
you to be better and even though we're winning we need
to take less penalties and I'm sure we know
this is not a new issue Nikita Zadorov since joining the Boston Bruins
and really throughout his NHL
career has been one of the most penalized players
and you know i'm not sure if that's exactly a stat
but that is the case i think there's
no doubt about it now you're looking at this penalties
he's taken have been nine the penalties he drew have
been two you want to have a good margin on
that but i really don't care if the door
of drawing any penalties the biggest thing is to not take
them and he has and tripping elbowing roughing
the handful of penalties that he has had fighting
penalty as well you know there's a lot of things
that just need to be simply cleaned up and i think
that's the biggest way to look at it because the Durov
when playing well when when being disciplined
is a good player obviously limiting the giveaways
is something limiting the penalties but he's a
physical guy he provides a lot of hits generates physicality he
also blocks shots he is a good
voice that this team needs with a lot of young players
who are now emerging and breaking into
this NHL lineup you need a guy like Durov
but you can't have his things rub off on the players
that are currently there like penalties
and a lot of his decision making but you see this here from
Marco Stern you know he don't think this is it
for Durov he said this is a coach decision I do
believe there is another level in him
and I think we all know that as well because we have seen it
but we just haven't seen it consistently yet, and this is going
to be something to keep an eye on over the next couple of games,
but once again, I don't think this is anything
that is going to linger game after game after game,
unless it gets to a breaking point where there's just
no chance you can physically play Durov with confidence.
So, give me your thoughts on this down below as well, but when
we looked at yesterday's game, there were a few different lines.
And I'll see right here that you notice no Pavel Zacha.
He was injured, did not play in yesterday's game, did not warm up.
But that gave Frazier Mintoff a major opportunity
because he is someone that, game by game,
has earned a spot more and more and more to get into a 1C position.
Is he there yet?
A lot of people would say no.
I think a lot of people would also say yes, though.
And given that, given there's an even split,
I think the option would be yes.
Because if you're looking at the rest of the lineup here, obviously,
Lindholm, staying on the third line is the best option
because he's been playing good there as well as that third line.
And I would even go as far as saying, great.
Quattro, getting opportunity with Tien,
Turca, and who's in the D-knock.
But Giki, Mitten, and Poshnok is something
that I think everybody has wanted to see him.
Getting to this point, well, it's just a matter of time.
You're looking at his time on ice,
and obviously that's considered a weakness here.
But he has been on the third line, the second line, the first line.
So that's kind of been all over the place.
So you can't even count that as a weakness right now.
But this season, just under a point per game,
very good on the plus minus, he is someone that more
and more minutes are coming to his game, and you see it right here.
Going back from October 8th to 10th, 15th, 16th, and 17th,
I'll make this bigger here so you can see the actual days as well,
that ice time has significantly increased
to pretty much just about 18 to 20 minutes time on ice,
and he looks comfortable at 20 minutes time on ice.
And, I mean, that's something that we're going
to see continue as long as he's on this first line.
But even throughout this season, you know,
regardless of if he's playing on the second line,
this Bruins team has no option
but to give Frazier Mitten that ice time.
And, you know, the test that was given
to him on the top line, it was successful.
And you see Marco Sturm say this pregame.
As of right now, it will be Mitten starting with Poshok,
and we'll see how it goes.
So this is something that they're going
to continue taking as the season goes on,
as, you know, the injury to Pavel Zalk.
is still being dealt with, to the
surprise of nobody. Frazier-Mitten looked
good there. He felt like he should belong
there, and I think that's what Marco Sturm
was at some point going to do anyways,
but it came a bit earlier with the injury
to Pavel Zaka.
Now, with that being said, though,
Matt Poitras jumping onto that second line, you see
him say this postgame, they got one really
early, but I feel like we're really confident
in our team and game. There's plenty
of time left. Kind of sticking with that and
getting rewarded with it feels good to
get another win on this road trip
and he's been also performing well since
he's been in. More ice time for him is going to be
a benefit, but he's got the mentality
of a leader that a lot of us have already
seen, and a guy like Matt Poitras
from the World Juniors, from him
in the OHL, just kind of building
up that confidence throughout his career
and getting the chance on
this Bruins team after he returned from injury
also put that to a
serious level, and you see this
here from Marco Stern when he said this. Yes,
I mixed up a little bit just to get a little bit more
out of some of the guys and lines, but
It was just great, great team effort today.
So, it's good to know Marco Sturm saw what he liked,
because this lineup, you know, is looking good.
You may have to eventually learn to play without Pavel Zacha,
depending on how the contract negotiations go, trade market.
You may be able to get assets in return, and if you see
this lineup play the way it is, and play well currently without Zaka,
it may give this team a little bit more confidence
to be able to trade him.
So, although the lineup changes did look indeed a little bit different,
you saw it right here, kind of the summary of it, a lot of things
are going to be kind of built up over the next couple of days
and weeks, and especially looking at right here, the depth chart,
you know, there is a lot of, a lot to take away from this,
a lot to like, and a lot that you may see and say,
hey, you know, we can change this here, we can do this,
but at the end of the day, you know, seeing, of course,
Aspro jump into the lineup, not Yoki Haruya there on that left side,
it makes sense, you know, it looks good.
and I'm curious to see where they do end up going from here
with perhaps maybe Higgins,
and I think that third line should stay the same for a little bit
because it's been very good,
and I don't want to see Higgins go in a line which doesn't fit him.
This is going to be interesting to see how it continues to go,
and especially if that 1C and 2C ends up working well.
I mean, Watcher, as you see, the last three games,
he's been very good, a little bit less time on ice,
but it's not enough to actually make a difference in my mind.
He's still getting more and more as the season goes on
and will continue to, but the points are the biggest thing.
Getting on the score sheet, it's a positive result.
But, I mean, overall, this game was good.
You wanted to see a team bounce back with, you know,
a change at the beginning, and they did.
So, it is something to take away.
See how things go, because you're looking at Mitten
be that number two time on ice guy throughout this game.
Behind Posnokov, behind Charlie McAvoy, you know,
you're going to find your success there throughout your main guys.
So, folks, let me know down below what you think about this.
Give me your opinion on what line changes do you think
What mattered most, was it Mitten on the first line,
or was it Astro in for Zadorov?
Which of the two do you think was the biggest factor?
I gotta go away, because we know Zadorov could have a good game,
but Fraser-Mitten on the first line just feels right.
So, give me your thoughts down below,
but that is all I have here in this video.

I am signing out. Thank you for watching. Hope you have a great day.
