Chechen dictator Ramzan Kadyrov's physical condition has reached a critical point of deterioration, which even the tightly censored regional propaganda outlets can no longer conceal. Obvious visual manifestations of his terminal illness and the virtual loss of his ability to move independently are forcing the Kremlin leadership to expedite preparations for an emergency transition of power in the North Caucasus.
The Ukrainian news outlets have uncovered new compelling evidence of the Chechen leader's severe disability, after analyzing an official Chechen television report from August 15, 2026.
The propaganda piece was ostensibly about an inspection of the preparations for the opening of a large Islamic center in Grozny, but experts and social media users focused exclusively on the politician's appearance. The published footage clearly shows Kadyrov moving unnaturally slowly, experiencing severe difficulty walking, and forced to hold tightly to his advisor's hand throughout the filming, using him as a crutch.
Monitoring groups emphasize that Chechen channels have long avoided showing the dictator in action: most videos are cut into one-second fragments, and Kadyrov himself appears in public primarily seated or closely surrounded by his personal guard, who remain at a minimum distance.
Independent investigative journalists and high-ranking sources in international intelligence agencies assess Ramzan Kadyrov's clinical status as "seriously ill" with irreversible deterioration.
According to numerous medical reports, the head of the republic is suffering from progressive, incurable pancreatic necrosis, which developed as a result of a severe systemic endocrine disorder and has caused kidney dysfunction. This manifests itself through frightening, sudden weight fluctuations, severe shortness of breath, bouts of excruciating pain, and regular hospitalizations at the Central Clinical Hospital in Moscow.
The situation is exacerbated by his regular disregard for medical advice and attempts at self-medication, which regularly puts the politician into a coma and forces the Kremlin to urgently seek a replacement.
Kadyrov's rapid decline has already spilled over into the realm of federal politics. This year, for the first time in his career, the Chechen leader lost his position as head of the regional United Russia party group in the parliamentary elections to the State Duma. Moreover, he was physically unable to attend the party congress in Moscow, an unprecedented sign of his weakening apparatus.
For a man who has spent years building his image on demonstrating absolute personal loyalty to Vladimir Putin and his key role in the Russian Federation's power vertical, such a demarche means only one thing: a physical inability to fulfill state duties and the start of the countdown to the end of his reign.
