The incident involving the secret replacement of Donald Trump's plane at a Turkish airport caused a major stir in the United States. However, compared to the methods the Kremlin has been using for years to conceal Vladimir Putin's position, this story seems insignificant. The New York Times writes about this . "Compared to Russia, this is child's play," said investigative journalist Mikhail Rubin. According to him, Putin has long been using a sophisticated system to conceal his true location. Identical offices are set up in his various residences. This allows recordings of meetings to be disguised as being filmed from another location. Journalists found differences between these offices in the smallest details: the placement of door handles, the seams on the walls, and other interior elements. This allowed them to establish that the meeting was not taking place where the Kremlin claimed. Another element of the system is the Russian dictator's special armored train. According to investigative journalists and satellite images, separate railway lines and secret stations have been built for it near at least three of Putin's residences. According to leaks, the train looks like a regular passenger train, but is equipped with special communication equipment, a gym, and a spa area. After Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine, security measures became even stricter. The dictator became especially concerned about his own safety when Ukrainian drones began striking the Russian hinterland. Mobile internet was restricted throughout the country. Official lies about Putin's whereabouts in Russia have become so commonplace that they are perceived as something ordinary. The secrecy surrounding the Russian leader isn't just about his safety. It helps the Kremlin create the image of a leader who is constantly on the job, in control, and in multiple places at once.
Recall, during his visit to Novosibirsk, Kremlin Prime Minister Vladimir Putin publicly declared that he "never feared anything," but the facts tell a different story. It has emerged that the Russian dictator used his backup plane to conceal his location during this trip. This was reported by the publication "We Can Explain". The Kremlin leader's secret was inadvertently revealed by propagandists at the state-run TASS news agency. While covering his tour of Siberia and the Far East, they leaked the plane's registration number. It turned out to not be his main plane, but a backup one, which had been used as a distraction for the past few years. The aircraft in question is a long-haul Il-96 aircraft, tail number 96020. Putin flew on it in the first half of the 2010s. However, the aircraft was later used to transport Kremlin propaganda agents and to guard the Russian dictator. The head of the Kremlin often flies on three planes at once for secrecy purposes. It is noteworthy that during Putin's arrival in Novosibirsk, his main aircraft, number RA-96022, was cruising in the European part of the country, deflecting threats.
