Oprah Winfrey shocks Keke Palmer by revealing her real name

Kiki Palmer was stunned to find out the one and only Oprah Winfrey is actually Orpa Winfrey. On Baby This Is Kiki Palmer, the talk show legend confirmed that her legal name is in fact spelled O-R-P-A-H. However, growing up, she said nobody knew how to spell it and Oprah stuck. Once they started with Oprah, that's it. I didn't learn until I was like probably 20 or something that, oh, this isn't really Winfrey quickly turned the questions on to Palmer and pointed out that she also has a different name on her birth certificate, Lauren Kiana Palmer. Oprah's real name isn't news to anyone who watched her show. It premiered on September 8th, 1986, ran for 25 seasons, and aired its final show on May 25th, 2011. Fans also know that Winfrey's media empire, Harpo Productions, is simply Oprah, not Orpa, spelled backwards. Since ending the Oprah Winfrey show, the former daytime diva launched her own TV channel, OWN, and famously interviewed Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in 2021 in a two-hour CBS special that rocked the world. Just this week, Oprah joked with Vanity Fair about that bombshell interview. Were you silent or were you silenced? Okay. Very nice. I don't think I've done it since. I don't know where the hell that came from. And earlier this year, she made headlines for another podcast appearance, this time by her longtime friend, Gayle King, who revealed on Call Her Daddy that the two BFFs butted heads over rumors that they were secretly dating. However, King felt differently since she was recently divorced, while Winfrey had been in a relationship with Stedman Graham since 1986. Either way, it's proof that after decades in the spotlight, Oprah's name still has everyone talking.
