Jenn Pedranti unpacks Vicki Gunvalson's 'RHOC' freak out with VRT — and gives major wedding update

Vicky will tell you right off, I'm not talking about this. I'm not talking about this. I don't want to talk about this. So if it comes up, she gets frustrated. Like, like there's like, we were supposed to respect those conversations not coming up, but you know, our lives are out there. And so it's like, as my girlfriend, if you're going through something, how do I not ask you? Jen Pedranti from The Real Housewives of Orange County. We love you so much. And it feels like it's been way too long. It has. I didn't see you guys last year. Yeah, I mean. So I missed you. Last year was tougher for you. This year is a little bit easier, even if Vicky's calling you low-hanging fruit. I know! Like, what the hell? What the hell is that? So like, you know, every fruit is needed in the fruit salad. You know what I mean? Oh, thank you. That's a good way to look at it because it certainly didn't feel like that. I mean, how did it feel to hear her say that? Like, oh, that's why I pick on Jen because she's low-hanging fruit. Like, I mean, that is rude. It was funny because the whole group can be like saying something at Vicky and she's like, where's Jen? Jen! Like, and so when she said it, I'm like, oh, it makes sense. And then I thought, wait, what is she saying? That's such an asshole thing to say. And it's so funny with Vicky. Like, on one hand, she can be such like, say the craziest, rudest things. And then on the other hand, you love her. Like, she does have this very nurturing, where on one hand you're like, God, screw this woman. And then on the other, you're like, okay, what do you need? You know, how can I help you? I also feel it's a thing because she is usually screaming at people when she's upset about something in her life, like with Michael or something like that. So you're like, I get where you're coming from and I don't want to like dog you while you're feeling down, but also why do you have to make us all feel down with you? It's just interesting with Vicky because I feel like we're asked to be together and open up and share our lives. And then, but Vicky will tell you right off, I'm not talking about this. I don't want to talk about this. So if it comes up, she gets frustrated. Like there's like, we were supposed to respect those conversations not coming up, but you know, our lives are out there. And so it's like, as my girlfriend, if you're going through something, how do I not ask you about it? I feel like a bad friend. And it was also so weird because in the hot tub when she kind of was like, I'm bored. And then. No, you don't understand. That didn't start in the hot tub. Like the whole drive there, she's like, she's like bored the whole time. And we're in the back seat. Like, is that rude? What do you want us to do? So then I like, you and Emily were like, I guess we could talk about how you be fun to me. Yeah, how do we make you not bored? She is, that is Vicky. Or she'll, then she's just like, I'm going to make a work call or she wants to get on her laptop. And it's like, but this is a girl's trip. Like, what are you doing? What do you make of the whole Mike situation with the ring and the good girl behavior? It's kind of, I mean, as a viewer, it makes me sad for Vicky, that she's dealing with that in her relationship because it doesn't feel good. Oh, it can't feel good. Right. And I've met him several times and he's, Ryan and I both like him very much. And I was surprised when I heard the ring that he had this ring and it was like a dangling carrot and good girl behavior. And Vicky, like she takes up for him. I don't even care about the ring. It's not about the ring. But one thing I know about Vicky is she's a girl and she has feelings and you love your man. How would you, any girl would be like, he's sitting on the ring. Why do I not have it? And just like you said, it makes me sad. It makes me sad for her. Cause it'd be one thing if they just were like, eh, marriage is not for us. But the fact that the ring exists, that's where it's like, it's in the house. It's in there. And yeah, if Ryan did that, it would almost frustrate me to a point of like, then get rid of the ring. Cause I'm not going to perform for our relationship to deserve the ring. And that's got to be hard for Vicky. I do love though in the confessional where you were like, when Vicky called you the new girl and you were like, I've been here for four years. Where have you been? I haven't seen you in four years. But you know, it's true. And it's a little disrespectful, you know? And I understand I'm new and I understand the hierarchy and I respect it and I respect Vicky, but like, don't come in and throw that at me. I've been with these women for the last four years and you haven't, I'm so happy you're back, but give me a little respect. And four years really is a feat within the context of RHOC because there have been a lot of one and dones in the history of Real Housewives of Orange County, but you have stuck around for four years. To what do you attribute your, I would call it longevity at this point. Longevity, wow, thank you for saying that. I don't know. I think I'm just, I just, I really do value the friendships with the women. I really do. My life isn't perfect and I'm okay showing that and it's bit me in the rear end several times, but I think that's our job. Like be here, be real, show it. Don't try to pretend that it's one way when it's not. And I'm just gonna keep doing that until it doesn't work. You really are so beautifully vulnerable on the show and especially this season with your kids. How has, and I mean, you always have been open with your family on it, but this season feels like it is, it's a little heavier and different. How are you doing with the kids? Somebody asked me about the platform and things that you learned from it. And I will tell you, if you were to sit with me, the one thing I would tell you is like, when it comes to my kids, I got it. Like I am close with those kids. I know everything about those kids. And when I sat down with some of those conversations on camera that my son said that I had never heard, I'm telling you, I'm like, what am I missing? And I think the message for parents is even the best moms and the best dads, we think we know, and we don't always know. Right, and that's like so heartbreaking. That's what would make me scared to be a parent because if I found out that my child was secretly being bullied and then I found out, like that is just so, I mean, how is he doing with that right now? Because even when he told you, there was like the way he expressed himself was so mature and it almost seemed like he was at peace with it, which in a way I was like, okay, I'm glad that he's emotionally regulated about it, but it also made me sad how normal it felt for him. Right, you know what's crazy about Grayson is when this topic comes up with him about being bullied and I'm like, what and who and why? And I wanna get in there like, and he's like, he'll stop me and he'll be like, mom, it is about them, it's not about me. And I think to myself, okay, do you really feel that? Because if you feel that way, you are light years ahead of any of us. Or are you masking and do we need to have a deeper conversation? And that's where it's like, I've had to learn with him. If I lean in too much, he's gonna stop. But if I kind of just sit back, maybe he'll keep talking and I'm learning as I go too. I've got five kids and I'm still learning. I know, wow, he used to teach them the housewives. He's like, it's about them, not me. No, that's what he'll tell me. It's more about them and something they're going through. And how old is he now? 17. To have that mindset at 17 is actually incredible. Says a lot about your parenting. Oh, thank you. Do you know what I mean? I wish I could take that, but honestly, he's just a great kid. Yeah, oh, you're so lucky. And they're so lucky to have you as a mom. And they're also lucky to have Ryan in their lives. He's there. When are we getting married? Because people love to make that joke. Are you sitting down? Yes. We're sitting down. Do you have a date? We do. We set it. Shut up. We set the date. We're doing it right before the kids' spring break. So it's beginning of April. You can still wear a bikini if you want. I can. My mom, I was just saying, I was on the phone with my mom. Cause Ryan's like, we've got to call your parents. Cause obviously mom and dad are very, you know, I'm from a very old school family and they love Ryan. Like, so just tie this up. Like, let's do this. And so Ryan said, we got to call your mom. And we told mom and dad, like, we booked the boat and this is how we're doing it. And mom's like, okay, but what's your dress? And I'm like, well, mom, like, there'll be a wrap or you know, something, I haven't got, yeah. And she's probably like, thank God she's getting married. Please God, don't let it be in a bikini. But yeah, we booked it. Amazing. Congratulations. I know, you better get married in a bikini at this point because it would be iconic and you do have the body for it. Well, thank you. It's really cool to see. Well, I'm marrying Ryan. Right, who also has the body for it. There's much choice other than, it was funny when Ryan and I were telling my mom and dad, he said, we're going to do the, like, the ceremony part on the boat, right. Kind of like right when we get on. And then Ryan's like, and then we're going to get to like the music and the drinks and the jumping in the water. And mom goes, so she's not wearing a dress. You know, it's like, it's okay, mom. You're gonna have a good time. Wow. On a boat too, that's fun. Are all the ladies invited? For sure. I'm in a spot where I would literally invite all the ladies. Are we doing a bridal party? I mean, I hate that stuff. You hate that, okay. I hate that stuff. But what I would love is like girls, guys, like get everybody together and let's go take a trip somewhere and do something like that. Like a co-ed bachelorette. Yeah, let's do that. Cute. I love that. And everyone's invited to that too? Everyone. Even Vicky? Even Vicky. Wow. Okay, come catch a slow hanging fruit, Vicky, yeah. You know why? That's not to say that I don't appreciate it. I find it very rude. But this season, I feel like I'm with my girls. Like I feel like I'm with my girlfriends. And even though we have rub and annoyances, I feel safety in our friendships that we can bring these things up and we're gonna find a resolve. It's also nice to see you and Tamera in a better spot. I mean, who would have thought after you stole her hair extensions? That was my favorite part. That was the best fight, honestly. That was good. That was really good. Yes, it was so good. It's so funny. To be fighting about hair extensions on Housewives, it's so perfect. It's so delicious. It's so good, yeah. It's wow, it's interesting. It seems like Tamera is like a reformed Tamera this season. She is. Yeah, right? She is. The things aren't poking her like they used to. And listen, if anybody was here to doubt it, I was like, oh, we've been here before. When is the shoe gonna drop? And she just kept, I'm telling you there's something different. Do you think that maybe, because I was really gagged when she revealed that she and Eddie almost had like a divorce situation. I didn't know that either. And so maybe that was part of the reason why she was not getting along with you. Listen, she went through that with Teddy. That is somebody in her life that she is the closest to. So there's Teddy. And then to hear Eddie, I'm like, who wouldn't be taken aback by this? And so I don't know if it's perspective. I don't know if it's life. But I'm telling you, I would be lying if I said there weren't moments throughout the season that I'm like, oh boy here, if anything's gonna, here we go. She's gonna roar her that side and she didn't. She didn't. Okay, that's good. And also especially, sometimes people can ignite the sides. I know last season, her and Gretchen did not get along, but we're also seeing a returning face because Alexis and Shannon didn't get along. And now Alexis comes back. But I saw a little interview Shannon and Heather did together. And it looks like Heather gave Alexis the smoke. I mean her. Fancy pants. Just it was, I was like, wait, is that Alexis? And I didn't know where I stood with Alexis, but then I'm like, oh, cause I've gotten very close with Shannon. And I'm like, oh shoot. So I'm like worrying about Shannon and all the while, I'm like, it was fancy pants the whole time. I didn't know she had that in her for Alexis. Cause I didn't know they had. I thought they were cool. I didn't. I thought so too. Yeah. But. Wow. Shannon's back it seems. Or did fancy pants have her own agenda? Fancy pants took care of business. Wow. As she does. As she does cause we really liked last episode or two episodes ago when she owned the Carmela. Yeah. Where she was just like, hey, before I got to know you, I called you trashy. Right. And I'm sorry about that. The accountability. I feel like that's coming a long way. Yeah. For Heather. Because the Heather that, the one thing that always threw me off with Heather was like, I love her. But when, whenever something comes back on her, I felt like it was kind of like, oops, hands clean. I don't, I don't want to get my hands dirty. And whenever I heard that she went right into Carmela and owned it, I was like, look at that growth. I mean, that's a great, that's a great growing place for Heather because she doesn't love the things that come back on her. And what do you make of, while like Carmela was like, okay, that's great. Tamara and Gina don't really want Carmela to, it seems like Tamara and Gina don't really want Carmela to forgive Heather that easily, where she's like, she just wanted to get ahead of it. Well, you have to understand, Carmela is brand new with this friend group and Tamara and Gina, we all have our things. Like I remember hearing for all these years, like Jen has convenient amnesia. And then I watched myself back and I'm like, oh, I kind of don't remember that. I kind of conveniently forgot about that. I love it, honestly. I do. I love it. But I'm trying. I'm going to try. Let's try. And so the one thing for Heather is you have to know, like Tamara and Gina have seen this for so long. Like, you know, so the accountability feels good amongst us women to be like, okay, look at Heather, taking some accountability. I don't think it's that Tamara and Gina want Carmela to stay mad. I think they're more like, Heather, this has happened. You kind of have this pattern. This is your pattern. We all have a thing. And I think it was more like grateful that Heather took ownership on that. And also working in Heather's favor is that Carmela seems to be a very forgiving person. Like she can move on, which is great. And we need a housewife who can just like get on with some resolve. You know what I mean? Well, I mean, she's a little hung up on Vicky right now. Rightfully so though. That's fair. I will tell you, Vicky's given it to her. So there comes a point when enough is enough, but I will say Carmela is a hundred percent forgiving. Like she's a girl's girl. I can't wait for you to meet her. I think we're meeting her next week. Oh, you are. You are. We love her. You are going to meet her. So I hope she doesn't hear this question. Well, actually, because we'll talk to her about it. Because it seems like a lot of people feel she's too forgiving with the man. Do you think that? Yeah, I do. Yeah, a little bit. I do. She, listen, everybody deserves change. Everybody deserves to be forgiven if that's what you choose. But then there comes a point when Carmela's got to love Carmela and say no more. Yeah. It seems just very, and I feel like she almost feels, and I love that all of you ladies really rallied around her when she was just like, he just is helping with the kids and everything. And people are like, that's a bare minute. That shouldn't be like. That shouldn't even be something that like, that's just, it's common. Yeah. If he's in your life for 10 years, he should be helping with the kids. And that's a big thing for Carmela. Her kids have, she's gone through a lot with her divorce. So when it comes to like, she'll do whatever to keep those kids like happy and feeling like whole. And I think he played such a role for 10 years that that's one of the reasons she wants to keep him around because it's for the kids. Yeah, totally. And that's probably also why she, maybe having smoke for Vicky and not letting go of the Vicky situation because Vicky brought up the sort of like abandonment situation. But what I loved about Carmela, I think it was in a confessional. She was like, one thing I know about me is I'm a good mom and Vicky can't take that away from me. Which I was a little bit out of pocket for Vicky to bring up in that sense like that. And I'm glad that Heather. Oh, yeah. Fancy pants is actually what I'll be wearing. We are not to stand down. We are not doing this. I remember sitting, we were in Vegas and I was like. It was almost like Heather wasn't even there. We joked like she like just descended like. And I was like, here's Heather. Heather did. Heather was like, not the kids. But I feel like, you know, as someone who's been doing Housewives for like 20 years, like Vicky kind of knows, like kids are off limits. Like that's the number one rule of Housewives. But you know what I think about Vicky? It's almost like it's Vicky. Tamara or somebody said every season's like Vicky's first season. I've been in things and I'm like, hold on, this is the OG. Does she not know? Or she just, she just, she thinks it and it comes right out of her mouth. And also like, you're the OG you should know. If you storm to production and say, get out of my house, they're gonna film it and use it. That might be used. There's a chance. Something tells me that might be used. Like we'll see that, yeah. Three hours away from everything. Everyone leave. I love like you and Emily, like do we go in our pajamas? Like what the? Oh, that night got really weird really fast. I know. And like poor Shannon just trying to make pasta, like pizza in peace. Oh, this is the Shannon. She's like, do, do, do, like flipping pizza. And we're both like, what are you doing? So painfully awkward, but so good. He has been so Shannon. I know, I love, cause I love that you, I think you asked her in the car if she saw the man she made out with in the Uber, but he's with someone half her age, I guess now. I love that she's in the era though, where she's down to make out in cars though. Shannon's making out in cars. I mean, I tell my kids, don't you dare. I'm like Shannon, get in there. Get in the car, make out girl. I feel this season in particular, she's kind of getting back to a better sense of herself. I would agree. Yeah. I agree. I, you know, I can't wait for Shannon to find her partner because she's so deserving of it. Right. And she's like a relationship girl. I think she's, I mean, she has been through some terrible relationships, but I feel like her baseline is she feels better in a relationship. So I just hope she finds a guy who like treats her with respect and doesn't John Jansen her. Or what was the first husband's name? David. Oh my God. Wait, but speaking of how she treating with respect, I really, I was honestly kind of shocked in a great way that she was sticking up for you so much in front of Vicky. Yeah. It's like, I know, to go against Vicky is not an easy task. Well, and to go against, for Shannon to go against Vicky, because they have years of a deep, deep friendship. The only thing I'll say, and I speak very candid to Shannon and she does with me too. Shannon seems like Vicky's friendship is everything to Shannon. Sometimes it doesn't feel that way from Vicky. Like it doesn't feel like it means as much to Vicky as it does for Shannon. So for Shannon to take a flyer and take up for me to Vicky, I'm like, that means a lot. That says a lot about the bond you guys have developed with Teresa. Yeah. And I liked her because she was trying to even give, she's like, Vicky, I wouldn't like it if someone called me that. And I feel like that's so true because I feel that with Shannon trying to be like, Vicky, how would you feel if someone called me that? And Vicky is like, I'm okay. Yeah. Yeah, I don't care. I don't care. And you know what? She doesn't. She's the first to tell you. Yeah, she's like, I don't care. And it seems like the comment didn't really bother you, but maybe just the principle of it. It's funny. I have to do better with this. We had just arrived. We had just got to this beautiful home, poured one drink, set out back. And it was like, I was excited because I hadn't had the bonding time with Vicky and it came right out from go. And I'm like, and I remember thinking like, do I say something now or just let it go, Jen? We just got here. This is a girl's night. We're gonna just let it go. And every time I hear it back, I'm like, that is such a thing to say. And also, cause that's what we were saying. We're like, oh, I'm like, Jen just has a manner. She's in Vicky's house. They just sat down. Maybe it was going to let it brush off, but I don't, I'm glad that you took the time to realize, no, I want to process that and let her know it wasn't okay. Cause it's like, I'm not a throw. I'm here just as much as you are here. You can't just throw me out. Yeah. And why am I low hanging for? What about my life is so disrespectful that I'm whatever I do or don't do is so beneath. Like, why do you see me that way? Yeah. That's also, she's like, I don't know you, you're new, but you can use my relationship timeline as a throwaway line though. Yeah. You know what I mean? So it's like, what is it? What is it for you? I agree. You told us that you don't think Carmela is going anywhere. And I love that she has the jump Adronte staying power. How do you think Vicky will feel about Carmela hanging out for more than one season? I think they're going to have to figure it out. And I think it's really not Carmela's job at this point. It's Vicky's job. Carmela has done nothing but been good to Vicky. And I think now Vicky is going to have to come around. Do you think Vicky will ever get a do our bag? Cause you have gotten yourself a do our bag from Carmela, which is so exciting. I can't wait for my next birthday. Did you get it for your birthday? I got it for my birthday. Oh hell yeah. Oh my God. You showed it to us. It's so cute. You know what? When I met Carmela, she told me about her girlfriends and how important her girlfriends are. And this is what they do. So for people to be like, why is she coming into this friend group? She's trying to buy in. No, she's not. She's doing what she does and how she operates. And she's a powerhouse. Cause like, I want to just dole out all my doors to all my girlfriends. I kind of thought it was a flex where she's like, I feel like in her head, she's like, it's a, to her she's like, it's a do our bag. It's a do our bag. You know what I mean? She's like, it's a do our bag. Yeah. I'm like, love that Carmela. I'm like, it's a Yankee candle. A Yankee candle. Which is also a great gift. Which we love. Yeah, exactly. Marshalls. I'm trying to like scrape it off the bottom. Actually, I don't know if you saw I love it. That's our style. I'm here for it. I can resonate. I know. And I guess the only thing that Carmela did, I think maybe called Vicky Betty White. Yeah. Which Betty White is an icon. An icon for sure. She was in her nineties as an icon. I also love the flashback of Betty White with Heather Dubrow. Like the fact that they like were in each other's orbit. Yes, exactly. Like the fact that Bravo had that footage. That's amazing. Incredible. With love to Heather. I know Heather was like, hey, I once met Betty White. Heather's probably like, just in case you forgot there is footage. If you go here. Oh my God. We love Heather.
