Hello friends.
Welcome to day 199 of betting $100 every day for a year.
Yesterday's Red Sox Orioles game got postponed to today.
So yesterday's bet counts as a push, but we did win the other
two bets which left us with a record of 2-0-1 for a profit
of $75.31.
That brings our year-to-date record to 338 wins, 362 losses,
12 pushes for a profit of $118.81.
We are back up above the $100 profit mark, which means if we
ever suffer a reverse sweep, we'll still be in the green at
least for now.
All right, let's move on to today's MLB action for bets including
two underdog bets for the afternoon slate.
Let's dive into them.
We're going to start with $20 on the Pirates plus 150 against
the New York Yankees.
I know the Yankees have the pitching advantage in this matchup
with Garrett Cole taking on Mitch Keller.
But if we look at the offensive numbers for these two teams
lately, I think there's going to be a little bit of value here
on the Pirates because over the past 30 days, the Pirates lead
all Major League Baseball teams in WRC plus while the Yankees
rank 29th in that metric.
And also over the past 30 days, I think they're batting like
2-0-4 or something.
So not good.
That I think justifies the Pirates at plus 150.
I think a little bit of value there.
Second bet is going to be $20 on the Orioles plus 130 against
the Red Sox.
Pretty much the same bet as it was yesterday.
Red Sox have a different pitcher going, but it is another
lefty. But for the same reason, I like the Orioles at plus
125 yesterday.
I like them at plus 130 today.
I just don't think their numbers really pop off the page for
a team that has a 14-game win streak.
For example, they rank 9th in the majors in WRC plus over the
past 30 days.
Only 22nd when facing right-handed pitchers and they face
a right-handed pitcher today.
For my third bet, I have $30 on the Tampa Bay Rays minus
104 against the Toronto Blue Jays.
I do not know how the Blue Jays are favored.
It's over, my friends, my fellow Blue Jays fans. Last year
was our chance to win the World Series.
This team is a disaster.
Whether it's poor play, injuries, poor management, whatever
you want to point at, I just don't think there's any recovering
from this team.
How are they favored with Braden Fisher on the mound against
the best team in the AL East?
I do not know. Dead last in Major League Baseball and WRC
plus over the past 30 days.
I can't hit a beach ball at this point.
Meanwhile, the Rays rank 4th in that time frame.
I just have no idea why the Rays aren't significant favorites
in this game.
So $30 on the Rays minus 104.
And then finally $30 on the Rangers minus 108 against the
White Sox. Battle of lefties in this game between Anthony
Kaye of the White Sox, Tyler Alexander of the Rangers.
Not only does Tyler Alexander have the better numbers, but
the Rangers have been one of the best teams against left-handed
pitchers this season.
They are third in the majors in WRC plus when facing lefties
White Sox coming at 12th.
I think that's enough to justify a bet on the Rangers at
minus 108 at home.
Those are my bets for today's MLB action.
Best of luck to all of your bets.
Gamble or bless.
We'll see you back here tomorrow.
