This just got even BETTER...
Jul 16, 2026
This is a lot better than what we thought. Now we know it's early, it's summer league,
we've yet to get to the preseason and the regular season, but one NBA writer saying that the number
three overall pick of this year's draft could end up being the total package, the total superstar,
and who is he next to when it comes to ranking NBA players in 2030? What's going on everybody?
Thank you so much for tuning in to this video of Grizzlies Digest, bringing you the latest news and

got some World Cup action. You had some very exciting action, very disappointing action for
the England football team against Argentina going back to the World Cup grand final against
Spain. Last time Spain won was 2010. Argentina going for back-to-back. So hey, get your picks,

So talking about Cam Boozer, now this may actually be arguably the second best draft
pick in Grizzlies history. At least that's what some NBA writers, NBA media, they're talking about
because when it comes to ranking the top players in 2030, and this is from Bleach Report,
we have a lot of great names here on the board. Now we have Tyrese Maxey at number
nine, or actually we'll start with Lamel Ball at number 10, Tyrese Maxey at number nine,
and then you've got this kid right here, Cameron Boozer on that list at number eight. Now of course
there's still a long ways to go, but he is on top of AJ Diabatsa as well as Darren Peterson.
Now those two guys were picked before Cam Boozer in 2026, but it goes to show how he's really the
complete package. He has the size to make an MVP run. I mean who knows what the Grizzlies are doing
when it comes to playoffs in the next few seasons. Obviously I think they're growing,
they're slowly growing to a young team that can really grow for the next at least five,
six years together you think. That is if they stick together and if Zach Lyman works his magic
and pretty much kind of stays out the way for the most part. But this is Cam Boozer at number eight,
and above Diabatsa and Darren Peterson, it's really saying something. So let's get into what
he's talking about. By the way this article from I want to highlight Andy Bailey of Bleacher Report.
Now four years from now Cam Boozer is going to be 22, and he says surprise not only do we have
all three of this this summer's top three picks in the top 12 of this exercise, but we also have
taken third ranked higher than Diabatsa and Peterson. The reasoning is similar to what's
found on the Peterson side. Cameron Boozer should get more opportunities, show off his abilities,
and more time to develop on the floor than either of the players taken before him. But it's more
than that. Boozer might also have the highest floor of any of these three prospects because
he does so many little things well like rebounding, passing, and shooting,
it's hard to envision the world in which Boozer is ever a negative impact player.
He has all the tools that you need, right? I mean he's tall and strong enough to rebound
and get in the paint and score. He is a phenomenal passer. He's a high IQ player.
He can shoot the ball at a pretty nice clip from deep. He is Mr. Everything,
and I think it's time to actually take into effect what this pick is going to do
for Memphis' future, and this proves it right here. I mean, number eight,
and then for other contexts, I talked about Maxie at number 10, excuse me, I don't know why I keep
doing that, Lamelo Ball at number 10, Maxie at number nine, Cam Boozer at eight, and he is right
behind Kate Cunningham at number seven. And then if you really want to go deep down into it,
it's Cooper Flagg at number six, and then you start getting into Shea Gildas Alexander,
Luka Doncic, Jokic, Wim Benyama, and the list kind of, you know, those are
MVP championship caliber players that will lead their team for years to come,
and I think that's the same for Kate Cunningham's future. I think that's the same for Cooper Flagg's
future, but this is interesting to see that Boozer is fitting the timeline, again, I hate that word,
but I'm going to use it anyway because it makes sense here, fitting the timeline of this Grizzlies
team. Now, they have shown some prominence already the past couple of years to the guys that have
already been under this Grizzlies system and this Grizzlies culture, but for Washington,
they're, it's almost like for the last few years that they have been,
well, we've been going from the ground up. Well, you've been at that spot for a while now,
and now for the Grizzlies, they got rid of John Morant, and Jerm Jackson, Desmond Bain,
and Dylan Brooks. Now, they're clearly starting a near future, but then for the Jazz, they have a
lot of different guys to use. They have a lot of big guys. Well, they got rid of Walker Kessler.
Walker Kessler went to the Lakers, but they still have Markinan, Jerm Jackson Jr., and
now you've got a load of guards there for Utah, and who knows how that's going to work out,
but basically, Cam Boozer's in the perfect place. When you compare those three guys,
those three rookies, Cam Boozer's in the best place possible, and if you really want to know
how he's been getting started, if you missed some of the Summer League action,
let's take a look at what they're talking about here with Zach Buckley. Report card grades
for the top 2026 NBA rookies at the Las Vegas Summer League, and again, Cam Boozer highlighting
him, and this is just phenomenal work again by the folks at Bleacher Report. When folks were
setting long-term ceilings and floors before the draft, Cam Boozer always received strong marks
for the latter. With his skill versatility, he looked just like someone who could adapt
to virtually any situation he'd encounter on the hardwood. He lived up to that scouting report
during his Las Vegas debut, despite being the highest profile rookie on the Grizzlies in a
matchup with Caleb Wilson. Boozer didn't force the issue. He tied three Grizzlies for the second
most field goal attempt, 7 of 12, 1 of 1 from deep, 5 of 5 at the line, while netting a team
high 23 points, orchestrating the offense away from the basket, powered his way to buckets,
handled the basketball very well, worked both sides of screenplays, and flashed a little bit
of defensive playmaking with an open floor strip of Wilson and a block at the basket.
Boozer's stat line also included six rebounds and four assists,
albeit against four turnovers. He looks polished and poised, which is both expected
but also remarkable when remembering he's an 18-year-old rookie. It's a solid start
for a player who appears solid or better in just about every aspect already, and they gave him an
A-. But that's exactly what, you know, we're talking about here. I mean, he is such a mature
player for what he is. Again, we forget he is an 18-year-old kid, just like Cooper Flagg was
starting out last year. And again, so poised, mature, just like Buckley says here,
and just looks like he's ready. He looks like he's ready for the moment. He looks like he's
ready to lead this team. And we talk about a bunch of possible young leaders on this team,
but when you really get down to, like, who's ready to take it, again, much respect to Cedric
Howard, much respect to Zach Eadie, but Cam Boozer looks like he can do it all, and he's so confident
on the floor. And that's why this pick is going to do so many wonders for this team. Now, of course,
we went over it on draft night. Excuse me. Don't know what's going on with me. We went over on
draft night of how him and Kareem Lopez are going to work so well together. Richie Saunders has a
great outside shot. Again, I think Richie Saunders is a fine player. I just think he fell in the
draft because of his lingering injury that he had a BYU, and very serious injury, I should add.
But this rookie class, they're going to go places. And we've said that about the past couple of
rookie classes now. But this right here, again, away from John Morant, it's nice knowing you,
but now for Cam Boozer, this is his to take. And he's going to be one of the top players,
if healthy, if he projects well, and if he's still polished, poised, and if he becomes a
team leader, he is going to be one of the best players on the planet in the next four years.
