This will UNLOCK the Grizzlies... MAJOR Grizzlies Update | Memphis Grizzlies News

This will absolutely unlock the Memphis Grizzlies as Zach Eadie, the rookie from Purdue,
the back-to-back national player of the year, wasn't driving under head coach Taylor Jenkins,
former head coach Taylor Jenkins I should say, but now thriving under interim head coach Tuomas
Iasalo. Zach Eadie on a tear. We'll take a look at that. Also going over a very unfortunate event
that happened in the Memphis-Charlotte game. Memphis did get the win. They've been on a little
bit of a win streak now. Don't look now. Knock on wood. But we do have to unfortunately go over
some unfortunate events that happened in the Memphis-Charlotte game pertaining to
their other rookie Jalen Wells. What's going on everybody? Jared Alatorre here for another
episode of Grizzlies Digest bringing you the latest news, rumors, updates, injury reports,
game breakdowns, and so much more on everything Grizzlies related. If you find yourself here
regularly, the answer is yes. And if your question before that was should I hit that subscribe
button? Yes, you should because we have the latest updates and so much more. We have so much content
we're putting out here on Grizzlies Digest and we're not stopping. We're going to continue to
put that content up here so you never miss another upload from us. But going into the content right
now and we'll have to start unfortunately with this Jalen Wells. Phenomenal rookie,
mild-mannered young man who's been playing his tail off all year long. He had a fall
in the Charlotte-Memphis game on Tuesday night. I will not show the video out of respect for
Wells and his family and the team and just for the sake of everything else, you can look at the
video on your own on X, YouTube, elsewhere. I will not show the video on here personally.
That was my decision. But Shams says Memphis Grizzlies rookie Jalen Wells is awake, alert,
and moving his extremities after being taken off court in a stretcher. That was Tuesday night in
Charlotte. That's what his agent told ESPN. Wells has sustained a broken right wrist and will
continue receiving medical care. So, obviously not great news. A stunning injury. The arena,
very silent for a long time. Everybody just praying, hoping for the best for Wells
and a full speedy recovery. It was a very unfortunate event that happened,
especially this late in the season. But I think the real people that care,
fans and family, friends, everybody else, they're just hoping. The collapse of the fall,
if you've seen it, was just so bad that you don't even really care about what the Grizzlies
do from here on out without him. You're just wishing and hoping and praying for a speedy
recovery. Because, like I said, he's a mild-mannered man. He works his tail off.
He's probably going to be on the NBA All-Rookie First Team this year,
maybe along with his teammate Zach Eaddy, who knows. But I do think he'll make All-Rookie First
Team this year. He's only going to get better. His ceiling is rising so quickly. And just a shame
that a young man like that had to suffer such a serious injury. And we're lucky that it was not
anything worse than that. So full speedy recovery, praying for Jalen Wells. And John Moran also had
something to say on it as well after the game. He says, it's tough, man. First thing I seen was
blood and I got a weak stomach. It's tough, especially for someone who's playing a lot of
minutes and being real productive. So yeah, that's pretty much the story right there. I mean,
he's only gotten better. He has such a calm, poised part to his game. So you hope for the
best for Jalen Wells. Going into Zach Eaddy on absolutely unlocking Memphis's potential right
now. As we get into his stat line, this was from the Detroit game over the weekend, okay? Six
points but 21 rebounds. And then if you break that down, you got 14 defensive rebounds,
seven offensive rebounds. This is the Zach Eaddy that we've been wanting to see, okay? The back-to-back
national player of the year. He can finally put the haters all to bed, you know, because he's
being unlocked in ways that we haven't seen him do this year. I mean, he's not the, not yet maybe,
the same dominant offensive guy that we saw always calling for the ball, always backing down
his man down low in the post, jamming the ball down like it was nothing. I mean, I don't know
if we're going to see any of that from Eaddy, but he can put up phenomenal numbers in both points
and rebounds, okay? So again, this was from the Detroit game. Zach Eaddy had 21 rebounds,
tied for the most rebounds in a game by a rookie in the past decade. So obviously,
there's some kind of difference because we've quickly seen a difference between
Taylor's game and Tuomas' game. And that is putting in Zach Eaddy whenever he needs to.
I mean, if you just want to look and see the difference of what we've seen from him,
right here, look, barbecued chicken against Mark Williams, respectable postman. Look at him,
just jam it down. And the foul. Look at him celebrate with Jaron Jackson and John Morant.
I mean, he just jams the ball down like it's nothing. I mean, if you give him that space,
if you're a defender, you give him that much space, that deep in the post, it's over. I mean,
Zach Eaddy is a dominant post player and he proves it right there against Mark Williams.
I mean, he is, I don't even say he's back. I mean, he's right where he was, but
perhaps there's a little bit of a change. And that's what he even said. He talked about Tuomas
and how it's being operated now. Zach Eaddy on how the Grizzlies have changed under interim
coach Tuomas. He says, the way we play is definitely different. We set more ball screens.
Okay. So more ball screens, more lobs, more opportunities, get him deep down in the post
and watch a defender trying to guard him. They can't, they cannot guard him. All right.
And then going into the stat line for the Charlotte game, right? So 16 points, 17 rebounds,
two steals. I don't look at the plus minus stat a lot. Okay. Just going to say that right now.
I don't think it's irrelevant. I just don't look at it a lot, but look at that plus 36,
36 in green. I mean, in a Taylor Jenkins era, Zach might be doing five points,
seven rebounds, maybe a block, maybe he's lucky. He gets the opportunity to, he wouldn't,
he wouldn't get 29 minutes in a game like this. Even in, even in a game where Memphis should win,
he wouldn't get 29 minutes. He'd be getting 20, maybe even less than that. I mean, what was
you know? So again, I think he was never out of it. I thought he just needed a bit of a motivation.
I don't want to say maybe that's not the right word. Maybe he just needed a different direction
on where to go. And that started at the head coaching position. Of course, there are many
different reasons as to why Taylor Jenkins left. There were a lot of management problems,
a lot of problems between him and Zach Kleinman, but how were they going to build
with the gifts they got in the draft with Zach Eady and Jalen Wells. And right now we're noticing
that with Tomas and we're all here for it. So here we go. Jared Altor for the Grizzlies
Digest episode. You like this video, you can like this video, comment on this video,

to what you think is actually going on with Zach Eady. Why is he progressing? What was hindering
him from before? Why is he just now starting to have this boost of confidence? Leave that in
comments down below. But we'll see in the next video. Jared Altor from Memphis Grizzlies Digest
and peace.
