Dogs Make Everyone Happy

Well, good wonderful beautiful morning slash afternoon slash whatever it is Pawdience. Today's video is being brought to you by Husky Curl Memphis. Because everybody needs to see a cute Husky Curl on a day like today. Oh my goodness. I'm sure you all are... watching and listening to all the crazy too. So we're gonna talk about it for a minute. What? What? I sat up and you're like, look at them little pitter-patters, them little pitter-patter feetsies. I stood up for one second. You're like, you forgot to pet me before you stood up there. How's that? Is that good? Is that enough? Yeah, I know you're so cute. Okay, so I don't want to bring everybody down. I don't want to make everybody sad. I don't want everybody to... Blah blah blah blah blah. There's enough going on in the world right now where I'm pretty sure everybody is full of anxiety and fear and sadness and blah blah blah blah blah. I don't want that to be what... this becomes on our channel. I want to talk about the reality of things that are going on and things that you know, are kind of affecting us. Because I want to be able to talk to you guys about it. But I also don't want you guys to worry about Jamie and I. We're okay, we're fine. We live in the middle of nowhere. So like... Our grocery stores aren't completely unstocked. Yeah, everyone's in a while. Some of the stuff is gone, but we have enough food. My family has enough food. My brother has enough food. We're doing good. Our friends around us have enough food. So everybody we know locally is doing well. Yes, there has been some panic buying in our area. I guess you could call it. I don't think we ever actually ran out of toilet paper in our town, which is still just weird to me. But I guess whatever. Updates as of today. Today, the day I'm filming this is March 16th, 2020. So updates as of today. As of today, the governor of Michigan... We live in the state of Michigan. Most of you guys already know that. The governor in Michigan has... shut down all... restaurants... except for takeout and delivery. Now for those of you that may not know, that may be new here or that... again, may not know. My family owns a restaurant in our town. It is called Take 5 Deli and it's a small little restaurant. It's located in downtown Alpena. I actually ran it for 12 years before I jumped and did that. Started doing YouTube full-time. Jamie worked with me there for... seven or eight years. I don't remember. A long time. Jamie and I worked there a long time and when we left, my brother and his wife pretty much took over. Greg also works there. You guys all know Greg. That's where Greg works. So... Today has been a really interesting day because... I've been on the phone most of the day, calling back and forth figuring out, you know, what's the right thing to do? What do we do? For those of you that have never worked in the food service industry, good food service industries, restaurants have a lot of standard operating procedures when it comes to keeping things clean. So like it's crazy how much you have to clean at a restaurant and how many times you have to wash your hands and... procedures and washing counters and washing... Like there's a lot that goes into it when you work at a restaurant and when you operate a restaurant. We've passed every single health inspection we've ever had for the past 15 years. We've been open. We've always passed with flying colors. So... Anyway, our restaurant is kept very clean. We made some changes today... but that was earlier this morning and then in the middle of the day the governor came through and said all restaurants besides... takeout and delivery are to be shut down. So... Needless to say the deli was fairly slow today. Which we kind of expected because everybody doesn't really know what to do and they don't want to be going out. The plan is I guess right now for the rest of this week... We're allowed to do delivery, which we a lot of our business was anyway. I already told my brother, you know, call me if you need me to come in and drive some food to people. We're gonna try to stay open. We do feed a lot of people in town. We feed a lot of the working people. We feed a lot of people who can't leave their homes. We feed a lot of people so... We don't want to just abandon those people because some of them can't leave their houses and some of them can't leave their jobs either. You know, they're required to work. It's not like the police officers and the firemen and the hospital workers and the doctor's offices. It's not like they can just stop working and they still need to eat too. So anyway... I know it's a lot of rambling because I have a lot of thoughts going through my head right now and kind of just... spewed them all out. That's what's going on in our world right now, and I know everybody's got their own... problems and everybody's got things going on, but that's kind of what's going on in our world right now. Today's been an odd day. Just trying to figure out what to do next. I have a feeling that pretty soon here, they're gonna require all the restaurants to close anyway. Like I just have a feeling that's the way it's going as I'm watching the news, which I'm trying not to do. But I'm getting sucked into doing anyway. What are you doing? Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. Hold on. This is what's happening over here. All she wants is all the pets. Hold on. There you go. Okay, that better? That better? All right. So yeah, yes, I'm petting you. I didn't stop. So yeah, that's kind of what's going on in our world right now. So I don't want you guys to worry about us. I put up a post on our Facebook group and a couple other places saying that Jamie and I are gonna try to continue... uploading videos as we always do because we wanna, you know... We know you guys need an escape from all of this and we feel like if we can be that, then hey, why not be that? And on top of that, it gives us something else to focus on besides all the craziness in the world right now. So that's a... I think that's all I wanted to talk about that. Oh, the other thing is, is down in the video description below, I will actually have links to all of other... all of our other YouTube channels. I'm gonna try again. Oh, you're so strong! Kira's outside right now. Jamie's watching her. She's playing in the yard. Memphis is like, I do want to play outside. I want all of the pets, all of the times. Yeah. So anyway guys, that's what's going on. Don't worry about us. We're okay. We're okay. We'll all be okay. We're all in this together. We'll get through this. Our lives are drastically different today than they were yesterday and they probably will be again tomorrow. It's gonna be the new normal for a little while and we'll all be okay. And that's what we wanted to say about that. Yeah. What are you out there doing? Huh? You're out there digging again? Let's see them paws. Let's see them paws. Oh, look at you. You're a muddy mess. A muddy stinker mess. Again. Looks like you're getting a bath. So, I know I'm looking at the floor. This is dining room table take three? Two. Two? Dining room table take two. So, you guys saw it when it was white. Yeah, it didn't stay that color because it didn't work the way we wanted it to because none of this wood grain showed through. So, Jamie, who's amazing. Jamie, you're amazing. Jamie ended up stripping all of that work that he did off the table. And now, he's putting new stain on the table. Which I kind of love it. You wanna know what's funny? This was the original color I was gonna pick. Was it? Yeah, this is the weathered gray that I said I wanted from the start and then I talked myself out of it because I was afraid it was gonna be too dark. I don't think this is too dark. I think this is gonna be perfect. Yeah, I'm gonna touch up a few of the white spots. So, a $10 wasn't even a $10. It was a $9 mistake. And then I had to buy a $9 bottle of stripper. So, a $20 mistake saved us... Hopefully, saved us $700 on the table I wanted. I'll take that. I'll take that, right? Right? I think so. I like it. It matches the leg color still, which I like. I was also thinking, I don't know, this might be just too weird, but like, what about like a darker... No. No. No. I think I'm gonna like this. I think it's gonna turn out good. So, there's your table update for now. If more gets done, I'll show you more later. Hopefully, back in the dining room. Yeah, that'd be nice. I heard that. Wanna sing? Sing! Sing, Memphis! Sing! Sing! Yeah? Sing! Sing! Hi! I knew you were gonna get in my face. I knew you were gonna ruin it. You're gonna get in my face. You want help? You want me to sing with you? Ready? Sing! Kira is still figuring that out. That's pretty good! Good job! Good job girls! Good job! You know, all we see on you right now is a little vanilla twist. That was not an invitation to wrestle. Yeah? That was really throaty. She's like, dude! You gotta do this Memphis! No! Not an invitation to wrestle! Punch you in the face! Punch you in the face! You don't even care, do you? Time for table update! So, this does not have any polyurethane on it. I don't think, we're gonna put another coat of stain on it. I think, Jamie got it pretty dang close to perfect actually. So, tomorrow we may bring the table into the basement. Because, we ran out of kerosene for that heater. Probably not a good thing. We should probably get some kerosene, you know? With that thing that's going around. We might actually go to that tomorrow. But, that way we can heat up the garage. We do have a little heater under here. It's not on right now. But anyway, when we put the polyurethane on, we gotta make sure that it stays nice and warm in here. But, I think this might actually work. It's really pretty! It's not orange anymore. I'm so excited! Yeah! This just might work! So anyway, there's your table update. We're not gonna work on it anymore until tomorrow. And after that we get...
