Are Siberian Huskies good Family Dogs? FAN FRIDAY #65

Drinking some water, cause it's hot again today. It's another hot fan Friday. Thomas wants to know, are Huskies good family dogs? Um, well, I think we're a good family and they fit in with us. So I would say they're good family dogs. Um, I I know a lot of people that have Huskies that have families. So I would say yes. You just have to remember Huskies can be very high energy. So you don't want to leave them alone with small children because they might knock them down. AJ wants to know, do Oakley's past owners still stay in touch? Yes, we actually talk to Oakley's past owners quite often on Facebook and they watch her in the videos all the time. Thomas wants to know, is Shelby a full-blooded Husky? Yes, Shelby is a purebred Husky. She is CKC registered. Both her parents were Huskies. Her grandparents were Huskies. She's a full-blooded Husky. I'm probably gonna say this name wrong, but Laniece wants to know, if you have to give your dogs a bath, what type of shampoo or product do you use? Um, I like the oatmeal based shampoos. Those are usually what I use on the girls whenever I do have to give them a bath, which as you said is not very often. Kelly wants to know, when do Huskies get out of the puppy phase? Well, let's see. Shelby will be five this year and she still acts like a puppy. So maybe when they're seven? I would say when they're about seven, if you're lucky. Sammy wants to know, if we have come to love Oakley as much as we love Shiloh and Shelby? Yes, I definitely have to say we love her just as much as we love Shiloh and Shelby. Natalie wants to know, how do your dogs react when you say squirrel? Shiloh, where's the squirrel? She doesn't really react. Hey Shelby! Shelby! Shelby, where's the squirrel? Where's the squirrel? Is it in a tree? Where is it? Yeah, she doesn't really react either. Let's see if we get Oakley to react. Hey Oakley! Hey Oakley! Oakley! There's a squirrel! Oakley! There's a squirrel! Get the squirrel! Get the squirrel! No? No? You almost stepped on that toad. We better get rid of the toad. Yeah, Oakley doesn't really react when there's a squirrel either. If they see a squirrel, it's a whole nother situation. Okay, nobody asked this, but here's a fact for Fan Friday. See this toad? These are dangerous to have in your yard. If you have Huskies or dogs of any kind and you see toads in your yard, you need to take them and chuck them over the fence. Well, chuck them over the fence nicely because if these dogs, which have not seen the toad in front of me yet, because it's not moving, if they lick these toads, they actually have poison on them, which can make the dogs really sick. And if you do have a dog that does lick a toad like this, you want to immediately rinse their mouth out with water because it's really not good for them. It can really hurt their bellies. So nobody asked that question, but I saw the toad and I figured I better tell you guys. Jamie just saved the dogs from the toad. He nicely put it over the fence. And in the mail today, we got this awesome drawing from Michael and Michael wants to know, is there such thing as a Doberman and a Husky mix? Um, I'm sure somewhere there's probably somebody who had a Husky and a Doberman that managed to get together and have puppies, but I don't think I've ever seen one. Thanks for sending us the drawing.
