This cake is as beautiful as it is good. Here is my recipe for the classic vanilla and cocoa flavored marbled cake
that made me drool for many years when I was little.
To start, you will need a cake pan or a cake pan, buttered or rather margarined,
or covered with baking paper. A round pan also works. I start with the vanilla part.
In a bowl, I pour my dry ingredients. Flour, sugar,
half a sachet of yeast and a good pinch of salt. I mix it all up,
then I move on to the cocoa part. In another bowl, I pour the same ingredients.
Flour, sugar, yeast and salt. Then I'm going to add some cocoa powder. You have to
use unsweetened cocoa powder for this recipe, no melted chocolate, no sweet cocoa.
Don't do it like me, sift the powder instead of adding it directly to your
bowl. I don't know why, I never do it and I always regret it. We can now
add our liquid ingredients. You have to be fast enough from this moment on because the
chemical yeast will activate, so my ingredients are ready in advance. Vegetable milk,
oil and vanilla. I incorporate my vanilla mixture first, then I move on to the
cocoa mixture. I do it in this order to use the same whisk without having to rinse it.
I also add milk and oil here and mix. Now that our cake dough is ready,
we have to pour it into our mold by creating this famous marble effect. Take a first dough
and pour a part along the cake mold, using a maryse so as not to put it
everywhere. Then move on to the second dough. You can make as many layers as you want,
personally I find that the prettiest is to do in the 10 layers or less. Beyond that,
it is possible that the layers are not seen enough and that the marbled effect is less visible.
You can also do it in a round mold by pouring a little dough in the center of the mold,
then a little of the second, etc. At the end I trace drawings on the surface with the tip of a knife,
it is completely optional, but I find it prettier. Then I bake for about thirty
minutes of cooking. Here is our beautiful cake once cooked, it is better to let it cool
completely, but I was in a hurry to show you the drawings. I hope you will like this recipe,
it was already online on my blog, but I modified the quantities to make a more beautiful cake,
and I took the opportunity to share the recipe with you in video. The first part is not really
representative, so here is the cake with the next part. The drawings are much more beautiful and
more marked, and the cake has a little taste of savannah for those who remember it.
Find all the quantities for this marble on my blog, the link is below the video.
