Russian Tanks Tried To Enter Bakhmut. Here's What Happened After That
A detracked Russian T-72B tank was destroyed in #Donetsk Oblast by a precise drone-dropped F-1 grenade- straight into the driver's hatch.
Video clip shared a rare view of the ruined city of Bakhmut, which has been besieged by Russian forces for months. In the nearly minute-long footage from the city, buildings were seen burning, while nearly every structure was left in ruins. A major street in the city is now little more than a dirt road with numerous craters, while abandoned cars could be seen as rusting hulks.

destroyed in Donetsk Oblast by a precise drone-dropped
F1 grenade straight into the driver's hatch. Video clip shared a rare view of
the ruined city of Bakhmut,
which has been besieged by Russian forces for months. In the nearly minute-long
footage from the city,
buildings were seen burning while nearly every structure was left in ruins.
A major street in the city is now little more than a dirt road with numerous
craters,
while abandoned cars could be seen as rusting hulks. Russia began shelling
Bakhmut in May last year
and has stepped up efforts to control the stronghold in recent months.
Right now, the Russians have concentrated all their forces to surround the Bakhmut
city.
They are attacking it from the north and south, trying to cut off supplies to the
Ukrainian troops.
Enemy tanks are trying to break into the city, but the Ukrainian artillery
is not sleeping. An Excalibur projectile accurately destroyed
a moving Russian tank. Another tank is destroyed while trying to enter the city.
Ukrainian artillery men ruthlessly destroy
enemy vehicles. Anything marked with the letter Z must be destroyed
and burned by any means necessary. The Russians can barely break into Bakhmuts
with armored vehicles.
On the eastern side, the fighting is already taking place directly on the
streets of the city.
The enemy is trying to occupy the buildings and turn them into strongholds.
Once peaceful houses become a battlefield, Ukrainians have to fight for
every street,
for every house. The most difficult thing is to knock the enemy
out of the buildings to do this. The fighting has now entered the urban area.
Ukrainian officials say the city is almost destroyed when there are no
buildings left intact.
The latest video shows the ruins in this city. Many houses have collapsed,
while smoke is rising from the destroyed structures. Viewed from above,
Bakhmut looks like the end of the world. You have to use a large caliber machine
gun,
and in the most difficult situations, only tanks can help.
The Russians are not afraid to use fighter jets, knowing that the Ukrainians
can easily shoot down their planes.
Last week, a video circulated across social media showed the destruction of a
Russian Su-24M strike aircraft near Bakhmut
in the Donetsk Oblast of Eastern Ukraine. The Russians also used the Lancet drones
to destroy other important Ukrainian weapons,
such as the Stolmer HVM air defense system. But Ukrainians
also have Kamikaze drones. Units of the Ukrainian 59th Motorized Brigade,
which has been on consistent rotation fighting in the Battle of Bakhmut,
recorded the footage of a loitering munition drone flying directly into the
gunner's hatch,
ensuring that the MBT couldn't be recovered by Russian forces
and returned to service. And on this video,
a branch of the Ukrainian Security Service, SBU,
was responsible for a wildly successful drone strike on a Russian thermobaric
missile launcher,
what some consider Russia's most powerful weapon short of a nuclear bomb.
Ukrainian drone bullying enemy troops. Ukrainians destroy enemy
armored vehicles with artillery strikes. The Excalibur's unique high-precision
guided projectile
allows them to destroy tanks with pinpoint accuracy. It is controlled by
aerodynamic rudders
and uses GPS. In fact, it turns Ukrainian howitzers
into large caliber sniper rifles capable of hitting single targets tens of
kilometers away.
The Russians can only dream of such accuracy.
They don't have high-precision artillery at all. Because of this,
they spend more ammo than they need. But most of all,
Russians love to use MLRS systems. This is the most indiscriminate weapon
ever made. The Bagmat city and its surroundings look like a landscape
after the First World War just because of this type of weapon. Hundreds and
thousands of exploding shells destroy houses and trees,
mixing everything with the ground. This is how the Russians hope to win,
by leaving behind scorched earth. On March 23rd,
Clash reports shared footage showing Ukraine deploying the 2S7 Pion
203mm self-propelled gun to the Eastern Front
in preparation for a counter-offensive. The 2S7
is the most powerful gun in the Russian arsenal, with a 203mm shell
that can reach distances of up to 20 miles and cause enormous damage to the
enemy.
Fortunately, the Russians have a limited number of these shells
and use them sparingly. Meanwhile, the Ukrainians have been actively using the
M270 launcher near Bagmans,
which is like a doubled high moss, and they have hidden it in the forest because it
is a highly valuable weapon.
It has an important role to play to destroy enemy ammunition depots,
command posts, and enemy MLRS systems.
Everyday Ukrainians destroy some large Russian depot.
Aerial recon units of the 108th Separate Mountain Battalion destroy an enemy BMP
in Berestov, northeast of Bagman. This village is also subject to a lot of
destruction.
Suburbs of Bagman, fighters of the 2nd Assault Battalion
of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade repulse an enemy assault group.
The disturbing footage, recorded by Ukrainian soldiers,
shows how residential buildings and properties have been left completely destroyed.
The footage shows Ukrainian soldiers moving across the town,
showing items they picked up along the way, and even meeting a dog that was
left behind by victims of the conflict.
The soldiers spend time with the local dog, pick up ammunition and other
resources that they stored in a partly destroyed residential building,
and offer a fascinating look into the damage done by Russian
and Ukrainian strikes. The video was shared on Twitter by a popular war
analysis account, which revealed that the recording was made by soldiers from the
2nd Assault Battalion
of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade. Soldiers of the 2nd Assault Battalion of
the 3rd OSHBR
showed the outskirts of Bagman, destroyed by the Russian invaders Russia is a
terrorist state.
The account writes, Russians hope to capture the city of Bagman with great
persistence
and sacrifices to demonstrate to the world at least some combat capability of
the Russian army.
But even if the Russians capture the city, it will not bring them any benefit.
The fate of this war will soon be decided by the Ukrainian counter-offensive,
which we all look forward to.
Well, that's it for now. We'll update this story when there's more new to report
about Ukraine.
