It's been a while since I introduced you to the masterpieces.
Today, I'm going to introduce you to a masterpiece of the Joseon Dynasty that I cherished very much.
It's this person in the picture.
Uh? Did you find anything strange?
He's holding a brush with his left hand.
Besides, the way of writing looks quite different from what we know.
This is Seokjeon Hwangok, who holds a brush with the left hand of an old man and also with a bad writing method.
In fact, he wasn't left-handed from the beginning.
To find out why he wrote in this position,
Let's take a look at his childhood.
Born in Gochang, Jeollabuk-do in 1898,
He studied Korean from an early age.
In his 20s, he went into the Don Doam of Geumgangsan and lived in the West for 10 years.
At that time, it was the Japanese colonial era,
so I think he must have carried the sadness and anger of losing his country with a pen.
Even when he returned to his hometown in his 30s,
He said he continued to live in Eundun, relying only on Geomungo and writing.
Thanks to this, he became an excellent scholar in the field of action.
As time went by, at the age of 65,
A big incident happened to shake his life in the West.
It's a fatal thing for a scholar of the West.
It's a tremor that's over him.
To a scholar who has been looking at the West all his life,
What do you mean by a tremor?
He must have been caught in a sense of despair as if the sky was going to collapse.
But if his life in the West was over here,
There was no need to introduce him to our Kelly Art.
He got back on his feet and grabbed the brush.
So far, if you've been holding a brush with a general double-bow method,
Now I'm going to use my palm to pick up the brush.
Press the tip of the brush with your thumb to fix the brush.
It's a so-called bad handwriting.
Here, bad handwriting is not a bad handwriting,
It's a handwriting.
After about 10 years, Mr. Seok-jeong, who got used to bad handwriting,
He's in his mid-70s, and he's been studying the handwriting of Chang-ham Lee San-man.
The writing of Chang-ham is like a cloud floating and water flowing.
It's also called a lucky water body.
There must have been a reason why he started studying a new book in his old age.
Due to the nature of bad handwriting,
It would have been difficult to handle the preface, introduction, and interpretation that require precise writing or a strict shape.
So he simplified the complicated writing,
He decided to go in the direction of keeping the line by keeping the order of the line.
This is how free handwriting is read.
At the age of over 80, he makes one more big leap.
Like a muscle that rolls on its own in the air,
His handwriting was strangely twisted.
The 3rd verse, which clearly implies that he is alive,
It appeared to be the texture of a dragon's scales in his flowing ink.
People couldn't help but admire his transformation.
But at the age of 86, his hand tremors came up to his arms.
If he were an ordinary person, he would have wanted to let go of the brush when he was in trouble.
But he moved the brush to his left hand,
which was based on the belief that it was a stone war.
The era of the so-called left-handed bad handwriting has reopened.
Everything was clumsy as if it were the beginning,
but his eyes knew that the writing had to go.
When the gaze ran out first, the hand followed from behind.
He wrote and wrote again until he could.
At the age of 90, left-handed bad handwriting also bloomed and bore fruit.
Usually, if you write with your right hand,
the right shoulder of the letter goes up.
As he wrote with his left hand,
the style of the right shoulder going down began to appear.
Or the things that the left and right shoulders go up and down intersected,
and the letters appeared to have a funny shape like a shoulder dance.
Surprisingly, he overcame all the situations that seemed impossible,
and from 1974 to 1991,
he opened an exhibition every year,
and he reached the pinnacle of his life.
Politicians like Kim Young-sam and Kim Dae-joon also visited Seok-jeon's exhibition,
so you can see that his reputation was great in the world of writing at the time.
Now let's take a look at his works.
This is the Daejuk Gwangjeon Pyeonhaegi in Geumsansa Temple.
The handwriting is the most powerful,
so his subtle handwriting stands out even more.
Maybe that's why there are many handwritings left in Jeonju, where he used to work.
This work is overwhelming.
It's a novel, and you can see that it has the bones of Jesus in it.
The letters get bigger and smaller,
and when they get thinner, they get thicker,
and they seem to stay, but they get crushed,
and then they jump up.
It's profound and refreshing.
This work seems to have a crooked handwriting and a slightly crooked right shoulder,
so it looks like a bad handwriting.
I can't believe I can digest the tremors of handwriting in such a grand three-verse.
I bow my head to the efforts and art of the teacher.
Illmul Gwan Manmul
Through one object, observe the position of everything.
Doesn't this meaning seem to be embedded in the letters?
He must have been a man of his word,
who has been a man of his word for a long time,
with his personality, who has been pure and full of energy,
who has completely surpassed all methods and techniques.
Now, I've looked into the life of Seokjeon Hwangwook.
In a word, his life is an old man who has overcome the trials of years and years
and accomplished a unique work that cannot be replaced.
I will end today's video with his last words to the people of the West.
Rather than trying to look beautiful,
you have to be honest and sincere,
and you have to write a lot of unambitious love letters
to become your own creative work.
