埃及的丹德拉神殿，是古埃及最後一個大型宗教建物，始建於西元前50年左右，到今天已經2000年了。丹德拉神殿是古埃及〝哈陶爾•迪特拉女神〞(簡稱哈陶爾) 最重要的膜拜地！丹德拉神殿也是埃及最完整的神殿，可以看到完整的古代埃及迎神過程中，重要的建築結構。包括丹德拉神殿內部保管哈陶爾神像的地方、旋轉上升的階梯、哈陶爾神像準備接受曙光照射的屋頂建築等哥，丹德拉神殿外還有一個清洗哈陶爾神像的聖池。距離丹德拉神殿正前方不遠的地方，是古代的碼頭，這些都是古代迎神過程中，與之相關的建築結構。

丹德拉神殿所供奉的哈陶爾女神，是古埃及的愛神、美神、富裕、舞蹈、音樂之神，同時也是法老王的守護神之一。另一方面她也跨足到陰間，不但在陰陽交界的地方，為亡靈補充體力，也是太陽神在冥界最強力的護衛。她也擁有「拉神之眼」這個滅世武器。哈陶爾女神的神殿結構非常的與眾不同！當埃及所有神殿的柱頭，都是蓮花或紙草柱時，只有她的神殿稱為「哈陶爾柱」，所以在古埃及眾神之中，哈陶爾女神的神殿是唯一擁有專屬柱型的神明，這一點可以在丹德拉神殿中，充分看到。

丹德拉神殿之前有四座小遺跡，第一個是奧古斯都的誔生房。這是羅馬人為了統治埃及，所建的政治宣告建築物。第二個殘蹟是羅馬時代的基督教教堂。第三座小殘蹟，是埃及第三十王朝，奈克塔內博二世的誔生房。最後一個是1960年發掘出來，古代的〝醫療所〞
