Just as clouds seem to magically form out of nothingness and dissolve back into nothingness, so the composer Ferdinando Carulli appeared in music history with almost magical abilities on the guitar. Unlike the clouds that dissolved into nothingness, his beautiful compositions are still with us.

Ferdinando Carulli (1770-1841) was one of the most famous guitar virtuosos and composers for guitar of his time. He played the guitar so diligently and well that he managed to work magic on the instrument to create completely new effects. He was often seen giving concerts, was a guitar teacher, wrote well over 300 of his own compositions and also wrote a guitar book "Harmonie appliquée à la Guitarre...", which is probably one of the best ever written. No wonder, he was the favourite in many salons for a long time.
