The Italian Concerto in F major, BWV 971, is a keyboard composition written for harpsichord by Johann Sebastian Bach. It is one of Bach's best known keyboard solo works.

A prime example of Bach's mastery of counterpoint and keyboard technique, the Italian Concerto was composed around 1735. In spite of its title, it's important to note that the piece is not a true concerto in the traditional sense of being accompanied by an orchestra. Instead, it's a solo keyboard work that mimics the style and form of a concerto, incorporating elements of the Italian music that was so influential during Bach's time.

What we hear here is the second movement: It is an Andante.
