007 Skyfall | Adele

007 Skyfall is the 23rd spy film in the James Bond series, produced by Eon Productions and distributed by MGM and Sony Pictures Entertainment. In this film, Daniel Craig plays James Bond for the third time, and Javier Bardem plays Raoul Silva, the villain. The film is directed by Sam Mendes and written by John Logan, Neal Purvis, and Robert Wade.

The film received much positive feedback from critics and won 2 Academy Awards for Best Original Song performed by the singer Adele and Best Sound Editing (the result was a draw with Zero Dark Thirty) at the 85th Academy Awards. A tie in the sound editing category of these two films is quite rare in the history of the Oscars.

In October 2012, singer Adele confirmed that she had written and recorded Skyfall, the film's theme song, with her composer, Paul Epworth. The song was released at 0:07 UK time on October 5, 2012, when the producers called James Bond Day to mark the 50th anniversary of the release of the first film in the 007 series, Dr. No. This song was nominated and won an Oscar in the category "Best Main Song," the first time a song from the James Bond series has won an Oscar.
