Michael Corleone is the main character in the Godfather trilogy - directed by Francis Ford Coppola. He is played by Al Pacino, who was twice nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor in The Godfather and Best Actor in The Godfather Part II.

Michael Corleone was born in 1920, the third child of Mafia boss Vito Corleone and has a mother, Carmela Corleone. He has two older brothers, Santino "Sonny" Corleone and Frederico "Fredo" Corleone, and a younger sister, Constanza "Connie" Corleone. In addition, he has an unofficial adoptive brother, consigliere Tom Hagen - a counselor to the Corleone family.

Michael Corleone – played by Al Pacino – was recognized as the 11th most influential criminal figure in cinematic history by the American Film Institute. However, many critics consider Michael Corleone to be a tragic hero.

Michael fled to Sicily under the arrangement of his family and was protected by Don Tommasino. While in Sicily, Michael fell in love with a local girl named Apollonia Vitelli. He quickly married Apollonia, whom he loved for the rest of his life. He thinks it's finally over and tries to settle down in Sicily with Apollonia.
