
Cream Filling or Cream Custard For All Recipes
Pastry Cream or Cream Custard is a combination of egg yolks, sugar and milk that are thickened with cornstarch and cooked over the stove. It is used in many recipes as Eclair, German Pie, Boston Cream Pie and many others. It is so delicious and I like the combinations of this Cream Custard with Chocolate Ganache.
The secret for best Vanilla Cream Pie is the butter which will give it the smooth, creamy texture, so don't skip this. Vanilla Cream Pie can be prepared in advance and kept in the refrigerator to be used in your recipe next day. Make sure to cover it with plastic to prevent it from forming skin on the surface.
Cream Filling or Cream Custard Ingredients:
2 cups milk
2 tsp vanilla extract
4 egg yolks
2/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup cornstarch
2 Tbsp unsalted butter
