All right, you guys, so you know I love a good look, OK?
So today, we're going to talk fashion and how to put
something together on a budget, OK?
For date night, for going out to have brunch with your
girlfriends, just hanging out, maybe doing a little
shopping, vacation even.
We're going to talk all things fashion.
Normally, when you get dressed, you somehow end up
on the phone with one of your girlfriends or FaceTime your
homegirl, like, sis, how does this look?
I'm in a rush, but tell me, does this look good?
Well, guess what?
This is one of my closest friends, Kim Harris, who is a
fashionista herself.
She does home design.
She organizes closets.
And she's a lifesaver, guys, because I'm going to tell you,
she done saved my life 1,000 times, OK?
So we also got some tea.
We're going to talk how we got together, how we became
friends, but one thing that me and my girl Kim have in
common is fashion and how to do it on a
budget, by the way, OK?
So let's get into it.
First of all, introduce yourself to the people.
Hi, I am Kimberly Harris with Catch 22 Boutique, and I have
a consignment shop, interior design, and all things Toya
when she sends me her clothes to sell, so we keep that
organized so she can buy some more stuff.
That's kind of what I do, yeah.
You know, we try to tell her to stop shopping so much, but
you know, that's what she does.
I'm a shopaholic.
We already had this conversation.
I got to confess, and we in a trust tree, right?
OK, we can talk about things.
Because that's what we do when we leave it to LaToya.
I know I have other shopaholics that might need to
go to the meet and, you know, hi, my name is LaToya, and I
have a shopping addiction.
That'll be me.
But Kim has found a really cool way, after I've worn the
clothes, or maybe something didn't fit right, she sells it
on catch22.com.
And you can go and purchase my pieces that I have loved and
kept in great condition, including brand new ones,
because sometimes she buys stuff and she
doesn't even wear it.
Or she buys them on multiple items.
So we might have two or three of the exact same blazer,
because your girl loves a blazer, and then she'll forget
about the fact that she already had it.
OK, I don't need.
See, she's telling too much of my business.
Truth serum right here, right?
We're being honest.
Don't leave it to LaToya.
We're being honest, but I'm just saying.
Let's get into it, y'all.
All right, y'all, whether it be a date look or a cute little
brunch with your girlfriends, or just hanging out for the
weekend, I know by Friday, y'all ready to let go of that
little corporate outfit, you know, the nude tones, the
black, the stuffy little Zoom look, or
whatever it might be.
You want to incorporate patterns and colors and really
get to show your personality on the weekend.
And that's what I do every time I put a fit on, is make
sure that y'all see me and see me.
You feel what I'm saying?
Before we do, I got to give y'all a little
history on my friend.
OK.
I want to tell you guys how Kim and I met.
She has her version, but I have mine, too.
But basically, what happened was Kim stole my boyfriend.
I did not.
At the tender age of 13.
He fell in my lap.
At summer camp.
But anyways, I was in this relationship.
I thought I was, like, full-blown in love.
We spent all of our time together.
Like, we would go on little dates around the city.
It was a whole moment.
He bought me a beeper.
And then he went off to summer camp and basically never came
back to me.
We had mutual friends.
And it turns out, he met Kim, from what I know,
at summer camp, and didn't let her
know that he had a whole girlfriend
waiting at home for him.
And so when summer camp was over and he came back home,
we were supposed to go on a total like-
So you know that's not how it went?
I don't know.
But anyways, no, because maybe he didn't tell you.
You weren't privy to that information,
but this is what happened.
So basically, we were supposed to go on a triple date
when he got back.
Because my homegirls was dating his homeboys.
They never showed up for the date, OK?
Crickets, all right?
B Tim did all the little things.
That's not my fault.
He never.
And so he never responded.
And then one of my girlfriends got the T on Kim.
I got her number and her address because I
was ready to roll up.
I end up calling her and saying, how are you?
Not the address, though.
Wait a minute.
You got my address, too?
I got your address, too, sis.
Anyways, didn't use it.
I didn't have to.
Thank goodness.
Anyways, by the way, y'all, we were 13 and 14 years old.
So how much, I was going to have to have my mama drop
me off at her crib.
But anyways, I called Kim.
And I was like, listen, he is no good, girl.
He had had a girlfriend the whole time.
This part is true.
This is me.
I'm Latoya.
And, you know, I feel like you should break up with him.
So I had her call him on three-way and break up with him.
And I've been with her ever since.
I took his girl.
She did.
That part is true.
But the first part is not.
You know, I didn't know anything about him in summer camp.
I didn't know anything about her.
That's my truth.
Yes, it was more so, listen, this dude met me at a party.
I thought he was cute.
He asked for my number.
And that was that.
And then we went on a few dates.
Been in the car.
Oh, you rode in the bucket?
I rode in the bucket, honey.
The prelude.
I rode in the prelude, been at his house, met his mama.
Didn't know nothing.
You met his mama?
Didn't know a thing about her.
Didn't know a thing.
This is a lot.
This is too much information.
I'm finding all of this.
You met his mama?
I met his mama.
You met his mama.
And his sister, right?
Yeah.
We had a little, there was a barbecue at the house, child.
I'm telling you, I didn't say nothing about her.
I didn't know anything about her.
But she's right.
We did drop him, so.
We did.
Together.
Funny thing is, years later, he came to her
trying to get back with me.
Oh, oh, yes.
On social media, it's like, do you think
that you can get my number?
Yeah, give me the toy up?
No.
Audacity.
The audacity.
That's how Kim and I met.
And we have been rolling deep ever since.
Yes.
This has been my dog.
I mean, when I tell you everything
that my business ventures, there hasn't been an album that
hasn't been made where Kim is sitting on that couch
supporting me, rooting me on.
Anything there is to know about Latoya,
outside of what I'm going to tell y'all, she know already.
You know what I'm saying?
This is a true friend right here.
I got the bones.
All the bones.
And you better keep them to yourself.
Amen.
We're not even the type of friends
that got to talk every single day.
Me and Kim have gone, like, months
without talking to each other or checking in.
And still pick back up.
And we pick up, we pick up where we left off.
And y'all, she knew I was pregnant
before I even told her.
I don't even know.
I did.
I'm like, something different in your spirit.
She's like, what's going on?
I'm like, no, we just got.
And this is over the phone at first, y'all.
She was like, I hear a little something
different in your voice.
Yeah, is that a baby?
I feel in my shanana that there is another human.
It's like your voice is stacked, almost.
I'm like, girl, what?
And I was so excited, you know, when she had her first born.
I came, ran to the house.
And then she had her second baby, which looks like Tyson.
Yes, her son could be mine.
Really could.
That's how close we are.
When my children look like she could have.
Because we're like, wait, how'd that happen?
Let's get into some weekend fashion.
We're going to make this fun.
We're going to make this light.
And we're going to make this clear.
If y'all can't tell already, my favorite color is red.
I'm all the way here for a monochromatic look.
And I love a good blazer.
Oh, she loves a blazer.
I mean, it's going to be on every outfit.
Not every.
I mean, you know, weekly.
I make an effort to not wear a blazer with everything.
But I just feel like it just gives you that I am not
to be played with look.
A good shoulder pad, a good cinch in the waist, and baby.
OK, there's this cute little dress here.
And by the way, you don't have to pay a million dollars
to look good.
As long as the color is right and the fabric
don't feel cheap, you got yourself an outfit, baby.
I love a good red, right?
Now, there are moments where I wasn't
as confident in wearing, like, my waist down
and having cutouts and things like that.
So what I would do is I would pair it with a good jacket.
Right?
A blazer.
I would even wear this to the office.
You know what I'm saying?
Maybe not with the cutouts.
But if I was doing a cute little brunch look or an early dinner
or something like that, a red anything with a red lip
never disappoints.
I would probably rock it maybe with a cute gold shoe,
gold accessories, maybe a chunky necklace.
You know what I'm saying?
Now, what every woman needs is a good black dress.
This, baby, is good.
All right?
I love it because it's leather.
But if I wanted to wear this in the spring with a good heel
by itself, it's still a cute date night look,
no matter the season.
All right?
But making sure that it's a good fabric and it's a good fit,
that's what makes it a cute little black dress.
The little black dress, you can basically pair with anything.
For me, I like going dressy but adding
a little casual flair to it.
So a good denim jacket.
And I love this one because it has really good shape to it.
You can wear it off the shoulder,
pair it with a good heel.
And with this, you can go with a denim heel
that'll wrap around the ankle.
Denim on denim is winning right now.
Or if you want to go super sexy, add a little bling to it,
a little shine.
You can make this hot.
Let's dress it up a bit.
I love this little jacket because it has good shape.
But the rhinestone detail is what makes it a hunnid, OK?
And I love that rhinestones are coming back.
Toya used to rhinestone everything.
All the hats.
Every hat that came out.
The bandana.
Yes, oh, the bandana.
She had so many of those.
Look at that, y'all.
Simple but just banging, OK?
I would wear this on a date.
I would wear this out to just have wine with my girlfriends.
And yes, I know you guys are seeing all these labels
that Toya has.
But you know, you can always find a budget alternative
that looks just as good.
And sometimes, maybe a little better.
You don't have to break the bank to look like money.
Thank you.
You just said you're going to wear that on a date night.
But who's the date?
You all in my biz.
I am.
I need to know.
What we doing?
Don't start being messy.
Look, I need to see it.
I don't just, don't worry about that right now.
Because you know, I'm ready, date night.
OK, so this one has a really cool story to it, right?
Y'all know I love a blazer.
But recently, I performed at the Houston Rodeo, right?
Which was on the exact same day as my birthday,
which made it even more special.
That's Houston's Super Bowl.
It's our Super Bowl.
75,000 people packed into our arena
and watched some of, like, Houston's finest perform.
And thankfully, Bun B asked me, and it was such an honor
to perform with him.
Oh my gosh.
But here's the funny scoop on this outfit, right?
First of all, I thought it was just a blazer,
and then I bought the skirt to it.
But when I tried it on, I was like, it's a, like,
blazer dress, which made it even more sexy.
I was, like, trying to figure out,
what am I going to wear for the rodeo?
What am I going to wear to perform?
And at the last minute, something
happened with the stylist.
It was a whole moment.
And I was like, oh my god, I have
to find something in my closet.
Well, this cute suit just so happened to be in my closet.
And I wore it with a rhinestone boot, my white cowgirl hat.
And baby, it was the best decision ever.
It was super comfortable, but I was confident.
It had a good shoulder pad, a good fit.
It was literally tailored for me.
And Kim, I don't know what to do next.
Like, I'm really trying to decide if I
want to sell this on catch or keep it, you know,
because I wore it during such a special moment in my life.
That's definitely a keep.
It's a keep, right?
Can you tell the people who you performed with, though?
I performed with Bun.
And?
And Slim Thug.
Who are also known as Big Slim today.
But it was really, really cool, because Slim
and I dated for a decade.
And it was a cool Houston moment,
because people hadn't seen us perform
that song together, like, ever.
And so when he came on stage, everybody was like, what?
And it was cute.
It was really, really cool.
We had great chemistry on stage.
People loved the touring record.
Thank you so much for supporting it.
It was a great moment.
So thank you, Slim, for showing up and performing
with your girl, because it was really, real cute.
And he liked my dress, too.
He was like, I know he did, Sharon.
I know he did.
OK, moving on to the next outfit.
Some of the cutest looks, some of the most feminine looks,
are done with masculine pieces.
I shop at Zara Man.
I wear big baggy jeans, but with a good heel.
I like that boyfriend jacket look.
Like, here, I have a boyfriend jacket.
It's super cute.
It's super baggy.
But if you put this on with a good heel, baby,
it just still spells sexy.
If you put a good bra under this, leave it open, honey,
things will happen.
For date night, right?
For date night.
It always, like, your skirts, your jackets, all of that,
it doesn't always have to be so tight to be sexy.
It also works well, you know, those days
where you start feeling a little bloated, you know?
And it covers that up, and you still feel sexy,
because nobody needs to know any of that.
OK, guys, so I told you I was going
to get into a cute little weekend fab, simple look.
And I feel like this is something I would
definitely wear on the weekend.
This top is from my girl, Rachel Matthews.
She actually put two tops together.
I've always loved a good, you know, army print.
And I love supporting our troops, so.
Especially because camo is a color, you know?
So that's a very neutral.
I love the camo.
It's neutral for me.
I can pair anything with it.
I paired it today with these cute little
Bottega wraparound sandals, because I love a good neon
as well, and it gives it a pop.
I did a simple, cute little leather short up under here.
I did that because I didn't want to mix too many things up.
I didn't want to do, like, even though you could do a denim,
but I feel like black is cute, simple, chic, clean.
So I would wear this as a cute little brunch look,
or to go shopping in, or just, you know, to run errands.
That's how I run errands.
Y'all don't run errands like this?
No.
You don't wear wrap-up sandals to run errands?
No, no.
So if you go to the grocery store, you ain't wearing this?
I got on sneakers.
I wear flip-flops.
I would wear my good little wrap-up heels,
because you never know when you see the grocery store.
Yeah, because you need somebody for that date night.
Oh, OK.
Hi, darling.
How are you?
Oh, I like it.
OK.
Ready to go on a little date.
OK, where y'all going?
I don't know.
Who's going?
Who's the date?
See, why you always got to turn it into something?
You know what I'm saying?
I mean, are we talking girl talk?
I don't know yet.
I'm just focused on the outfit.
When the date comes, I will be ready.
OK, let's find that out together.
OK.
I love this because it's a simple black piece, right?
You have just a regular blazer.
Just make sure you have a cute black blazer in your closet
at all times, OK?
You can dress that thing up, and you can dress it back down, OK?
Just make sure that it fits good, it feels good,
and makes you feel good, because that's what's most important.
I zhuzhed it up a bit with a little sparkle on the shoe
and a little pop in the bag.
Throw that right up under there.
Is that coming to catch any time soon?
It is not.
OK.
Sometimes I get high off my own supply, you know?
Are we going to show everybody the skirt, though?
This a moment.
Let's talk about the skirt.
Let's get into the skirt.
Underneath the blazer, a cute little black skirt or dress.
Yeah, that's what makes it fire.
Hadow.
You know, throw a cute little cami under there
or a little crop top, all right?
But I love this skirt because it has movement, texture.
It's layered.
So let's get into staple pieces, all right?
I feel like a classic black blazer,
a good pair of fitting jeans.
Yes.
Whatever it is, that staple piece
is going to be key when you're putting your outfits together.
It doesn't matter what shape you are, baby.
If it fits good, keep it in the closet, OK?
You can fit it with any and everything.
For my girls that, you know, are more shapely
and have the hips and the butt and the ooh-ooh,
it's all good, sis.
And I'm all about buying classic pieces, right?
Ones that I hopefully can pass down to my daughter.
You know what I mean?
So that's what helps me to keep from just buying stuff.
I go in the store looking for a good staple piece
that I can wear over and over again,
but I can zhuzh it up with something different every time.
She might have this blazer in five different colors,
and you wouldn't even know it was the same one.
I will say this because if I want to wear it baggy one day
and give that little boyfriend look,
then I know this is a good fitting jacket.
It has the waist cinched in,
but if it comes in a large or extra large,
I'll get that cute little loose-fitted boyfriend look
with a cute pair of jeans and maybe a crop top.
Or if I do it in a small or a medium...
Did you say boyfriend?
Why you keep on...
Why every time I say something, it got to be about a date.
Who you going with?
Can I just be single?
Yeah, absolutely. You absolutely can.
Be happy in my singleness?
She want me to have a boyfriend so bad.
She want me to have a man so bad.
I just want her to go on a date.
Fran, I get it, Fran. Fran, you want me to have a boo.
Okay, so here is a cute, simple brunch look,
or just like a daytime party.
It's all about the silhouette to me, right?
So for me, I love a look
that's going to make my waist look small.
I'm not a person that feels like you always have to have
on something tight to be sexy.
So I love the cute little boyfriend look,
and baby, don't give me a pocket.
Please don't give me a pocket, ladies and gentlemen.
Okay?
It's the pockets, baby.
It's the pockets for me, all right?
I love mixing prints.
I love all of that.
And green, if you haven't, if you can't tell by now,
green is like one of my favorite colors.
Next to red.
Next to red, but yes.
Even if I had a bag, which I do have a bag, this color,
you could even do something like this,
putting the colors together.
Look at that.
But I decided to go with the snakeskin bag
because it has the black and white,
the little silver detail,
and it just breaks it up a little bit.
I did the off-the-shoulder look
because I'm like, hey, look.
Y'all gonna get this shoulder.
Okay, y'all gonna get this clavicle.
So I want to show it off a bit.
It gives a little bit of sexy with the baggy.
You feel what I'm saying?
An animal print is also a color, just like camo.
It's very neutral.
It goes with a lot of things.
You just pop it in and boom, ready to go.
Thank you, Kim.
Okay, but look, guys.
These are simple, cute looks that you can do on a budget,
but it's all about getting staple pieces,
mixing things up, having fun,
but it's what makes you feel good.
It doesn't matter.
There's no right or wrong way to dress something up.
As long as you feel good in it,
that's what's important, okay?
I want to know how you feel about these looks, okay?
I've given you, what, six different looks at this point?
The girl's date night out, the brunch look,
the date night with the mystery boo.
The date yourself.
The date yourself look.
So I want to know which fit fits you best.
Give me your top three.
Leave it in the comments.
I want to know what your pick would be.
And since you're already date ready,
child, let's go get something to eat.
Can we, can we please?
Let me borrow one of these coats, right quick.
Okay, where's my sneakers?
Cause I'm about to do a show.
Let's put this on right now.
Yes.
Should we, should we keep the camera?
What should we do?
I mean, are we going there or are we going there?
I mean, we going.
Let's go.
Let's keep it here long.
