AI GeneratedThe Minnesota Wild are adjusting their lineup for tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Lightning due to an injury to Nick Foligno. The changes involve reshuffling the bottom six forwards and integrating Nico Sturm into the lineup. The team aims to maintain momentum in the Central Division while relying on goaltender Jesper Wallstedt to handle a potent Lightning offense.
The Minnesota Wild have made multiple changes ahead of tonight's game against
the Tampa Bay Lightning. With an injury to Nick Foligno,
we are seeing the first reshuffling of the lines of the season.
We're going to be taking a look at these lines, going over what
this will entail heading into tonight's game, as well as this road trip.
We're looking at a very interesting set of games coming up
with some pretty big challenges, and we're going to need a few players to step up.
Like I said, we have a lot of updates to cover here in this one.
So if you haven't already, folks, be sure to drop a sub here on the channel.
I want to make sure you're staying up to date with the Minnesota Wild,
as well as keeping everything here on the channel.
We're also on the road to 6,000 subscribers.
If you haven't already, help us get to our goal.
We're currently setting at 5,563, just under 500 away.
And I want to say once again, every video, thank you guys for your support.
You guys are incredible.
But I want to get into this one because Nick Foligno has officially
been ruled out for tonight's game, and you see his impact here so far.
Heading into last season or going through last season, you know we saw him
at the tail end of the season after the trade deadline with the Minnesota Wild.
He was someone that, although not playing, you know, the biggest role statistically,
his role with his brother was, you know, more than we could have asked for.
And we saw the lines last year, the way they were structured,
how this team played in the postseason, the playoffs.
That really summed up what the role of Nick Foligno is with a lineup that has
a few younger players that are still looking to find that experience,
and we look at the lines here this morning.
This is what we were looking at.
Blake Coleman, Eric Sneddon, Caprizzoff, Yurov, Shabunov. Those have not changed.
However.
Marcus Leno up to the third line with Hartman and Brink.
Trennan goes down to the third line with McHareen
and Nico Stern jumps into the lineup for his first game of the season.
With the defense staying the same now.
Looking at this bottom six, I actually kind of like it.
You know, Marcus Leno has been a guy that I would like to see get more ice
time here throughout the season, just because of the style of game he plays.
And you know, one big issue that I guess we haven't faced this year is players
not getting enough ice time. He's been getting you know a very good amount.
We've seen the bottom six kind of blend in with the middle six
and ultimately into the top six with time and ice this season.
Nobody's really taking the cake with the most.
So getting Marcus Leno a little bit more with Bobby Brink and Ryan Hartman.
I think one thing that this will do is.
Make Bobby Brink get a little bit more comfortable with his game,
and so far this season.
It's been good, you know. There's really no other way of describing it.
He's played like a dog, and I think that getting someone else on your line
who plays like a dog as well as does Trent, but I think Marcus Folino just
that little bit more will be another kind of big boost to this lineup.
So, you know, with Nick Folino out, this is going to be kind
of a replacement that you might get a little bit more offense.
But I'm curious to see mainly how the pairings will look.
And when you see it here on the depth chart that we're looking at today,
and you kind of see the way that this lines up, you see that the bottom there
and left Nick Folino's out. Don't know the exact time thus far,
but these are the morning skates with out Nick Folino.
So, folks, give me your thoughts on this.
And obviously, the picture is still Nick Folino there, but it's not.
It's supposed to be Nico Storm down on that fourth line, right wing slot.
But Storm being in the lineup, you know, I'm completely content with this.
We saw him last year be pretty good on the faceoff dot,
which is a huge thing that we need to see a bonus on this wild team.
But you know, you're looking at the the other parts of it.
His faceoff, you know, no matter which situation, third period,
overtime, defensive zone, neutral zone, offense zone,
you don't have a weakness on that really, and you know.
That's gonna be a very important thing to consider when you're looking
at must-win draws, especially in this game against the Tampa Bay Lightning team,
which still has you know no matter what year it's
been the past ten years pretty much an incredible offense.
So, folks, give me your thoughts on this,
and I guess in you know exchange with this and you know with this happening,
Nico Sturm now jumping into the lineup, Tyler Pitlick was recalled
by the Wild to give them an extra forward on the road trip.
So, not yet is it you know your your Charlie Stramels,
it's not your Hunter Hates just yet, but.
Later on in the season, you know this may be the opportunity where we see one
of these guys recalled or called up for the first time.
So, give me your thoughts on these moves ahead of tonight's game, folks.
But there's one thing I'm excited for,
and it is a very interesting game against the Lightning because.
We have some players who play very well against the Lightning,
and you're looking at Kaprizov and his last five games against Tampa.
Three goals, on or I guess three points. Excuse me, on November is that a November?
That's October twenty-fourth, sorry, and November first from last.
Err, no, excuse me, twenty twenty-three.
So given you know his games hasn't been a long time since we've seen him play,
but since that season and you know going back a couple years,
he has statistically been very very good against the Lightning and you know.
An Eastern-West team playing each other, two very good teams.
It's always going to be a very fun game to watch,
and you're looking at the standings right now.
At least when we're looking at, I'll pull up here, so we just see the Central.
You want to make sure you're getting some more wins because
although Colorado's sitting at two and one, Nashville one one and one,
Dallas one and two, you got Winnipeg three and one.
You know how long will that last? You don't really know. Utah three and one.
No, you want to get out early and you want to get that comfortable lead
so you can really control how things go in the Central.
Sort of like what we saw last year, where you know.
These three teams between Dallas, Colorado, and Minnesota were bouncing back
and forth for quite some time until we saw Colorado really take that with them. So.
You know, a big game here tonight, regardless.
But with that, you know, top six staying intact, you know, continuing on with that,
we want to see that, and I think more chemistry being developed through
that second line is going to be the key factor to this game.
But you know, we can talk about our off offense, we can talk about our defense,
but you really need to keep the lightning at bay.
And I mean, the tests are going to be Kucherov down the middle.
You know, you don't want to have long shifts in the defensive zone
because this team on Tampa they have can just simply control everything
that they can get their hands on, and you know.
If you get a tired forward, you're basically playing a man down.
That's the point where they are against the Lightning. So.
You know, just taking the lead, creating early, and getting things going will
be the key to success here in this game, as well as yes for Wallsted.
You know, he's getting the start against Tampa. Another start for him this season.
He's played every game thus far, and the confidence is there.
You know, there's no doubt in my mind that he's the right guy to do it, and.
You know, the reaction to the tweet from Michael Russo saying Wallsted starts.
The confidence is there from the fans. The confidence is there from the team.
That's why he's played every game, and especially against a big team like Tampa.
On you know, no no rest. I guess we could say normal rest between games.
You know you're gonna want him to see him step up again and continue what he's done,
but the big thing is you do not want to rely on him.
And if we go right here and look at the rest of goalies.
You know, Walstad's been busy.
One day arrest here in nine thirty three save percentage
so he's been great seventy five shot space and he started all games.
Calvin Pickard has yet to play and you know maybe we'll see him on this road trip.
In my opinion, I think we will,
but you never really know what's going to happen with this until we actually see
the decision be made of who will start in which game. But you know I oh I'll trust
the offset for me and you see here the high danger opportunities and low danger.
He's been absolutely fantastic in high danger chances,
medium danger kind of honestly you know a little bit uh below average, but.
You know, looking at the save percentage in low danger and high danger chances,
you know that's where you're really seeing Jesper Wallstedt be that star goalie
that we've been waiting for him to be. So I'm super excited about it.
Excited to see what the special teams has them play tonight as well.
But you know, Tampa is going to be a very tough challenge to start this. So.
You know you're looking at the power play of that Tampa had in practice today,
Kucherov. You got to watch him. Denslow in point.
This is a very good team overall.
We know the keys tonight, and we know what we got to do.
Got to hold their assignments in the bottom six,
creating chances in the top six, and the penalty kill.
Got to stay disciplined as it has, and it's going to be a good game tonight.
So, folks, give me your thoughts on this.
Can the Wild win with these new lines? Obviously, I'm going a yes.
The depth steps up. That's why this Wild team is built the way it is.
But give me your thoughts down below as well.
But that is all I have here in this video.
If you did enjoy, give it a like. Hit the sub button as well.
I'm signing out. Thank you for watching. Hope you have a great day.
