Last minute Wild Changes, Reports and News Against Vegas...
Oct 14, 2026
The Minnesota Wild have dropped
multiple updates ahead of tonight's game
against the Vegas Golden Knights,
including what is to be expected for this game
with the lines, with all of these injury updates,
with the lineup being announced,
as well as what to expect in the following games
as Jesper Wallstedt is slated to get the net again tonight.
Folks, we have a lot to break down here in today's video,
and I just want to say a big happy
Canadian Thanksgiving to all of you guys
celebrating it here today
and yesterday that's why there was no video yesterday we're back on the
road and videos coming out every single day
and i just want to say a big thank you all for tuning
in to the videos every single day
and if you haven't already be sure to drop us up here and
hit that subscribe button to make sure you're getting all
of your Minnesota Wild but i want
to get into it going ahead into the morning skate
from today as you see Marc Russo saying
Zach Bogosian who had a lower body injury
and you know was not out was not uh you know any long-term
issue or whatnot he was in the morning skate there was some idea
or a thought that he may
miss tonight's game but that does not seem
to be the case according to the lines that we have seen
Nick Foligno and Marcus Foligno lower
and effectively are not skating and will not be in
tonight's lineup as we look at the lines
and you know kind of getting the availability of tonight
obviously Brock Faber is a no Philip Gustafsson
is in the no Zach Bogosian he did skate and you know
It may be a game-time decision.
He was practicing, so looking good on his end.
But as for the Polinos, both are not in tonight's lineup as of this point.
And looking at these four lines right here, we can take a look at this.
Once again, Riga Lawrence getting that opportunity on the third line
alongside Gurov and Frank.
Stir, McHaren, and Trenton on the fourth line.
And that first loaded line, once again, coming into play.
Kaprizov, Eriksson Ek, and Boldy, Coleman, Hartman, and Shabunov.
Now, this was a fantastic last game,
and I think that's a hard opportunity to pass up once again
after seeing the game that we saw last night for the Wild.
Also, knowing that Boldy got his first goal,
you know, you're really seeing this team line up with a great opportunity again.
You're not going to change that up after
the game that we saw from them against Florida.
and you know, continuing on until you know we see another line change,
This is what I'm thinking we're going to stick with,
even though we know the idea of Yurov,
Shabunov, and Kaprizov playing together
is still very intriguing.
You know, getting more games under
your belt will not hurt in any format.
Now, those two offenses, same thing as what we've seen in the defense,
also is going to what we have seen.
Hughes' version, Mrazek and Brodin, Damon Hunt, and David Svacek
are what the projected lines are tonight.
So, you know, that could still
be Zach Bogosian there instead of David Svacek.
But it's going to be one or the other,
and that will be known come the warm-ups today.
And Wallstedt starts hiked back up.
Now, this is another huge game for Wallstead.
I mean, you're looking at this game tonight against Vegas,
a team that's always been a very competitive team
to play against if you're the Wild.
But, well, yes, for Jesper Wallstedt,
has started every game for Minnesota to this point.
And correct me if I'm wrong,
but maybe the only goalie in the NHL who has played every game so far.
you know, this is the big opportunity
that we've continued to talk about for him, he wants
to be in that, he wants to be the guy, but I do wonder
and you know not necessarily worry about
the wear and tear that he may be facing early in the season
but I want to make sure he's given a
break you know from what we're looking at at least now
from the recent report that we're also going
to touch on here in just a minute seems like he's going
to be getting his day off very very soon now
you see this as well you're looking at here a lineup without
or with the changes excuse me
Rieger Lawrence jumping up there on that third line fourth line
also going to have you know
some lines here this is not exactly the full lineup
that we've been looking at but having
McCarron, Brennan, Nico Sturm on that fourth line Hartman
and Uroff being uh switched around
and you're seeing that first line
and second line back to the way they were that's apparently
are not excuse me that's not what we're going
to be looking at tonight if things continue to roll
as they have but we may end up seeing
this at some point throughout the game so something to keep an
eye on as this game goes away uh goes away
and how this team may actually play against vegas and
we don't know regardless they're going
to be a tough competition now you're looking at the
comparison here with Eric Sorensen
and the way he's played i feel like when you're looking at him
with Matt Boldy and Kirill Kaprizov
in performance for them together.
The goal is four together, zero goals against.
The share of shot attempts.
You know, he's just a very, very good player.
And I think at the end of the day,
when you're looking at Eric Sorensen
with Boldy and Kaprizov,
it just makes sense.
You know, we've seen that line together
for however long, you know,
multiple seasons at this point.
And they know how to play together very, very well.
And when we're looking at Eric Sinek,
Boldy and Coleman,
which we know is another good line,
you see, they didn't just produce
the offense we wanted to see
and 32 minutes played by Boldy Kaprizov a little bit more
than what we saw with Boldy Coleman goes
to show how much John Hines has been going back to that
line and you know being the one that he trusts the most on this team
so that is a big reason as to
why we're seeing that top line still remain the exact same
and you know when you're looking at
Kaprizov this season four points
in last game against Florida on that top line it's so hard
to be able to take him off that line you know you can't do it
and i think that really sums it up
as to you know another big reason there's
another big point that John Hines could use
in his favor to explain the decision to keep
that line together you're getting Kaprizov still
rolling but the biggest thing is i think
also getting Matt Boldy uh you know off his off off
his feet you know continue to roll the way he was last game
so it's going to be a huge benefit i
I mean, plus, Kirill Kaprizov against Vegas is,
you know, he's a guy you want to have out there.
I think it's the best way to sum it up
because he does have a little bit less on the points per game
or points or goals per game against Vegas than other teams.
But he's a guy that regardless, you know,
I don't really care who you're playing him against.
He's someone that you need to have out there against the good teams.
And that goes for tonight as well.
He is generating a lot more shots per game against Vegas,
though, on average than the majority of teams.
And that's one thing that, so far, he hasn't really done in some games
when paired with Yurov and Shabanov.
So, folks, give me your thoughts on this tonight,
because I think, once again, the top line is the one to keep an eye on.
Eric Steel, who's been playing good so far this season.
Matt Boldy, who's starting to play well this season,
finally getting on the board and ranks eighth in shots in the NHL
and only having one goal.
Certainly something we're going to see more of over these coming games.
And if I were looking at trying to put a goal score in tonight's game,
I think I may go Matt Boldy, even over Kirill Kaprizov.
Let me know if I'm kind of crazy there,
but that's a good look on the offense again tonight.
Now, the blue line.
One thing that I want to point out,
just because it's been the same thing,
Hughes and Spurgeon became the first defenseman duo in NHL history,
believe it or not, to record simultaneous season opening point streaks
of five games for NHL stats.
Now, that's kind of crazy to think about because, you know,
looking at how this season has gone so far,
Spurgeon jumping into the role that Brock Faber would
be playing immediately to start the season,
huge benefit for him playing with Quinn Hughes
but also a big shout out to him for
adjusting to that that quick
but seems like something that would be very common not at all
and something special the Wild defensive pairing doing here
so another big thing that we're going
to have to keep an eye on tonight ahead of this game against Vegas
because once again they're a
tough tough test and we know that regardless
of whatever is going to happen whoever is going to
be out there at any given scenario you're going
to have to play your top guys so a lot of benefit
to that through this morning's practice
and this morning's skate revealing all
of this, and you're looking at the Central Division
standings here. Minnesota sits number two
behind Utah, and Winnipeg,
still a very good team at this
point. Just behind
the Wild, I guess, technically
with the Wild, but if you're going against
the Bulls for
we'll throw the Wild here in the better
category. So, just something I want to point
out as well, because as we look tonight
Walstad starting, and we're looking at
every game he's played so far, he's
been busy it's been very very good however
and it's time to get him a break and we're looking
at that come the game against Winnipeg
and you see this here from Michael Russo officially
announcing it Walstad starts tonight Pickard's debut is in Winnipeg
so that is one that we're
going to have to keep an eye on against
a very good Winnipeg team you want to win it still but
I think we trust Calvin Pickard to do it
and give Walstad the break so give me your thoughts on this
down below folks but that is all I have here in this W if you want
or in this video excuse me if
you want a w be sure to drop a like on the video subscribe
to the channel do it yes drop up the
dubs but that's all i got in this one give me
your predictions down below for tonight that is
all i have thank you for watching folks hope you have a great day
