The May Spartan Death Race Challenge was different from the other crazy physical challenges up to this point. This time, I had to spend at least four hours completing a community service project that benefited someone outside my family (and it had to be physical in nature). A sweet lady in our community had recently lost her mother, and her mother’s property needed a lot of attention. I spent the day picking up sticks, mowing, edging, trimming tree limbs, and doing everything I could to make the yard/property look better than when I arrived. The transformation was great, but her reaction meant even more. She was overwhelmed by the act of kindness and incredibly appreciative. This challenge reminded me that grit isn’t only about what we can endure or accomplish for ourselves—it’s also about using our strength, time, resources, and abilities to serve others. This is another step in my journey toward the Spartan Summer Death Race.
Be Grittier. Serve others. Give God the glory.

The video follows a creator completing a community service project as part of the \"May Death Race Challenge.\" The creator spends the day cleaning up and landscaping the property of a local woman whose mother recently passed away, helping her prepare the home for a potential sale through yard work and trimming.
Welcome to my life, welcome to my life, yeah
On the bright side
Yeah, this music here became my only lifeline
Think I'm going crazy, I'm not in my right mind
On the bright side, yeah, ay
Yeah, one leg out that brand new Benz way
Hometown asking, am I rich, yeah
Repetition from my chest, that's a bench press
Seeing more behind the frame, future driver feel the shake
Thinking ain't nobody feel the way I do
But someone gotta feel the same, yeah
On the bright side
Yeah, this music here became my only lifeline
Think I'm going crazy, I'm not in my right mind, yeah
Welcome to my life, welcome to my life, yeah
Welcome to my life, welcome to my
For my community project for the death race
I'm going to clean up this yard
This is a really sweet lady that's in our community
Whose mother passed away
This is her mother's house
They're trying to just do something with it
So that they can maybe sell it
Anyways, they don't really have a whole lot of help with it
So I'm coming out here today
To cut the grass, weed eat
And just pick up the sticks
And just try to clean up the property a little bit
Alright, it's 8.15, 8.17
Let's get started
Your silhouette
Needed somebody to show the way
Yeah, I was a heartbeat with no sound
Till you came around
Yeah, you showed me colors
Light in the darkness
You were the only thing I needed
Then we got older but we stayed the same
Swear that we never lost the flame
No soldier
You're an echo in my head
Oh no
The backyard's cut
I think it looks pretty good
It was really tall in this area
The shaded area doesn't get a whole lot of sun
So it wasn't too bad
But it looks so much better
Everything is cut back here
Let's move to the side yards and the front yard
Like a symphony
Of our memories
Oh
What if the years turn into gold
The longer we live, yeah, the more we grow
We could be hundred miles apart
But it's never far
Yeah, you showed me colors
Light in the darkness
You were the only thing I needed
Then we got older but we stayed the same
Swear that we never lost the flame
No
Like a symphony
So all the grass is now cut
Man, that front yard looks so much better
And then around on the sides
Sides
So now I need to do some trimming
Finished the weed eating
I'm going to trim some limbs around some of these bushes and trees
That are just really overgrown and in the way
Only silhouette
Needed somebody to show the way
Yeah, I was a heartbeat with no sound
Till you came around
Yeah, you showed me colors
Light in the darkness
You were the only thing I needed
Then we got older but we stayed the same
Swear that we never lost the flame
No soldier
During that
Like a symphony
Of our memories
Oh
What if the years turn into gold
The longer we live
Yeah, the more we grow
We could be hundred miles apart
Yeah, you showed me colors
The yard is done
It looks good
12-17
Let's take a look man
Trimmed up the trees
They look so much better
So overgrown
All that thick grass cut
In the front
Looks so much better
Trimmed up those trees that needed it badly
The trees over here on this side of the front
Needed it badly
Yard looks good
Got a big old brush pile out there
Well it was good doing some community service
I know she's going to be super appreciative of this
So that concludes the May Death Race Challenge
Subscribe, my man, Murph Squad
