AI GeneratedFollowing a tough loss to the 49ers, the Broncos are dealing with injuries to key players Pat Surtain II and Pat Bryant. While initial fears suggested season-ending injuries, updates confirm both avoided the worst-case scenario and are expected to miss only a few weeks, though the possibility of IR remains.
The Broncos have to respond after an unfortunate loss to the 49ers in the middle of what I would
consider one of the hardest stretches in recent memory in Broncos schedule recent memory. This
is a good Broncos team and yet we are dealing with obviously an unfortunate loss number two
of the season in 2026. I'm Sebastian with your host or as your host of Broncos Digest and welcome
back. So you know unfortunate news that we're talking about today. It's not a victory Monday.
It is a defeat Monday and we are dealing with the losses of two players that are pretty crucial to
this team who've been you know big parts of the wins that we've been having and just keeping us
competitive in general. Now can we win next week without them? Yes. Will we? We'll find out. I mean
this is a team that it's almost impossible to predict. The talent is there absolutely. It's
really are the coaches putting them in the best positions but we'll be talking about you know all
the injuries that happened all the updates that you need to be aware of and where you know what
to be expecting going forward. Make sure to subscribe join Broncos Digest as we move forward
in this season and with that being said let's just kind of jump right into this. So first things first
Pat Sertan and Pat Bryant. The two Pats they did get injured in this game. Unfortunately everyone
was reacting really like negatively thinking the season was over that we lost both of them to you
know season-ending injuries. We have gotten news since then an update that is not the case.
Fortunately for us both Pat and this was confirmed by Adam Schefter and Ian Rappaport
that both star Pat Sertan the second and Pat Bryant got their MRIs the same day today and
they avoided the worst case scenario and both of their ankle injuries are both absences of
anything that is long term and you know expect to be anything you know just from a couple weeks. So
we you know some people were thinking that we were dealing with like a season-long injury
not the case for either of them thankfully. Now how long they are actually out we will find out
in the next coming days. Some people are already speculating just a couple weeks. If one of them
or both get placed on IR that means they will be out for four games for four weeks.
The hope is that we do not see that you know you hope that like we just avoid that kind of thing
we keep them because the only reason why they would put them on IR is to elevate someone from
a practice squad use that roster spot while they get better but the hope is that they're they're
only out for like one to two games you know like and by the week or that seven they'll be back
but if they do get placed on IR they'll be out for weeks five six seven and eight that's a lot
of games that's that's a whole quarter of the season you don't you don't want to see that
happen so with that being said like let we'll find out what this ends up being but it didn't
look great obviously in the moment you know when when this happened you know everyone was saying
that like you know Pat Bryant going out is devastating more devastating to this wide
receiver room than maybe even Cortland Sutton going down and not that we would ever want anyone
else to go down but it's like you know Pat Bryant has become almost the wide receiver two of this
team uh in in in very short time and Cortland Sutton we all love the guy to death but like
he has become a ghost in this offense they don't know how to use him when to use him how to like
anything and it's it's been a really uh devastating kind of uh development i would say over the season
over the past couple of years uh they just don't know what to do with them um and then you know
regarding ps2's absence for the last part of the game against the Niners uh Benjamin Albright
said that those people who were claiming uh Jaday Barron couldn't play are really quiet right now
he did do what he could um unfortunately we we weren't able to hold up on the drive that we
needed the defense to hold up on at the end of the game with Kittle taking the screen to the house
and you know winning the game but you know the Broncos offense just they need to hold up their
their end of the bargain they're not doing enough and they're taking advantage of a defense that's
keeping them in the game a lot of the time um but yeah Jeremy Fowler did report that uh Broncos
uh corner passer tan is uh expected to be week to week with uh one bracing for him to be missing
about two weeks that being one of the sources is bracing for it to be you know missing for two
games so hopefully that's the case we don't mean you know obviously we don't want to go against
Seattle and defend JSN with you know our two backup corners we'll find out more about Riley Moss
we just we're still waiting on an update about him but uh yeah short term it's looking like maybe
two weeks so or two games that will be without PS2 we just gotta survive man we gotta beat the
Chargers that is a must win Seattle also preferable to win that game if possible but uh Chargers you
know that's a game where it's like that team is down horrendous down bad you gotta take advantage
of the bad vibes you can't let us be their get back game uh they've really had our number in the
past you know when Herbert is playing even though he's playing so poorly right now not having your
top two corners is gonna allow things to happen for their offense so uh we'll have to see how this
defense responds um but yeah that is the current situation of the team and um but all things
considered this is still good news this is all relieving you know Scotty Payne from mile high
report said honestly this is great news for both players after a tough loss to the Niners and uh
their pesky injury creating substation the fear that uh the Broncos may have lost both players
for the entire season it's you know it's relieving uh PS2 suffered a non-contact injury and was
unable to put much weight on his ankle and need to be helped off the field as for Pat Bryant his
knee and ankle bent awkwardly and he was eventually carted off the field it did not look great for
either player but again this is great news it remains to be seen if one or both players will be
placed on the short-term injury reserve list but we should find that out in the coming days like we
were just talking about so um it's just a matter of like you know what they decide to do hopefully
it's not the case hopefully both of them are just out a couple weeks and we you know we predicated
this team on being a deep team that will be tested in the next couple of weeks so we'll find
out but uh um when it comes to corner depth listen we were almost complaining that we had too many
corners in the offseason now with both of our corners going down with Riley and Pastor Tan
now it's like oh you know it's we're glad that we have guys um you know like Jaday Barron and uh
not McLaughlin sorry uh I am so sorry uh they are we have some really good corner depth um so
Skyping from Mile High Report said that um you know with PS2 sideline look for uh 2025 first
round pick Jaday Barron to fill in as a starter he did come in as a relief uh Jaquen McMillan
sorry that's who I was thinking of uh for uh PS2 on Sunday and played well that being Jaday Barron
he made a few nice plays in coverage and also had a few big hits on the Niners ball carriers
a lot has been made of his limited snap counts this season but now we'll have to have the
opportunity to prove himself against the Chargers and the Seahawks we still haven't had an update
on Riley Moss and his ribs uh but uh you know if he can't play that's going to be Chris Abrams
Doreen that will fill in for him as he did on Sunday the Broncos corner depth will be tested
at this point this season so um that being said we have corner depth wide receiver depth while we
did think was going to be pretty deep doesn't feel nearly as deep considering the offensive
struggles that we've been having so uh it's it's you could almost argue that the Pat Bryant injury
going down with him being the more productive receiver behind Jalen Waddell it might even hurt
more than like a PS2 injury which is crazy to even imagine uh Sierra Benninger from Predominantly
Orange said that losing Bryant right now feels like a huge setback for the offense uh Pat Bryant
had one of the best training camps of any player on the team and has already been looking like one
of the offense's only consistent weapons so far this season he was injured on a big catch and run
against the 49ers as the Broncos were trying to climb back into the game the Broncos are going
to need more out of Cortland Sutton who has been a major disappointment so far this season they're
also going to need to get more out of Jalen Waddell who they seemingly refuse to incorporate
into the offensive game plan this something is going on behind the scenes when it comes to just
what's happening on offense like there's no denying that and it's not the player's fault we we know
their talent we know how good they are but it's like something's got to give and I mean I've been
seeing some Broncos uh you know film analysts on on online saying that like guys like we're looking
at the all 22 guys are open Bo's not seeing them Bo's not making the right reads something this is
a Bo problem and we'll get it we'll probably we will definitely have a video dedicated to the
struggles that Bo Nix is having right now uh just going into a new system and why people are calling
for Davis Webb to give up play calling which I still think is silly this I don't think it would
change much uh with how this team is being run I do think this is a Sean Payton problem overall
but uh again like but it's also a Bo Nix problem I think that uh there are things in this offense
that he could be doing better and uh taking advantage of so I just you know seeing Pat
Bryant go down who has been a reliable guy in uh all week uh four weeks of the season so far
doesn't feel great Troy Franklin his name's gonna be called a lot more Marvin Mims if he can stay
healthy Cortland Sutton if he can freaking get open I mean that's the thing is like it seems
like the only guys who have been able to create separation so far are Jalen Waddell are Pat
Bryant maybe even Evan Ingram surprisingly enough um but it's it's just an unfortunate situation
that you don't want to see the offense and uh again uh you know PS2 by far like the best corner
in the league and you know that's that's not in question so losing him is a really big hit but
thankfully the Chargers don't have the scariest receivers doesn't mean that they can't produce
doesn't mean that we can't have a bad day you know any given Sunday even for you know 0-14
going against uh us being 2-2 like you just don't know what's going to happen um it's a division
rival they know us really well that's just the nature of the game it's not going to be fun
playing without these guys but um again this is honestly kind of a happy video because we didn't
lose them for the season we still get to see them whether it's like you know two to three weeks
you know we'll see them again playing on the field and uh crossing fingers that we you know keep
trying to win or able to win some games uh while they're away so what do you guys think about all
this I want to hear your thoughts and comments in the in the comment section and uh I'll I'll
make that video on the on Bo Nicks uh probably the next one and Davis Webb and Sean Payton that
whole conundrum uh but yeah let me know what you guys think about these injuries down below
until next video I'll see you then
