Shooting at University Street light rail station in Seattle

Before we get to that, there is breaking news right now. We were tracking in Seattle. There's been a shooting inside a light rail station. The shooting happened at the University Street Station, which just opened back up in the last hour. King 5's Anjali Kakade is there right now. What do we know right now, Anjali? Well, Mimi, just as you said, the big update is that the light rail station here just opened up in the last 45, 50 minutes or so. We're seeing those first people come up the escalator at the station and going down in. So that probably caused a little bit of chaos earlier this morning, just not being able to have this station, people having to use Pioneer Square or Westlake to get to their destination. But again, all that is over, all clear. There's no longer a scene here. We do know that the shooting happened inside the tunnel at the University Street Station here earlier this morning. But in terms of what led up to the shooting, we're still trying to get information from police on that, as well as the suspect who was doing the shooting, as well as the victim, if they were taken to a nearby hospital or any of their injuries. As soon as we get any of that information, we'll be sure to bring that to you here on King 5. But for now, reporting live in downtown Seattle, Anjali Kakade, King 5.
