Washington families grapple with food insecurity: 'It is a question of survival'

Staggering new numbers from Food Lifeline show food insecurity in western Washington has increased nearly 60%, and the people visiting food banks are working families.

This is one of the reasons KOMO News has teamed up with Food Lifeline to Tackle Hunger.

"We're creating about 233,000 meals every single day," Mark Coleman with Food Lifeline said. "This warehouse will move somewhere between 75 and 80 million pounds of food this year alone."
