So NBA trade rumors next big with next for Cavaliers Minga and so that doesn't really relate to the Grizzlies at all But Sean Devaney the writer here links one of the Grizzlies guards to Some rumors Hey these guys they could get moved but you see it's a whole list of guys that you think could get moved basically looking at different contracts and Different fits what fits what doesn't and he was the first one To point out Ty Jerome Those remaining contract is two years nineteen million dollars including a player option to Rome Take advantage of the mess in Memphis last year average Three-point line the Grizzlies will need to pin out their roster the 29 year old Jerome really does not fit here and we have good value So right off the bat What do we kind of see that's a little bit off about We really have first of all, we really haven't gotten to see Jerome or Even a handful of action last season and I feel like it's a little bit unfair to say that if they say He doesn't really fit I feel like we haven't really gotten to that point where we can judge that yet but I'm looking at a guy who Shoots his butt off and he loves to shoot from deep. He's got better at shooting from deep You've got to have that and be Memphis is one of them more allows your three-point shooting team That's something John Moran did not really used to do all that. Well But the Grizzlies do need to pin out the roster. I do me I do agree with that but What do they do? How do they need? Is Jerome the right guy or the wrong guy? Sean Devaney seems to think that Jerome is someone that the Grizzlies can live without Good value if you want to trade him. Hey good value for that but we haven't really judged him for really truly who he is and I feel like it's a little bit of an unfair thing to say that. Hey, look, we're trying to get some pieces for this guy, but We haven't really seen what he can do So let's you know the real fair, but that was with tied to Rome We've made other videos before I at least one thing that we made here on Grizzlies digest We point out one of the other guards in the league a young guard Who's been getting some looks around the association? That's Jordan Hawkins Many contract for him is one year seven million dollar deal Hawkins never lived up to his lottery billing after his impressive UConn tournament 2023 So the fact he's on the trade block and probably not exactly newsworthy still only 24 But a career 37.4% shooter So look the Pelicans, I mean they're look if you think the Grizzlies are One of the bottom feeding teams right now you need to look no further than the New Orleans Pelicans right now because They got a whole bunch of work to be doing they might just sell sell sell Get rid of a whole bunch of guys You know and build around Zion for the future. They need to be looking at a lot of future picks right now so that's the only reason why I Think if the Grizzlies do want to take on someone like Jordan Hawkins That would be the better excuse the better excuse would be for New Orleans standpoint to do that to get future assets money picks all that good stuff, but Then you think about what Jordan Hawkins back to do. I mean, I'm still thinking about what? AJ Johnson connected to I mean, he's a younger guy, but still very unproven but maybe still With a little bit work to be done with him. But I mean, hey There's a history there with Jordan Hawkins, is it just a matter of getting him on the right with the right coach right the right staff so that's all I have to say there, but then I Look and see at this one last guy And I've said this in some of the very first videos that we had here, but Never we started this journey back around March of 2025 Hard to believe we're Way to 20.7 at this point You know, I could remember I could remember the early 2000 like it was nothing but this guy this kid was having the time of his life here at Memphis and Look to be I mean growing rapidly in his NBA career and the Lakers were just like hey, you know what? Let's elevate this kid. Let's do something and That's Jake Moravia Now the Lakers They have him on a very friendly beat one year six million dollars deal husband plays every game but inconsistent I'm track makes an attractive piece though as the Lakers figure out how to finish the roster But I mean we weren't saying what we were saying. He hustled look he hustled That's what he's always good that's what his game is based off of it's hustle hard determination but inconsistent I guess you can say that about his offensive game, but he was rolling here and if you need Some numbers to jog your memory Good thing I have that for you Put it up on the full screen here. So that's Jake Arabia going back to his years with the Memphis Grizzlies Spent about two and a half seasons with them before being traded to Sacramento then Lakers were like, hey, let's get this kid But all 82 games with them last year And then with Memphis, let's play 47 games averaging around that 20 24 minute mark you know Seven point three points a game was averaging ten point eight points a game in that lost season that 23 24 season Which a lot of fans call the lost season but a decent free-throw shooter and A hustle guy gets his teammates involved You don't think of him as? the best shooter on the court But look at his three points there's forty four point four percent in the forty seven games He was playing in Memphis before he got traded to Sacramento I'm like look, you know, this kid is some Like I mean give him a shot I still don't know why and he was in that trade in the market smart Moravia trade I still to this day. Don't know why he was traded. I thought he had something good here and Maybe the Grizzlies thought hey, we can get something good and it end up being think You can fact-check me in the comment section. I believe that was the Marvin Someone can fact-check me in that if not, yeah, please let me know who that was, but I believe that's who that was and But Moravia wasn't I mean he ended up playing some of his best basketball Showing us some of his best showing us the hustle and that's what the Grizzlies need. I mean he is Grizzlies basketball So look, I don't think anything's gonna happen with Ty Jerome. I really hope not. I think we really need to see what he's like But if there's a path to get Jake Moravia back, he's on that friendly deal with a one-year six million dollar deal I mean, but he speaks Memphis He's been here You know, he's been around Scottie Pippen and Gigi Jackson, you know, obviously there are a lot of new players now at this point, but I Mean get him involved like get him involved and just if this if there is a Opportunity to bring him back man. I'm all for it I know I'm talking too much about him But either way look he was cheated out of a longer tenure with this team I really think we ought to see what more he can do.
