A surprising Patriots trade is incoming as an NFL analyst reveals a wild report on the Patriots
trade rumors after losing A.J. Brown for seemingly half the season. Almost three new wide receivers
on the trade market have been linked to the New England Patriots alongside another trade target
as well that we'll talk about. And it's pretty wild if you ask me. We'll break down all three
of these wide receivers, how they would fit, what the price would be, what their contracts are,
and so much more here today on Patriots Digest. We appreciate you watching. Hope you're having
a great day wherever you guys might be. And before we get going, what a reminder to hit that
subscribe button as we are closing in on a milestone here on Patriots Digest. We're 73
subscribers away from 13,000. We've grown this channel from basically the dirt all the way to
here. I can't thank you enough and I can't wait to keep growing throughout this year. But we are 73
away from 13K. So if you are looking for daily Patriots content and coverage, we got you here.
Hit that subscribe button. OK, so there was an article that was released earlier this week or
about a day ago now, and it's one that's released every single week by Bleacher Report. And it's
this the trade block big board for week number two. And of course, they update this throughout
the week. They put different players, they put different teams that are connected.
But the Patriots on this article out of the 10 players were linked to four of them. That's the
most by any other NFL team. Now, a large portion of that was because they feel as though the Patriots
could use a wide receiver. And there's an argument to be made that once AJ Brown comes back,
that's true. With the way Romeo Dobbs played and certain situations, you might think the Patriots
wouldn't mind having an extra wide receiver in general. Plus, you don't really have a lot of
time from when AJ Brown gets back to the trade deadline to make that decision. So it kind of
puts you in an interestingly, we'll say tough spot. That being said, I still think Pop Douglas
is going to score this week against the Pittsburgh Steelers. So I'm pretty confident we're going to
get a touchdown here, which is why I'm trading yes on him to score on Cauchy. Twenty five dollars
and ninety five cents back. So winning almost one hundred dollars and on Cauchy, you're trading
directly against other users, not the house like a traditional sportsbook. You're buying yes or no
contracts on the outcome of events across sports, politics, even the weather you can trade on.
It's crazy. Now you can trade on Pop Douglas to score. Like I said, I still think the wide
receiver is pretty solid. You also trade on the Patriots to just win this game outright.
Trade yes on them. Twenty five dollars went to thirty five dollars and ninety five cents back.
So that's a little ten dollar gain right there. And if you're interested in trying out a presenting
Cauchy today, we've got a link and a deal you can't pass up because if you click the link in
the description or in the pinned comment and then you use this code here, digest NFL, you get twenty
five dollars out of your account instantly. Can't find that deal anywhere else. So go check it out
with a link in the description. Again, we appreciate Cauchy for sponsoring today's video.
Now, let's go through these names and we'll go from there. Obviously, from the intro video,
some of these names are a little outlandish, but let's go. The first name that's on the board and
it's intriguing is going to be Brandon. Now, I know, I know he's gone crazy. There's a lot of
things that transpires with that. And he was the tenth guy on this list, but he was linked to the
New England Patriots. And this has long been a thing. We've talked about the Patriots for the
past couple of years. The biggest thing he might still have the wide receiver talent, but it's the
potential mental issues that cause the problem. Now, it's getting to the point where it's a
but it is interesting. They continue to put Brandon on this list. And just to put the stats
in context again, we're going to we're going to we're going to move quickly through this one. But
over thirteen hundred yards the last time he was active in a football season and healthy.
Obviously, twenty twenty four is when he had the same injury. And well, has been since then. And
the Niners have not released him. They haven't really done much with him, which is why his
contract is still in a well, interesting spot. I mean, his cap it not that bad. But again,
it's really just an interesting situation all around. When you talk about what he is going
through and what he's getting paid to do this. So I think there is something to note that he
is a guy who would, you know, should he play like he did when he was healthy and both mentally and
physically, that'd be a great addition to this team and wouldn't cost you a lot like it wouldn't
really. The question is, is it worth the drama and is it worth the thought process that he will
actually play? Because that's such a risk. And the Niners, I mean, heck, they haven't released
him. Now, part of me wants to be a positive guy and say, hey, they haven't released him because
they know that he's trying to get out of there. And as soon as they release him, he's going to
lock back in and immediately go in and become this all pro wide receiver that we saw him as in the
first couple of years. But again, we don't know that's the way that's going to happen. So it's
going to be obviously an interesting thing moving forward with Brandon. Are you in a situation?
Now, obviously, he is lower on the totem pole than any of these guys because he's not actively
played in the NFL for over two years at this point. So that's just a point. The second option
on this list is going to be a guy who we talked about in the offseason. That's Brian Thomas, Jr.
The widers here for the Jacksonville Jaguars, who was a top draft pick for them a couple of years
ago. Now, seemingly not the guy they want to throw to. Parker Washington has became that number one
guy for Trevor Lawrence and for the Jacksonville Jaguars. But Brian Thomas, he's no schmuck for
no, but still 700 plus yards on 14 games and 48 receptions alongside two touchdowns.
That's decently solved. And again, we know what he's capable of. You go back to that rookie season
when he had 1200 yards, pretty solid again, week one, it was three targets, three receptions,
40 yards, nothing really to write home about, but still played pretty solid going into the final
couple of years of his rookie contract. He would be an intriguing asset to bring into this team.
I have mentioned him a couple of different times, but the hard part about this is that
because he is a rookie, because the cap, it is not that crazy. There is a situation where the
Jacksonville Jaguars asking price is a bit more than what the talent that Brian Thomas, Jr.
Possesses at 23 years old. So can they go out there and say, Hey, here's a second rounder.
Here's a third rounder and give it to him. Maybe according to bleach report,
they're saying a fourth rounders, what it would take, which I don't. I mean,
if it's a 2028, fourth rounder, I actually wouldn't mind doing that.
But again, it's, it's really about context of what picks the Jaguars would actually take
if they would actually accept that. And, and what year you can make that, you know, pick be it.
Because right now he's honestly a guy that I think would be very intriguing to watch on this
Patriot staff and does have the deep threat ability. I kind of comparable in some ways to
a young AJ Brown. I know it's very, very different, but he has some similar skill sets and I wouldn't
mind seeing, you know, how exactly that works. And funny enough, the two suitors for Brian Thomas,
Jr. And for Brandon, IU is the Ravens and the Patriots give it out to the Zay flowers injury.
And well, how good the Ravens could be if they added a Patriot wide receiver,
pretty solid. They could add one of these guys, but the Ravens and Patriots were the two potential
suitors listed by bleach report for both Brandon IU and for Brian Thomas, Jr. Again,
are you finishing one? I'm I'm I I've eared towards standing away from him, but there's
the option is there. And then, of course, you think about potential Brian Thomas, Jr. And what
he could bring to the table. Yeah, that's a solid wide receiver. But again, is it going to be
something that the the Jaguars would be willing to do given the contract situation to age and
ultimately the fact that they don't really need to move? I guess that's when they need to do.
The third guy is an intriguing one to me, and I want to talk about him and be
maybe the most to be honest. And that's going to be Jerry Judy of the Cleveland Browns. Now, Judy,
he's been an interesting guy since he came out of Alabama, obviously, most recently with the
Browns, but with the Broncos for the first part of his career, and he was a speedster. He was a
guy who would go down the field and make those big kicks. Now, obviously, later in his career,
I'm not going to say he's old, but later in his career, the speed isn't as much there,
but he's still got the receiving abilities. Now, again, I still think it probably is.
It's a different situation, but similar to Brian Thomas, Jr. He's not this, you know,
amazing guy that you can put in there right away. Last year was 602 yards to receiving touchdowns
across 50 receptions. Again, in the Browns room, that's not terrible. You go back to his days with
the Broncos. Obviously, you know, this is all Cleveland, but we know what she or she was with
the Broncos. Had a thousand yard season back in 2024, had 145 targets. When he gets targets,
he catches the ball. He's not as speedy as he once was. He is in the final year of his contract.
So like there is something in it with that and that's something that I think it actually
would be nice to have. So there is something to note of that, but I think it'd be interesting to,
you know, see him in a Patriots uniform and what exactly that would look like,
how exactly that could fit in there with this wide receiver core they already have.
And I do think that it'd be, you know, something that you have another speedster, but to me,
he's comparable to Pop Douglas and Pop Douglas already has that, you know, relationship with
Drake May. And I think that if they just gave him opportunities, he could probably be like
Jerry Judy, but I don't know. Let me know what you think the suitors for Jerry Judy were listed
as the chiefs and the Patriots. The only other guy I mentioned, there was three or four guys on
the list that was linked to the Patriots was Kayvon Thibodeau, but we've talked about him a lot. So
I didn't feel like we needed a whole video on him. We might do something later on, maybe a
short or something, but overall, I like Kayvon Thibodeau, but it's going to be about the Patriots
can win and be buyers as the real question mark. But let me know if there was a wide receiver you
would like to trade for, who of these would be the most likely you would trade for A for Brandon
IU, B for Brian Thomas, Jr. J for Jerry Judy. Or if you got somebody else you'd like to see in a
Patriots uniform, let us know down in the comment section. For me, it's probably going to be Brian
Thomas, Jr. He's still young. I think there's untapped potential. He has a couple years left
on his contract. I don't think it's going to go away next year. I think it's a pretty good thing
to go out there and see if you could potentially pry away. The question is more or less on the
Jaguars. Would they be willing to, you know, say, quote unquote, give that up? And two, would that
be something that would be worth it for the Patriots if they could get the right pick amount,
the fourth round pick, third round pick, whatever it might be. So let me know what you think down
in the comment section. Of course, we'll see you next time. And of course, we'll be live for the
Steelers versus Patriots game. Be live about, say, 12, 15, 12, 30 Eastern time. So join us before the
game for a little bit of a pregame show. And of course, we'll be live throughout the game. We
appreciate you watching, guys. We'll see you next time here on the show. Peace out.
