It has finally been revealed as we have some major Patriots updates here with 12 of the 17 practice
squad slots filled and some extra injury updates on top of it. We break down all 12 of these players
on the practice squad who the Patriots can go out and add to this and of course get you those injury
updates as well. We got it all for you right here today on Patriots Digest and if you're enjoying
the content second video of the day and you want to be in tune with all things Patriots throughout
the entirety of the season, make sure you hit that subscribe button. It's 100% free to do so
on our road to 15,000 here on the channel. We're also going to be live for game one against the
Seattle Seahawks a week and about two days a day away from that. So really excited for that,
but let's not waste any more time and get right into this practice card. We're gonna go five
players at a time. Here are the first five that were announced or at least the five that we had
on a list. Mike Brown, Kyle Dixon, Cameron Dorner, Eric Gregory, and Hassan Haskins. Now a couple of
guys I want to pick out here. First of which is Kyle Dixon. Dixon played at Culver Stockton College.
He played there for just two years and in the preseason he had 10 receptions on 10 targets.
Obviously he earned a spot on the practice squad, but just amazing even though the stats were
spectacular at Culver Stockton that he is able to put himself on an NFL roster. A fantastic story for
him to tell. A fantastic story for the New England Patriots and it's an exciting thing. This guy had
over 2,300 yards nearly 2,400 yards in his collegiate career just over two seasons and 22
games. His average yards per reception was nice too at 16.7. Not a lot of that was what we saw
in the preseason though. He had 10 game or excuse me 10 receptions on 10 targets for just 81 yards.
So a decent average 81 point or excuse me 8.1 receiving yards per reception did only play in
two games instead of all three. So excited for Dixon to be making this roster. That's something
that I think we all were hoping for and ultimately he does get added. Mike Brown also a fantastic
safety. We know how they feel about the safety room so I'm excited that he's on there. And then
Cameron Dorner also a wide receiver that kind of made some sparks when he was initially added as a
UDFA and I'm excited to say that he made it. Eric Gregory is somebody that I think a lot of us
potentially thought could have made the 53-man roster at a certain time. Ultimately they decide
to not put him in here with Durden, Barmore, Leonard Taylor and Farmer but I think that he
could be the quote-unquote backup nose tackle. Again there's going to be times where we're going
to see Farmer, Leonard, everybody's going to play nose tackle at one point in time but just as a
kind of thought process there I do think that's a decent portion of maybe why Gregory got the
sign here. I always say when we do these practice squad videos whether it's a signing and practice
squad or the full practice squad reveal if you can be flexible you're going to get on the practice
squad. If you have value to the organization in more than one way they're going to want you on
the practice squad and then the third way is one you have to earn if you're with the organization
for a long time and you know the ins and outs then you're probably going to be getting
priority on the practice squad. Hassan Haskins is also somebody that I'm very excited to see. The
running back room is in an interesting spot obviously with three guys deep and Hassan is
actually not the only running back that was out in this so a little spoiler there but Hassan did
do pretty solid in his preseason you know time 20K every 69 yards. It is something that is nice
to have given the veteran presence that he will possess so that's obviously something you like but
I do think that he has earned it with what we showed in the training camp and in the preseason
games as well. So these are the first five any names that stick out to you any guys that you
like here let me know your thoughts down in the comments section. So that's again five of twelve
here we go to the next five guys on the list and Lan Larrison. I was really kind of bummed that he
didn't make it I obviously understood given the trade why he didn't but he does make the practice
squad he comes back to New England. Laurens Metz, Jeremiah Farms Jr., Jacob Rizzi, and Kendall
Vildor. So kind of going through these names. Larrison is a guy who I was very much hopeful
that he could make the roster when they did make the trade for the running back out of Arizona.
Obviously that changes things but still he played in now two consecutive preseason seasons with the
New England Patriots and overall he finished with 39 rushing yards in this season. He did have 13
receiving yards as or excuse me he had a couple receiving yards as well. So I'm really excited
that he's there he will be added to the practice squad and he was one of the notable cuts behind
really excited that he does get the nod to be on this practice squad again he could get a chance
here or there to maybe potentially put himself into a game at him. We saw Terrell Jennings who
was a Terrell Jennings last year was a practice squad member that played a couple of games or he
was the starter. Now obviously that was because of injury and I hope that does not happen this year
but there is obviously some history of practice squad running backs being a big part of the Dallas
team. Lawrence Metz pretty good offensive tackle I wanted to keep obviously with the way that you're
going to use your practice when you want to have some extra offensive linemen. Jeremiah Farms Jr.
that's a good one to have on there with a defensive tackle. Jacob Rizzi is a Harvard guy so
interesting there and then get another offensive lineman and then I do want to hone in here quickly
on Kindle Vildor. He had a great preseason he had a great preseason and really did think that he was
going to make the roster potentially had an interception in the preseason opener also did
really solid in coverage as well another guy that was in this suite room Carlos Lopez John Saunders
he is not on the practice squad at least not noted as of yet Mike Brown took that one safety spot
that we know of again doesn't mean that Saunders is going to get it eventually but just as a
labeling on that I do think that Vildor is very much deserving the cornerback room for the New
England Patriots is very solid I think that we are in a great spot with what we have you always
want to have guys in the backup but Gonzalez Davis pop and then Prunty and Canada you know you've got
some guys not to mention Marcus Jones and Charles Woods in there as well pretty excited to have
you know a nice option and a veteran option in Vildor in that practice squad so again those are
the other five guys popping back up on the screen for you we got Lan Larison, Lawrence Mads, Jeremiah
Farms Jr., Jacob Rizzi, and Kendall Vildor again last guy that I our last couple three that I do
want to point out is Riley Wilson and Mitch Wisnowski he is a punter Mitch is and right now
that's a very big important thing for the New England Patriots who currently don't have a
healthy punter because Bryce Barringer is injured and he is going to start off on injured reserve
so Barringer, Jacobs they're eligible to return this season doesn't like anything crazy but he is
going to go on IR and which means Wisnowski is going to be pulled up for the next coming games
the start the season as the active punter given he's the one on the practice squad they did have
another punter they signed I can't remember his name it was he was here for like two days before
we ended up getting him cut and getting Wisnowski here on this contract so he'll be pulled up for
the first couple of games it's still not a full force thing that we know when Barringer is going
to be back as a note you can be pulled up off the practice squad onto the active roster three
separate times in a season before you have to be officially added to the active roster so with
Wisnowski he's got effectively three games before Barringer can get healthy or they're going to have
to put him on the active roster for time now does that mean that much not necessarily it just means
you're going to have to cut somebody else off the 53 man so that that's that's the one kind of
downfall in that also uh kind of an interesting thought process with this Khalil Jacobs with the
linebacker the Patriots did sign a linebacker today in case you missed that video earlier in
the day go check that out and grabbed a man saw from the Giants look pretty solid so excited to
see him but here again is your practice squad signees 12 thus far for the Patriots again we'll
keep you updated on the other what five slots they have because if just as a note 16 is the
normal number for a practice squad you can't have a 17th member if that 17th minder is an
international player and that way you get the international player pathway program whatever
it is it's IPP is what the label is and you get that extra spot but Mike Brown Kyle Dixon Cameron
Dorner Eric Gregory Hassan Haskins alongside these five in Len Larrison Lawrence Metz Jeremiah Farms
Jr. Jacob Rizzi Kendall Vildore Mitch Wisnowski and Riley Wilson are your right now 12 guys on
the Patriots quote-unquote practice squad initial practice squad excited to see a bunch of these
guys let me know what you think down the comment section about maybe some guys that were cut
yesterday that didn't make the product squad that you think should because they got some space
and of course you know other teams can start grabbing on as well if they didn't get signed
so we'll see what happens but for now guys we do appreciate watching we'll see you next time
here on the show peace out
