AI GeneratedThis preview analyzes the upcoming division matchup between the New York Jets and the New England Patriots. While the Jets are coming off a strong defensive performance against Cleveland, the Patriots are favored at home due to returning key weapons and the recent improved form of quarterback Drake May.
The game in London is back underway in the second half.
We'll update you on those games as well.
But first, let's get back to our previews here
and get to the New York Jets against
the New England Patriots this week,
a division battle.
The Jets last week ended up getting a big win
against the Cleveland Browns at home,
and now they have to go to New England to take on the Patriots,
where naturally they're going to be a very big underdog.
This is not unexpected.
But New England, Joe, they get back some weapons this week.
I suppose the only question uh for the Jets
is that can they build on what they did last week
against Cleveland which is play is as good
as defense as they've played in a really long time to
shut down Deshaun Watson and company obviously
a much tougher battle here but a big line with
New England laying the point yeah and I think the weather
also was a huge factor in that game last
week too so credit to the Jets defense
but also game was really difficult to throw the ball and
it was torrential downpours at certain moments in that game
so this is a different scenario
If this game was in New York,
I don't think we'd see the seven and a half.
Maybe it would be a five and a half or a six and a half even.
In New England here with A.J. Brown returning in this game too,
I don't think we bring A.J. Brown back unless he is ready
because I'm pretty sure New England would look at this game and say,
well, I think this is a winnable game for us against the Jets
currently constituted at home.
So the fact that he is playing in this game tells me
that A.J. Brown's ready to play.
And the way Drake May has played the last couple weeks
and also going back even to last year,
the Jets did not cover any of the games against the Patriots last year.
those games were well in hand
and I think Drake May has kind of rediscovered himself we talked
about it on this show too after that Jacksonville game what
was going on with Drake May the inability to
get the ball downfield they've found that solution
and now to bring in A.J. Brown that's another
solution to that problem Efton Chisholm's
also stepped up into that void too starting to be a
contributor Pop Douglas was contributing
as well it looks like Trayvon Henderson's gonna also play
in this game but probably a lot of Rhamondre in this game as well
so i actually feel pretty good
about the New England Patriots in the seven
and a half in this one i think this one is
going to be in control here if you're looking
for a fun touchdown prop maybe throw out the
Efton Chisholm plus 350 because that's a pretty nice return
and the way he's been utilizing this
offense it's kind of that slow burn it's it's what you saw
when the Patriots organization years ago
picked up a special teamer from Miami named Wes Welker
and turned him into a hundred catch guy
and then they drafted a quarterback from Kent State
and converted him to wide receiver as a
special teamer and then he became a guy named Julian Edelman
and it looks like maybe Efton
Chisholm is the next guy in that mold.
I'm not saying he's going to have the same career as those guys,
but he certainly fits exactly what this offense
and Josh McDaniel likes to do.
And if Drake May start to find confidence in him on a weekly basis,
then it's something to pay attention to at the very least.
