Rockmart High celebrates 10th straight region football title

Team won their 10th straight region title last week, beating Lafayette 56-10. The Yellow Jackets are our High Five Sports Team of the week, and today's Alex Whitler joins us live from the morning pep rally. What's up, Alex? My name is Amazia Christopher. And what year are you? I'm class of 2027. 2027, that's coming up, isn't it? Ma'am. What are your plans for after graduation? My plan is to go to a four-year college and study a major in fashion. Ooh, fashion. Let's see the fit quick. Fit check, fit check. See, you got the leather going. You know I like that leather. All right. Tell me, how does it feel to know that your team is our high-five sports team of the week? Not surprising, honestly. I think they stay really disciplined, and I think they've earned it, and I'm super proud of them. I hope we, you know, get to go to the Benz this year and maybe win a championship. I think you will. It's been a lot of fun. But you guys have been good, like year after year. Yeah, ten times. All right, let's get to know another student here. Welcome on over. I understand you are the head of the Fine Arts Department. Yes. What's your name? Will Scott. Will, been involved with that. I've been involved with Fine Arts for three years. I've done theater from middle school and high school. Nice. And so when you look around this gymnasium, what goes through your mind? You see the school spirit, you see everyone lined up in black and gold, and how does it feel? There's just such a sense of unity around our sports teams and around our clubs. I feel like that sort of energy is exactly what people need to thrive, and that school thrives. The school is doing it for me. I love every bit of this. Hi, band! I want to hear from you! Alex Whittler, live in Rock Mart at Rock Mart High School this morning. Our high five sports team of the week. She may have to shed that jacket. It's getting warm in that gym at Rock Mart High School. Looks like a good time, though. 8:21 is your time right now. Stay with us. Good day, Atlanta. We'll be right back after this.
