This is fantastic, because you
guys said enough is enough.
The
people.
It's our gas prices.
With Canada,
you guys want to change,
and you fought for it tooth
and nail, and you
delivered.
With the government,
you wanted a guy raised
with good values, whose
parents had hard work,
as we're going through, and take
an oath to fight for all of you.
You guys wanted a guy like Zach Millan.
I can't believe this is happening,
so much so that I had to type something out really
quickly.
I was afraid of what I'd say otherwise, so,
listen, tonight, this is all about you.
I think you all know I couldn't have done this without you,
we didn't have enough money
to do it without you.
This was a grassroots campaign.
I've never been more hopeful for the future
and for the future of South Jersey because
Because of all of you.
You all know this was never my campaign.
This was all of our campaign.
So thank you.
And I mean that when I say I know how many doors you knocked.
The governor just said we hit 95% of the doors here
in Cape May County.
I know we got pretty darn close to that in just about every
county here in South Jersey.
So thank you.
It wasn't just door knocking, it was phone banking,
it was postcard writing, it was just about every possible way
in banner planes and everything else that we could get
our message out there in the most affordable way.
So I cannot thank you all enough.
I saw it in all the volunteers
who gave up their weekends for all those families who, after work,
left their work and were nuts enough to go knock on doors with me.
And thank God you were nuts enough because we did it.
We did it.
This moment is historic.
I think you all know that.
We took a congressional seat
and just won a seat that literally last week,
Cook reported as solid Republican.
This is a district that we weren't supposed to win.
You know, a lot of people felt like their voices were being unheard.
And believe me, tonight your voices are being heard.
Looking at the results, I've got to tell you,
there's a lot of Republicans that voted for us.
Yes!
What can I tell you? To me, that tells me that they too know
that we need major changes in this country.
Yes.
Yes.
Yes.
I haven't played the Republican deck before.
I don't want to talk anymore.
This campaign has been about dignity, decency, and stability for all.
Thank you all.
It's been about fighting for the middle class.
For Social Security, for Medicare, for Medicaid,
and for affordable health care for all families.
Thank you, Max.
Yeah!
Yes, it's been about ending the war in Iran.
It's been about ending the terrorists
that are causing all of our prices to skyrocket.
Yeah!
Right.
And yes, making sure that all of us can live with dignity
and decency in retirement and in our lives.
I've never been shy to talk about my faith.
My mother always said to me to use
your God-given talents to help others.
She always talked about Matthew 25,
to care for the least of these, to care for the sick,
to care for the hungry, to feed the hungry, to welcome the stranger.
That has been the guiding light of this campaign,
and for so many, that is the American dream.
That's what this election's been about,
something that's even greater than the American dream.
It was about the dream of America,
the dream of a country that belongs to the people,
a country where power is not purchased,
where dignity is not reserved for the privileged.
Where our differences are not diminished by common humanity.
For far too long, we've watched an administration treat that dream
as though it were something that could be sold to the highest bidder.
They believed that we would grow tired.
They believed that we would look away.
They believed that we would just give in.
But we didn't.
We stood our ground.
We knocked on doors.
It's a country that we love, and the ideals that make it worth living.
And tonight we prove something,
that the dream of America is still alive.
It's alive in every person who believed in this campaign,
every person who knocked on
those doors, and every person that's here tonight.
Every Republican who crossed party lines,
every Democrat who refused to lose hope, and
every Independent who joined us.
And all of it is because of you.
So I stand here and I just say thank you.
I thank you for everyone
in this room who believed
in the American dream.
And yes, and believed in families like my family
who frankly sacrificed so much to be here.
And I want to thank especially my wife Justine.
They should get their own Justine.
We would all be much better off.
And I want to thank the governor and all of these folks,
and let me tell you one thing,
if there's one thing that Donald Trump did for this country,
it was bring out a ton of
good people who just simply care.
Frankly, I wouldn't be up here if it weren't for Donald Trump.
But you know, all of these folks, and by the way,
across South Jersey, we saw a sweep tonight.
And I gotta tell you, all of these folks in Atlantic County
and Cumberland County, two
of the poorest counties in the country.
In the state, that truly need help.
They brought out people who don't typically run in politics.
These are good people who truly care about their community.
And I think we're going to see major results because of that.
We are going to turn our country around.
I want to say, for all of those who have
been abused by this administration,
to the immigrants who have been treated like terrorists,
it is now time to treat people with dignity and respect.
So I thank all of you for being here, you made this happen.
Thank you, God bless you and your families, and God bless America.
