Now to a deadly accident involving a SEPTA trolley.
A woman who was running in Southwest Philadelphia was killed
when she ran into the path of the trolley.
Action News reporter Corey Davis live at the scene,
and Corey, officials spent the day
trying to learn who that woman was,
and they finally identified her late today, right?
Rick, good evening. Yeah,
and we're being told she was 64-year-old Samubert Sheikberdieva,
and we're being told that, according to witnesses,
she was out here running when she was hit by that trolley.
It's a solemn reminder, like, it could happen at any moment.
Nick Keene was among several bystanders
who had to take a moment to themselves
after a runner was struck and killed by a SEPTA Route 13 trolley.
They start lifting the trolley,
and that's when I realized there was somebody under the trolley.
Police have identified the victim as Samubert Sheikberdieva.
Investigators say she was hit at around 9
o'clock this morning at 45th and Chester Avenue
next to Clark Park in Southwest Philadelphia.
Crowds gathered as people came over to see what was going on.
And some women who were standing over there who are in tears crying.
Several witnesses tell us the victim
was running on 45th with her earbuds in
and that the trolley was at the stop
sign picking up passengers on Chester.
Witnesses then say the woman continued running
as the trolley started moving forward.
Someone who was waiting to cross from the other side told me they tried
to get her attention before she was struck.
Sounds like she didn't hear the trolley coming.
I'm cautious now when I cross the street from this here.
Jimmy O'Real says trolleys come through all the time every 10 minutes,
but he has never seen an accident like this one.
I've lived here 16 years and I've seen some accidents,
especially up in my corner, which were horrible,
but I've never heard of anybody going under a trolley before.
God rest her soul. I hope she's in a better place.
SEPTA officials tell me their thoughts
are with her loved ones and family as well.
They're also providing services for that trolley operator.
Witnesses tell me he was understandably
shaken up out here after the incident.

All right, Corey, thank you.
