He emphasizes a growing, diverse coalition of supporters and highlights the significance of endorsements from Democrats who believe his opponent is too extreme for the state.
Yeah, well, first of all, thank you all for being here.
Nobody more happy about hitting today than Christy and I.
Come on up, Christy.
You know, in the last 12 days,
we've had over 60 stops around the state.
Before that, we've had about 1,000 meetings everywhere
from Marquette to Detroit
to all the way in the southwest of the state.
We have talked to literally thousands
and thousands and thousands of Michiganders.
We feel really good about where we are today,
and we're looking forward to the results tonight.
And if nothing else, this has been a vigorous campaign, for sure.
Questions?
We'll start over here with Brecca Daily Wire.
Hi. What do you make of Democrats' reaction
to Haley Stevens' endorsement to you
when it was a very cross-party principle endorsement?
Well, obviously I'm disappointed in how vicious they've been,
but I think that speaks to who the modern Democrat Party is.
Here's somebody who said, I voted Democrat all the way down the list.
Except for one person who I think is too extreme for our state,
that's country over party.
They ought to celebrate her courage
and encourage her to continue to being a Democrat rather than
trying to throw her out of the party.
I mean, I've never seen such viciousness online.
And here's the thing,
she was just a pin in multiple Democrats who have come out and said
Abdul Al Saeed is too extreme for this state.
That part didn't get covered much,
But I think she was obviously the highest profile.
And it took a lot of courage
for her to do that, to stand up for America.
And listen, I'm proud of her for doing what
she believed was the right thing to do.
If you are a tourist tonight, what is the single most important issue
or factor that you would attribute your win to?
I didn't hear the first part of it. If? If? Or when?
When. When. When I win tonight.
What is the single most important issue
or factor that you would attribute your potential victory to tonight?
I just think we've reached a whole different coalition set.
That we've never quite seen here in the state of Michigan
from Democrats in the city of Detroit, and Pontiac, and Flint,
Jewish Democrats all across the southeast,
Chaldeans, Albanians, Indian Hindus.
We've had such great conversations, such great relations about
how we go together forward for our great state of Michigan.
I think that's what's going to make the difference.
And our base is fired up. They understand the risk.
of having the Democrat Socialists of America have
their first statewide candidate going into the United States Senate.
Our base is charged up to make sure
that doesn't happen right here in Missouri.
Do you want this morning on Israel?
Have you had any conversations
with Haley Stevens over the last 24 hours today?
Is she welcome with you tonight at your event? Tell me about your-
Well, she would be welcome. We have not spoken directly about
her coming to the event. She'd be absolutely welcome at the event.
I mean, I think she's, again,
I just think the amount of courage it took to do that.
Last night at our last rally,
we had a whole host of other Democrats who have come out.
And said that this guy's too extreme.
By the way, voting Democrat down the straight ticket.
So listen, if she wants to come, she'd be welcome.
If she doesn't, I certainly understand that as well.
But we ought to celebrate,
the press ought to celebrate the fact that these
courageous people stood up,
even though they've been lifelong Democrats.
And said, this is too extreme, it's too extreme for our party,
the Democrat Party, and it's too extreme for our state.
To me, that's huge.
This is a massive shift and it's the most important race in the country
and this has been going on.
We just had another Democrat that I served
with in the House of Representatives,
Mr. Clark, came out yesterday and said,
listen, this is too extreme, this is the right guy.
There has just been a pattern of Democrats
who know him best saying this guy's too extreme.
For the state, I hope Michiganders are listening.
I think that sends a really important message.
So she'd be welcome to come in.
What's the point?
Thank you, guys.
We'll see you tonight.
