And with that, the race for governor is coming down to the final hours.
Fox 5's Annie Mapp attended rallies
for both candidates in the last two days,
and she joins us live in southwest Atlanta
with a look at how they're making their case
to Georgia voters. Good evening, Courtney and Russ.
It's down to the wire in Georgia's
governor's race. Former Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms held
her final campaign here in
southwest Atlanta at her campaign headquarters,
where she talked about her push for expanding
Affordability, expanding health care,
and for making things more affordable.
Now, on Sunday, I attended billionaire Rick Jackson's campaign.
It was in Forsyth County there.
He talked about his mission of lowering taxes
and cutting government spending.
Both gubernatorial candidates were joined
by other lawmakers in their party
and emphasized the importance of getting anyone
who hasn't already voted out tomorrow.
They both recognized how close the race is.
Numbers from Insider Advantages poll
of 2,500 likely Georgia voters shows
Bottoms three hundredths of a point ahead of Jackson.
Two percent of voters are still undecided.
The results are within a margin of error of 1.96 percent.
Both candidates have had unique campaign backstories,
with Bottoms mentioning how she would become
the first woman elected governor in the state
and the first black woman elected governor in the country.
Rick Jackson on the line.
And on the other hand, grew up in foster care
and says he cycled through five different homes.
She had a chance to lead.
She had a chance to show what she does when people are counting on her.
And we saw it.
We cannot let her do to Georgia what she did to Atlanta.
If you want a man who wants to be Trump's favorite governor,
then that's your guy.
If you want a guy who doesn't disagree with anything that Trump says
and does, then Slick Rick is your man.
Now, after months of campaigning,
the decision is in the hands of Georgia voters.
The polls will be open tomorrow from
7 in the morning until 7 at night.
If you are in line by 7 in the evening,
you will be allowed to vote.
Reporting live in Southwest Atlanta,
Annie Mapp Fox 5 News.
Alright, we may know by this time tomorrow night.
We'll see any thanks.
